I must admit I have not been to many meat markets in my life. HEB and Central Market carry nice meats from select to prime and wagyu in beef and natural chicken, pork and lamb. I discovered this place many years ago and have never felt I could possibly do any better on quality or price so I have not checked out other specialty butchers in the area. Bohlner’s is fantastic and they have the most incredible meats, many locally produced. We get aged beef, their choice is better than other place’s prime and their prime is worth writing about. They have steaks you likely have only seen on tv or in magazines like wagyu tomahawks. Our fav is the thick cut aged porterhouse or ny strips and aged wagyu sirloin. They carry heritage pork Duroc, Berkshire and at times Iberico if you want to splurge a little. The pork is way different than grocery store or mass produced pork so much so it is hard to eat regular pork after trying heritage quality meat. They make awesome sausage and wagyu hotdogs. They recently brought back boars head pickles and the guy in front of me to check out had a whole cleaned goat in a bag. They have rabbit, frogs legs, cabrito, lamb, ducks, competition grade briskets, chickens, bacon wrapped yummy things ready for the grill, short ribs and rib plates, huge 7 steaks, special ground meats and a wall of spices. When quality matters most or you need something special for a recipe this place is worth the drive. Also there is a restaurant Gyro’s #2 on the corner with a really good giant fish sandwich and burgers. Our famous old Burger Boy restaurants proudly advertise they use Bohlner’s ground beef

So many choices, so little money. Friendly staff and a huge selection of everything meat. I even saw frozen goat heads! I stocked up on sausage and boudin. I even bought some dried venison sticks that were so good one didn't make it home.
The Bobby's smoked sausage is so flavorful.
I've seen Bolner's spices at HEB, but the market have a huge selection of things I have never seen at HEB.
They are a little off the beaten path but well worth a visit.

This place always delivers great meat. Today I picked up some of their great hamburger patties and some signature sausage. My daughter is coming in from A&M and she said that she wanted some burgers, immediately I thought about Bolner’s. It’s a bit out of my way but it is well worth the trip. Their 80/20 patties are airtight sealed when they’re formed. They are scrumptious. The sausage will melt in your mouth. We can’t wait until tomorrow to throw these on the grill and gobble them up. Here’s a tip on the sausage; cook the link whole, wait about 5 minutes prior to cutting them. Squeeze a little lime on them before eating. Highly recommend.

Remove this place as a restaurant. It’s a grocery store. Cool place but they haven’t served lunch in 6 years....

We wanted a package for our freezer meat. I explained that my meat has to be measured weight because of surgery. Although most package are frozen they made one up with fresh meat so I could weight it and wrap according to my health needs. Great way to win me as a return customer for life

Wonderful meat market with great selection. No longer serves prepared lunch food. Terrific selection of routine cuts, as well as some less common meats (venison, rabbit, etc). Great service. I got pork cutlets that are beautiful, and ground brisket. The brisket made the best burgers ever! Will definitely be back.

I was staying in town at a hotel with a grill so instead of going out for dinner thought I would cook my own. Looked on line and decided that I would give this meat market a try. Omg am I glad I did I bought the Texas Wagyu strip-loin and it was amazing. I will be here every time I am in town. Awesome meat with friendly staff this is truly a five star meat market don't be fooled by the outside because all the awesomeness is on the inside.

Bolner's is an amazing meat market ! Wonderful quality, impeccably clean, and reasonable pricing. Try the beef or chicken seasoned fajitas. You can't go wrong.

This place used to be a great combo restaurant and butcher shop. They have since closed the restaurant part but have expanded on the meat market side of the business . These guys are doing it old school !! they have great cuts of meat and will get you a special cut if you don't see it in the display . They supply a ton of restaurants in town and several hotels .you just cannot compare what you find here to any grocery store. They carry burger patties by the box in different weights ready to go . Great choices of steaks/chops and their home ground sausages are incredibly good . You must also try their extra thick peppered bacon . They carry a lot of other goodies from a lot of other San Antonio favorites . Such as Adelita's tortillas, Rubens tamales plus just about any Fiesta Bolner's spice you can think of .

This is a must visit if you are into home processing- They sell all the materials to make sausage and jerky at home- Fresh cuts of meat in far greater diversity than other meat markets. Full line of spices and preserves. A true specialty shop.

Between all the most popular Texas BBQ places we have been in San Antonio, until now, Bolner's is the best. Friendly staff, good choices of meat, which was nice, tender and moist. A bit overpriced but it was good! I recommend!:)

We have only bought from the meat market here. The Akaushi beef is what made us visit here the first time and that is what keeps us coming back. This is the most incredible meat you will eat. It is not inexpensive but well worth the cost. The hamburger meat is not too bad and it is the best burger meat you can buy. It is a good way to enjoy the flavor of the meat and not spend as much as the steaks cost. Every time we visit we do buy Akaushi steaks and the hamburger meat. The staff at the meat counter is always helpful. Joe is especially helpful and can make many recommendations. For Christmas we bought an Akaushi prime rib at his recommendation. It looks beautiful and I can't wait to cook and eat it.
We highly recommend this place and we will go back.

A colleague and I usually eat here once a week. Their meats are excellent, their sides are really good and the banana pudding is THE BOMB! Just like grandma used to make. The store has a nice selection of meats, veggies, charcoal, sauces, sides and an incredible selection of spices in larger and very cost-competitive sizes.

Great food; Great people; The finest butcher shop in the world; when you visit the butcher shop (for backyard bbq), They have excellent prime beef; try the beef and chicken fajitas; Beef k-bobs and chicken diablos are great too! Questions? See Joe in the meat Market! He will hook you up! Catering... see Tracy! Bolner's Rocks (for about 100 years); Can't go wrong when you get lunch, catering or beef/chicken to go and "Q" at home from Bolner's. Enjoy!
