Really great service, really good food. We arrived at this downtown Salt Lake City location on a Saturday night. From the looks of things we arrived during the height of the dinner rush. However our waiter person quickly introduced himself and said he would be right back. True to his word he returned almost immediately even though he was obviously quite busy with other tables. We got water and drinks quickly, Our order was taken soon thereafter and we were surprised how quickly our food showed up only a few minutes later. The three of us had three different entrées and our Rating of really good for the food is a combination of everyone’s opinion. Portions were reasonable, food was served warm and everyone was satisfied with what they ordered.
Based on our positive experience here, we plan to seek out the Brio location in our home area in the near future. Should our future travels take us back to the SLC area we would be sure to become repeat customers for the SLC location. I would recommend this brio location without a seconds hesitation.

Great experience here, went twice in a week while I was in town for a conference. Great food, and the setting is lovely with tiered seating in low-lighting and a real Italian feel to the space. Service varies but servers are all well-presented and food is brought out in a timely manner. Meatballs were a little overcooked and spaghetti a little over-oiled but overall it was delicious.

Brio is a chain and the food is pretty standard between them. Decent pasta - pretty Americanized but we like it. Had berry lemonade and it was really good. Shrimp and Lobster Fettucine was good and I was actually pleasantly surprised at the amount of seafood. Service was a bit inattentive - we had a hard time flagging down our server so we could pay and since we were headed to airport that caused some stress but otherwise good place to eat.

Unfortunately just a bad experience overall, it started from the moment we entered the building until we left. It was my best friends 23rd birthday and we wanted to have a nice quite fancy dinner. I was the first to arrive out of the party of 8 the host was extremely unwelcoming and rude. Our table wasn't ready and the host refused to start getting the table ready until I called the birthday girl to verify she was close by. I've worked in the industry for 10 years now and I know from personal experience a parties table should of been ready in advance. The manager had finally sat us 30 minutes later after arriving. We ordered drinks and the bartender couldn't even make a simple espresso martini or a painkiller. When the food came out they brought the birthday girls lobster and shrimp fettuccine with NO lobster!! They offered to remake it which they did but at that point everyone was basically done their dinner. The management never came but after everything happened to apologize. The waitress brought a tiny dessert out afterward with all of our dinner plates still on the table and didn't bother singing happy birthday or even saying it nicely. Then we get the bill which was close to 200$. Just such a disappointing experience overall and I will not be recommending Brio to anyone I know and I will never be returning.

While on business in SLC, my colleagues and I dined at this restaurant. The service was outstanding. The waiter worked around our timing (we were waiting for our 3rd guest to arrive from the airport). He kept our wine glasses full (procuring the LAST bottle of Meomi for us!), and put in our appetizer order when we knew our colleague was in the Uber.
There is something for everyone on the menu and they work with food restrictions as well (i.e. gluten free substituting veggies for the break/crackers that come with the Spinach Artichoke Dip). The three of us ordered salads, soup and fish, and everyone's meal was seasoned well and proportionally good for the money spent.
All in all, we would come back here! We are in SLC regularly for business and this will be a go to spot in the future.

Outside of our server who was super nice, this place was horrid. As nice as he was, it still took him until shortly before we received our dinner to get our cocktails and we had already received the appetizer. The carpaccio was drizzled with what seemed like creamy Italian with a couple capers thrown on top. Spaghetti Bolognese tasted like hamburger helper and forget about getting any tomatoes in your pomodoro sauce. Who puts chunks of mozzarella in pasta like that? I asked for parmesan cheese and got a container half full of the kind in my cupboard. We went back to the hotel and ordered a pizza after paying $100. Don't waste your time or money.

This dining experience was truly bizzare. I kid you not! The management does not know how to run a restaurant. There was definitely tension among the two shift managers and the staff. Arguing privately in corners. It took over 45 mins before we even ordered, and another 45 min before our food came. It was evident that there were big problems in the kitchen - server logistics, because many plates of entrees and salads would sit for 20+ minutes on the cook counter before being delivered to tables. (Brio has an open kitchen design, so you can see it all happening from your table). Yet, people were just standing around. Almost like a work slow down. Something was really wierd last night, and the management staff were just as indifferent to it. Some tables walked out. We were close to doing so, when we asked our server if we could have our salads (a chop salad and wedge), because i could see them sitting there on the salad counter for the past 20 mins. She replied, "oh yeah, I can get those for you". What?!? Then why had we not received them already? I don't get it. The entrees were even worse. It was like Twilight Zone, with the "adults' in the room arguing; and lots of second-hand embarrassment. Bottom line....avoid this restaurant for a few months until they turn over staff, or until they have their work processes figured out. It was the worst cluster I've ever seen....and the worst $100 I've ever spent.

I discovered this place from a business meal.
I have since been back with family and friends on multiple occasions. They never disappoint.
As with many restaurants, the service can make a two or three star swing in rating.
Generally speaking, the service we get is superb. The wait staff is well above average, and they clearly focus on serving the client well.
I rarely order the same thing twice, and cannot tell you a time that our party has been anything less than impressed with our selections.
For a consistently excellent experience, Brio is a real contender.

Nice atmosphere and friendly staff but service was horribly slow. We waited about 15-20 minutes just to get drinks and have our order taken. I had to ask for a refill on water 3 times. We were not expecting this to be a 5 star restaurant but based on the prices and ambience, we did expect it to be a step up from Olive Garden. The food was good but not great and after waiting an hour to get it, we expected it to be much better. Our server disappeared for a while and someone else took over then she just kind of showed back up. We were ignored for long periods of time. Overall it was a big letdown. Overpriced for what you get. We did complain to the manager and she took 60% off our bill.

Beware their website. We ordered delivery via their website. It said food would arrive in 45 minutes. When I called to check on it after an hour, they said they don’t deliver. I was worried I had fallen for a scam website, but they confirmed it was in fact their website. Then they said they were so busy they couldn’t do orders and could not turn off their online system. I was on a time crunch so said to cancel my order. They refused. They said I had to contact Uber eats. I did not order through Uber eats. I ordered through them. I assume Brio subcontracted with Uber eats. That was outside my control. I reconfirmed it was in fact their website where I ordered. Brio refused to help. At this point over 1 hour 15 minutes had passed. I called credit card company to start a cancellation at which point a driver magically showed up at Brio to deliver our order, which we did accept. I understand restaurants are overwhelmed and staff is busy, but the dishonesty was unacceptable. First they lied and said they couldn’t turn off online ordering, but later when I looked at it, it was turned off. Then they provided bad information as to the length of time to prepare the order. Then they said they did not deliver, when their website gave the delivery option. Then they said food was not prepared but they refused to cancel the order, but when a driver appeared, they called me back asking if I wanted the food that was in fact already prepared, or if they should cancel. Poor service. An honest apology for an error is what was needed, not a constantly changing Story. The food itself was ok. Steak was a little salty and dry. Pasta vodka was fine. Salads were fine. I would have rated 2.5 stars but that wasn’t an option. I went with 3 stars as we had eaten there in person in the past and it was much better. But, I doubt we will go back in the future.

We went to the restaurant today.
The waiter, Gabriel, was an absolute disaster. Unfriendly, workshy and absolutely incapable. The food came only after a long wait and demand. He tipped the appetizer on the table, did not apologize and did not clear the dishes after the appetizer. He did not bring the food, a colleague had to help out. At two other tables, he emptied glasses, broke glasses and did not clean up until after a long time. Other guests also complained or left the restaurant after a long wait. Mr. Gabriel was not in service most of the time either. Where he was is unkalr. All other employees work three times more. For the bill we had to call someone else.
To the supervisor of the restaurant: fire this employee. Otherwise the guests will stay away and the other employees will quit.

2nd time to dine here since our arrival in Salt Lake. We really enjoy Brio but do not have one in our home state of Indiana. I love the Salmon salad - perfect blend of everything I love & the dressing is great. My husband loves the Pasta Brio paired with the Meiomi Pinot Noir. The lobster bisque is also very good & goes so well with the hot bread. This visit had a couple of hiccups. The plain iced tea tasted like smoke. I returned it. Another came & tasted the same way. Switched to Mango Iced Tea, it was better but a little thick with the syrup added. The other issue was with the wine. The menu shows 2 sizes. My husband ordered the smaller size & was told it only came in one size, of course, the larger & more expensive one. Also, I asked about the Brio Club & our server couldn't tell me anything about how it worked. I would think that if you are going to offer a 'club', your servers would be given information to share with your customers. Overall not the best visit but the food is great.

Food and service was excellent, although the waiter didn't seem to be able to answer certain questions about some of the menu items. Portions were generous, the food tasty, and the presentation attractive. Great for large parties, convention goers, and those seeking a special night out for dinner.

I don't mind paying $20 for an overpriced bowl of spaghetti, but I certainly expect decent customer service when I'm paying that much for something I can make better at home, but I've gotten better service at the local iHop. Water glasses were never refilled. Same with the wine glasses. The food was nothing special and the server never checked back once we got our food. In fact, the server only came back to deposit the check. Seeing the reviews from 10/9/2023 and 9/7/23 would have kept us walking to a better choice. As an earlier reviewer says, Olive Garden is better.
Do not recommend. Would not return.

Despite restaurant not being busy, we waited over 50 mins for entrees to arrive from time of ordering. We should have listened to the guest that approached us and said ‘you’ve got a long wait my food took nearly an hour to arrive’. When the food did arrive the steak was overcooked to the point it was inedible and was sent back, the other entree (pork chops) were fine.
I don’t know if staff had failed to show up to work but they seemed overwhelmed and other reviews suggest the restaurant is good, but they were certainly way below par when we visited.
