We have eaten here twice in the last year and enjoyed both experiences. Some of our favorite dishes have been the Ravioli Con Zucca, the Arista, and the Pappardelle al Sugo. Their mixed green salads are subtle and good and one can upgrade to a more loaded salad. They have a variety of specials, often seafood dishes. These have been good although if the sauce accompanying a side pasta is very simple it may be a bit bland. They have excellent balsamic though so anything can be given a bit of extra life with this addition. Don't bother with lemonade here it was meh. We've tried some of the deserts, by far the best is the Chocolate Hazelnut Mousse Cake. The service is very good here and the atmosphere less loud and rushed than some downtown restaurants. There is parking adjacent.

Went there with a candidate for a university job. The location has hosted bars and dance places so the upstairs is really spacious. We wanted a relatively quiet place and since it was not Friday, there was no live music and we could converse easily even though there were a few large groups upstairs. The downstairs bar is cozy. They have done a nice job of converting the place into a restaurant, but I miss the old patio when it was on First South. However, now they own their own place and so the situation is more stable for them. Drinks were quite good; the special for the day was quite good, but the regular menu items were more pedestrian. They were good, but not knock out special. The wait staff was good - not obnoxious or intrusive. I don't know if there is a difference in the crews between the upstairs and downstairs. Prices were pretty reasonable (well, liquor is always overpriced in any restaurant, but the food was reasonable). Overall, quite good, but I still imagined people dancing in the place we were upstairs.

We had an excellent dinner at Caffe Molise on a recent visit to Salt Lake City. The restaurant is operating in a somewhat locked down state, so we had to wait outside, and it took a while to get seated without a reservation (despite the restaurant not being crowded). However, service was top notch, and the food was excellent.
We started with a Caprese salad, which had very fresh cheese and nice tomato, although it had a bit more tomato than cheese and too much balsamic. Entrees come with house salads. The salads were nice with very fresh ingredients. I has rhe chicken marsala, which was very good. The chicken was moist and tasty. However, it came with mashed potatoes, which was not mentioned on the menu. My wife thoroughly enjoyed her gnocchi, which were homemade and very fresh.
There was a live accordion playing during dinner. This created very nice atmosphere.
Overall, we had an excellent dinner at Caffe Molise and would not hesitate to eat here again in the future.

Went when the place was completely empty yet it took 45+ minutes to get our food which also came in segments and we finished eating the salad and then had to wait and request that they bring the food out as we had a flight to catch. The food quality was reasonable and quantity decent but service was sub par. We had to request and ask several times for condiments etc. They also charge for parking.

For appetizers we had butternut squash ravioli served in a brown butter/garlic sauce. I would have added sage to the ravioli but the sauce made it a winner. The bruschetta was just ok, and as the toasts sat on the plate they became somewhat saturated and unappetizing.
The caesar salad was an upcharge and it was served at room temperature with no crisp to the lettuce and hardly any dressing on it.
It was my husband's birthday and several times the waiter heard that it was his birthday and never acknowledged until he brought the bill!
The entrees of lamb shank and Bisteca were great. The Chicken Marsala was tender with a great sauce, and the MahiMahi was tasty and a bit on the spicy side. All of the entrees could have been served hotter.

We had a reservation for a party of 6 on a Saturday night in February. About the only thing that went right was that we were sat immediately and on time. We sat at 7:15, ordered drinks and dinner at 7:30 as we had plans afterwards. Drinks arrived in about 10 minutes, dinner was delivered 75 minutes later!!!! We ordered pasta, no appetizers, nothing difficult, just pasta. In what realm of service does it take 75 minutes to serve our meals? One person from our party had to leave 60 minutes in after we still had no food. No second drink was offered, no service whatsoever in 75 minutes! We spoke to the manger whose excuse was, "we like to give people plenty of time to visit and not rush through dinner". Are you kidding me? The kicker is that they still added a 20% gratuity! They did nothing to resolve the problem, not he server or the manager. I will never give them any return business. Very poorly run!

Ate there last night with my wife and daughter. I ordered Orecchiette al Salsiccia. They should probably call it Orecchiette senza Salsiccia. There was like two thin slices of sausage in this big dish of pasta. At most a quarter of an ounce in total. They must get 15 or 20 dishes out of a single italian sausage. Pretty economical on their part but a ripoff for what they charge for it. Very dissatisfied with that. The service was great and the rest was ok but Don’t think We will be going back.

The beautiful building has been restored and has a lovely ambiance. The is a huge selection of drinks, appetizers and mains. The service is friendly but can be a bit slow depending on when you dine. The appetizers are well priced and delicious! It is a wonderful place to meet for before dinner, have dinner or grab a late light drink.

I can't believe this restaurant is considered one of the best Italian restaurant in Salt lake.
This is one of the most beautiful buildings. Spectacular!
All the rest is is average at best.
Our server was insecure, had little knowledge and was incapable of recommending anything.
The Wine list is small and basic
The decor needed love and attention to detail. No plants, bad lighting, etc
No ambience at all. Felt like a cafeteria
The food and its presentation was OK for a franchise the like the Olive Garden
Hope you like it

I just returned from dining at this restaurant and had to write a review. I dined alone, sat at the bar, was taken care of by Scott, the bartender who was great. I ordered pollo marsala, a dish I order often and also make at home. I knew immediately when it was presented to me that I had reason to be concerned. It was too thick, authentic chicken marsala needs to be pounded thinner than a chicken breast. It was also served with mashed potatoes, disappointing as I had hoped for some pasta with marinara sauce. I took one bite and knew my assumption was correct. It was too thick and also the chicken was a cheaper cut. I sent it back and ordered the butternut squash ravioli, which was alright, nothing great. If you're looking for real, authentic Italian in Salt Lake City, do not stop here. K

We had salad , caprese , montalcino wine, mushroom ravioli and eggplant meatballs. Wish waitress had written down the order as she didn’t remember wine or one entree.. but otherwise spotless device , delicious food and it all came out quickly from the kitchen . We walked from near by hotel and enjoyed our meal. No reservation but only took 10-15 min to be seated

We were seated as we arrived to our reservation, with social distanced tables. Our server was exceptional. We had Polenta con Salsiccia as our antipasti and it was an 8/10. We noticed it was so fresh that it almost bordered a tad bland, but we weren't disappointed. It was a nice appetizer. I had the Bistecca and my wife had the Pappardelle al Sugo. They hand make the Pappardelle noodles twice a week, and the dish was delicious. The bistecca was great as well, but we both were very impressed with the Pappardelle al Sugo. Definitely recommend. We had the Tiramisu, which was lacking in flavor, and my wife and I were fighting over the Chocolate Hazelnut Mousse Cake - really good.

We decided to try this restaurant for our anniversary. The restaurant building is very cool, as is a historic building. The main and upper floor have beautiful character and has been furnished with very nice but simple furniture to not upstage the building itself.
There is paid parking across the road and possibly right next to the restaurant, though it says private.
We were promptly seated, and our salads came out very quickly. We had the house and Ceasar. The greens were very tender, though the dressings were good, it was a bit too light. Our server seemed to have too many tables as our soda wasn't refilled hardly at all, and we did have to ask each time for a refill. We tried the paparradelle and the special of the evening, braised beef short rib with a balsamic brown sugar reduction. The entrées were delicious. The pasta itself was amazing and the sauce was delicious. The pork was tender and the basil on top was the perfect fresh touch. The beef was the star of the entrées, the beef was cooked perfectly and had excellent flavor. The micro greens added a nice sharp accent, and the sides were very good also. The tiramisu was our least favorite of the meal. The custard was very dense and slightly bland. While still good, just lack luster compared to the rest of the meal.
Would definitely recommend, and are planning to go again to try it again!

We saw this beautful historic building and looked so farward to eatingat Caffe Molise. . Darby was our waitress and she was amazing. Her wine selection was superb. But then the appetizer came. I'm not sure if we ordered the wrong thing but I did not care for Polenta with mushrooms. Maybe I don't like Polenta. I wasn't' sure what it was and I would never order it again. I kind of wish we took her suggestion of the Aristawhich is pork with a fig compost. ---. the house specialty but since were were splitting (we have small appetites) we went with the orcehtta with sausag ..We then had the orchiette with sausage which was tasty and significantly better.
It was fine but due to the somewhat disappointing food, i don't think I would go back. Great cover precautions.

I have a dairy allergy so I’m always nervous when I go out to eat. Our waitress was super sweet and knowledgeable when I asked about menu items and if she wasn’t sure she would ask. I was able to get a pesto penne with artichokes and chicken and it was soo good! My cocktail was something with moscato too and was delicious. Everyone in our party enjoyed the food. I scored a 2hr parking spot on the street and there is also paid parking next to it. Would recommend!
