Dutch's Daughter is tucked behind a residential area and offers plenty of free parking. You can tell from the exterior statuary that they are different from average restaurants. Indoors beautiful wood panelling is accented with medieval type tapestries and family type photos. After we ordered we were served a small loaf of crusty bread with butter and cinnamon butter. We ordered a Crab Cake Sandwich and a White Reuben sandwich, both which were served with fried potato slices and delicious. The Lemon Chiffon Pie was a shareable portion and also good. Our server Katie was very nice and efficient. The total before tip was $46.54. We would love to return and try some of their other offerings.

First we went to Dutch's it was located in the VFW Country Club building back in the late 1980's. It was wonderful then - and it remains wonderful now. Took my husband for his birthday along with other family members. The drinks were great, the service amazing and the food.... well - every single thing we had was just awesome! Had crab dip and bbq shrimp for appetizers, two cups of cream of crab soup, and amazing entrees. We also splurged on dessert even thought the 'birthday boy' received a complimentary plate of chocolate deliciousness. We all commented on how amazing it is for a restaurant to maintain the same quality food and excellent service over 30 + years of our dining there. It's definitely pricey these days - but we also did have everything from soup to nuts! I cannot recommend this restaurant more highly for special occasions. Just a lovely, lovely place.

My husband and I recently celebrated our anniversary in Frederick, Maryland. I chose this restaurant based on the online menu as we are from out of state. I was skeptical of indoor dining since our state only allows outdoor dining at this point. While making reservations I was offered indoor or outdoor patio dining. The hostess assured us that tables would be at least six feet apart and all CDC safety precautions would be followed. Upon entering the restaurant we were seated at a corner table in a large dining room with adequate spacing between patrons. We enjoyed spectacular service from our waitress, Belen, who went out of her way to make our night extra special. We each started with cream of crab soup followed by Caesar salad for me and house salad with a homemade mustard lemon dressing for my husband. Coupled with warm homemade wheat bread and a choice of whipped or cinnamon butter our palettes were in for a sensational experience. My first entree choice, a French cut pork chop, was not available so I opted for a broiled seafood platter. My husband chose Chicken Oscar which was chicken medallions topped with crab meat and asparagus. My combo included shrimp, scallops, crab cake and crab imperial. Each meal also included your choice of potato or vegetable. As an extra special touch the restaurant served us a beautiful decorative dessert to share for our anniversary. It was a devils food cake filled with whipped cream topped with strawberries and drizzled with chocolate. It came with a lit candle so that we could make a wish. It was an absolute fabulous evening.
Kudos to the management, cooks, and staff for a job well done. We shall return again when we revisit Frederick.

We had not eaten here for about 6 years. It was always an exceptional dining experience both from a food and service standpoint. Our server was "nice" and would have been just fine at a diner or at a $ restaurant. The service was not what I would call attentive. It was "OK." The menu was shocking with what I would consider very expensive prices for the type of restaurant and locale. In my opinion, every item on the menu was priced at $10.00 to $20.00 above the value pricepoint for location and setting. Well, we don't mind paying for exceptional food and service. We were waiting to be "wowed" by our dining experience. That didn't happen, sadly. The food, I had crab saute, was rather blandly presented. My wife can no longer remember what she was served, but at the time she felt it was unexceptional. Our meal with tip, but no alcohol or dessert, was just under $140.00. We just looked at each other. We have easily spent $300.00 or more on meals (we rarely drink any alcohol) at other restaurants before and left those restaurants wowed, vowing to return again. We did not have an experience worth what we paid here, unfortunately. We are not angry. We are just disappointed by our dining experience and the value of the meal. Top-end prices but not an experience to measure up. It is very doubtful that we will return. For those prices, there are so many other interesting restaurants in Frederick and across the river in Virginia. It's kind of sad in a way. Is the place coasting, resting on its previous glory, or just doesn't want to make the effort? Your guess is as good as mine. Average dining for exceptional prices. That is what was exceptional.

A friend and I went for outdoor dining and craving good seafood. Once seated, it took a while to get our order and longer to get our food without an update as to why it took a while. The waitress didn't ask if we wanted other drinks besides water, didn't check in to see how things were and didn't ask about dessert. She spent more time with other parties. The first time I came was solo so I thought the inattentive service was because I was by myself. But this time made me question their reason
for inattentive service. More attentive servers for small parties is something I hope they work on as the food is very good and outdoor ambiance is very nice but the service was poor.
The crab cakes, crab imperial and grilled veggies are delicious. Once we were leaving, someone asked how things were, but I was too late. Check ins much earlier would have made a difference.

This restaurant should be a model for all restaurants. Greeted at the door. Excellent wait staff. Food arrives hot and cooked to perfection. Best broiled lobster tail I have ever had. I normally don't order them because they always come out dry but it came with the broiled platter. Perfectly cooked and very tender. Crab cake delicious as with everything else we ordered. My new "Go to" restaurant!

My friends and I had a delicious and enjoyable lunch here to celebrate my birthday.
We ordered Cream Crab Soup to start our lunch. It had big pieces of Crab meat and was very tasty and delicious. Freshly baked muffins were served for FREE!
Also ordered were Pizza, Salad with 4 big slices of Chicken and Fried Calamari. For drinks, we had tea and beverages. At the end of our lunch, we were given 2 FREE, Big Muffins with strawberries, icing, and small candles to blow after singing the Happy Birthday Song! Total of all our foods and drinks was $99.00 plus tips.
Service was fast and friendly. Trish, our excellent server attended to our needs and provided containers and paper bags for our leftovers. Seating was outside and we were provided Chairs with comfortable Cushions/Pillows
We'll definitely eat here again even though it was a long drive from our homes. We'll try their Sunday Brunch once they start serving it again. Highly recommended!

Three (returning) couples dined here on a fine meal with great service (thank you Haley), ambiance, and friendly staff. My entree was crab cakes and they were EXCELLENT (very few fillers) as were my twice baked potatoes and salad. Others in our group raved about the scallops, New York strip, and baked sweet potatoes. Despite the large turnout on this festive evening, our wait was minimal with reservations.

I set out today to honor my husband for Father’s Day. I was excited to take him to Dutchess daughter because he had never been. We arrived at 1:45 for a 2:00 reservation. The hostess was not polite and took awhile to find the reservation. We were told we would have to wait till 2. Ok that was fine. When we were seated our dining room was very dark and cold. I asked if they could raise the lights and make it warmer. The lights were brought lighter for 5 min. Then went real dim again. I asked our nice waitress to please fix it. She bought the manager to our table who began with “I hear you are upset about the lighting” I said not upset, I just can’t see anything. To which she impolitely explain that’s how the management has it in all the rooms. They cannot fix it. You can go to the outside terrace which was 92 degrees out if I liked. I was not happy but my husband wanted to stay. 20 minutes later another family arrives and complains about the lighting to the same waitress, who speaks to the same manager. And she somehow had more influence than I because they opened the shutters for some wonderful light. Amazing, magic!! Management did change the rules. Just not for me.
The food was good, my Salmon was very fishy to taste.
I will never return to a place that does not respect their patrons.
Shame in you Dutchess daughter!!

It is easy to pass by this restaurant and not be aware of it as a possible place for a good meal.
We were pleasantly surprised by the beautiful arvhite ture and grace of the building.
That grace continued through with every encounter inside. The hostess was genuinely welcoming and we were seated quickly in a stunning room.
Our waiters were prompt and exceedingly polite yet never intrusive or overly forward. The ub sandwich on marbled rye was perfection. Not too crispy with multiple generous layers. The dip sandwich was tender with generous mushrooms and caramelized onions.
The tables were well spaced so that neither social distancing concerns nor others' conversations were an issue. We were never rushed and enjoyed a totally relaxed and delicious meal. We will be back!

We took family to this gem of a restaurant to celebrate my daughter's college graduation. I made reservations one day ahead of time. The service was impeccable, our server made sure everything was timed perfectly from drinks, soup, appetizers to our main course and dessert. The crab soup, , ahi tuna, crab dip and bacon wrapped scallops where delicious. I believe they have one the best Crab cakes I have ever had. It was broiled to perfection with no filler. The steaks come out on a searing hot cast iron skillet plated and was fantastic, perfectly cooked, tender and huge, be prepared to take home leftovers. Thank you for making this a memorable celebration Dutch's Daughter staff and we will definitely make the trip back to see you all again.

Thank gosh restaurants are doing buffets again...we dined here by invitation and were served a real buffet lunch complete with roast chicken, salmon filets, and a carving station for roast beef, with twice baked potatoes, garden salad, rolls, butter, and a vegetable medley (broccoli, cauliflower and carrot strips). All delicious! The host went all out for his guests and I really appreciate it. We've eaten here many times but never have I enjoyed a buffet like this. The servers were great too.

Dutch's Daughter staff were wonderful about meeting my request for patio seating and fully vaccinated wait staff. Our waiter was LK who was absolutely the best. The staff made everything about our celebration memorable from the exceptional food, attentive wait staff, allowing us to bring our own cake then cutting and serving it for us and timing a champagne toast my daughter arranged. It was truly lovely and we will continue to support this gem of a restaurant in Frederick!

The huge parking lot should give some indication of the popularity. This is a large establishment spread over three floors and multiple small dining rooms. There is also a charming bar/ dining area in the basement as well as some patio dining. It is very well organized.
The Service is explementary, efficient, patient, and polite. With smaller dining rooms, the meal for intimacy of a special occasion is possible.
The menu was extensive and diverse. The entre that my partner and I ordered was excellent and superior in taste, presentation and timing. . The dessert we ordered, and split, was tasty and well prepared and easily enough to two. All in all a pleasant dining experience.
Though simultaneously serving hundreds of casual dining guest, our waiter informed us that there were also two wedding receptions and a large birthday gathering occurring at the same time. Extremely well organized management / waite staff.
