Isabella's is an excellent choice for an economic Sunday brunch, especially while outdoor eating is the preference of many diners. We would go back.
The setting is inviting and comfortable. Cheerful red and blue tables and chairs are socially distanced over a seating area extended onto a platform over the entire parking lane in front of the restaurant. Service is warm if somewhat amateurish and hesitant, but the Mex-American specials are quite tasty. I thoroughly enjoyed my huevos with spicy sausages, and my wife was delighted that they easily accommodated her request for small exceptions of preparation and accompaniments (e.g. scrambled eggs instead of poached).
I did forget, however, about Frederick’s blue laws on Sunday morning alcohol. But, goodness, coffee is healthier, right?

We chose Isabella's as a lunch meeting place with another couple. We went for a late lunch to make sure there was plenty of room in the restaurants. They do a remarkable job of providing a comfortable well-spaced indoor option as well as outside dining and curb-side pick-up.
We were very impressed with the tapas lunch special. You choose 3 tapas items for $14.99. There is a great selection and the serving sizes were good for tapas entrees. We were vary happy with the taste of the meatball dish and the shrimp dished. The service was very good. We noticed that they also offer some good values for happy hour.

We stopped here for a late lunch shortly after arriving in Frederick very hungry. We certainly weren't disappointed. We each ordered three tapas and that may have been a tapas too far as the serving sizes were more than ample and nicely prepared. Friendly service too.

Great gem in the center of historic downtown Frederick. Chef Mario Sanchez is a very talented chef who offers wonderful tapas including incredible specials. If you're only eating dinner one night in Frederick, this is the place

We had 6 of us for breakfast on a Saturday. It was wonderful! Beth was our server and was amazingly warm and welcoming. She thoughtfully provided everything we needed (hot sauce, creams, etc) before our meal arrived. She was just so caring and a wonderful server and made our experience pleasantly amazing.
The food was also delicious. On her recommendation, we got the homemade bread. wow. It was fabulous!! Highly recommend!

We were new to Frederick and Isabella's came highly recommended and we were not disappointed. All the selections on the menu, and prices, are for individual tapas. Our waiter was very helpful in his recommendations and exactly how to go about ordering. We selected 3 menu items each (2 of us!) and the food was more than sufficient.
Everything was wonderful but we were especially blown away with the chizo stuffed dates and goat cheese!!! The short rib with goat cheese was also a huge hit (so much so that people at another table had to come over to ask what we had it looked so incredibly good!!)
Do make a reservation though because they are constantly booked!! Enjoy!!!!!

I am one of the fortunate souls who doesn't have to drive far to enjoy all that Frederick has become. Covid though did change the amount of restaurant meals I enjoy regularly. Consequently it had been several years since dining here.
The visit included my wife and our grand daughter for Breakfast. The experience was certainly what I remember from before. When the menu reads, "Authentic" Spanish Food they most certainly deliver that to the diners at Isabella's.
The Huevos was perfect in every way. Appropriate portion, very tasty sauce with just the right level of heat. The French Toast was also well prepared made from thick sliced, fresh bread.
The attentiveness of our waiter made this meal that much more enjoyable. His advice on portions for our grand daughter couldn't have been more helpful.
All in all, this was as good as it gets dining out in a town that is loaded with great restaurants.

This restaurant was highly recommended and lived up to the comments about the service and food. We enjoyed a great evening of drinks and dinner. We tried several items from the menu and everyone sampled the dishes. Great variety and great service.

We decided to try Isabella’s for Mother’s Day. Oh my goodness was it ever good. Our server McKenzie was fantastic. This was our first visit and McKenzie made great recommendations. The fried asparagus is a must try. Their drinks are delicious and the food is seasoned very well. The flavors are amazing. We had a party of four and we tried a varied of Tapas. The octopus was good. The goat cheese was good. The paella was unbelievable. Ours had shrimp, scallops, lump crab, and mussels. Plus rice and so forth. Out of this world. Thanks to McKenzie for making our brunch experience memorable. We will definitely come back.

Wonderful selection of well priced tapas. We shared the fried asparagus, short ribs with mashed potatoes, goat cheese fritters and a cinnamon brownie and ice cream dessert….perfection! We were seated next to the fireplace (on a chilly night) and the service was attentive but not at all rushed.
Definitely recommend this well established, enduring favorite spot.

Surprising gourmet experience, and startlingly affordable considering the high quality of the food. Not huge quantities, but amazing flavor, which is what we went for. (If you want masses of flavorless starch and protein for not much, go to Cracker Barrel.)

I recently went there for lunch with another family member and had an extremely enjoyable experience there. The food was so awesome, especially the Asparagus fries and the Beef Empanadas. It's always fun to share the Tapas plates and the food generally tends to come out pretty quickly. Although some of the portions are small, you can always ask for some bread on the side, to help fill yourself up. My father always loves to dip a side of bread in the amazingly delicious garlic butter sauce, when he orders Mussels. It's always a lively and busy place to be at.

The food was decent, the Chef s daily special was great. Yet the price did not match the food portion at all - how come would a regular looking restaurant with a super hustle bustle ambience has the price of a fine dining one, especially the service was horrible? Dinner experience was ruined from the beginning with condescending attitude of the young lady who was seating us. Would more than happy to pay the price for the food, but the staff attitude made the price not worth it!

Didn't expect to have the best fries, but they were awesome. The chicken sandwich on ciabatta bread also had a perfect combo of feta, aioli, avocado. The chicken soup was very tasty. Busy rustic place, hostess was not the friendliest, but the bartender was nice. The service was not the speediest. Very laid-back, but it was a great lunch.

My wife and I enjoy tapas and have been to a few restaurants specializing in them. Our previous favorite was Just a Taste, in Ithaca, which is, sadly, closed. Isabella's is our new favorite. We enjoyed everything we had: the goat cheese fritters, the asparagus "fries", the dates stuffed with goat cheese and chorizo, the artichoke and crab dish, and especially the mussels. Just wow. Helpful and attentive waiter, just a terrific place
