The Wine KItchen was a bit of a surprise. I expected it to be a bit more formal but it is a very laid-back restaurant. This was our first visit and they have a daily menu so it changes often.
We ordered a cabernet sauvignon from the wine list and started with a cheeseboard. Both of us ordered a burger that was on today's menu and it was absolutely perfect, which is highly unusual.
This restaurant sits on side of Carroll Creek which can be lovely in the Spring. They had both indoor & outdoor dining. With Covid19 rules in place, it is best to make a reservation.
The wait staff was a bit slow but I believe this was due to so many restrictions and a staff that must serve inside and outside.
We were very happy with our lunch and plan to return for dinner soon.

My wife and I ate lunch there last week for the first time at the recommendation of friends. We both ordered the steak sandwich with salad. The presentation was very appealing and portion size was just right. The dressing on the salad was very tasty. However, the salad needed more than just mixed greens. A few pine nuts and several slices of Mandarin orange would complement the taste of the delicious dressing. The bread for the steak sandwich was amazingly fresh and the beef was tender. My only concern with the sandwich was that the horseradish sauce overwhelmed the flavors of the beef, onions and mushrooms. I think serving the horseradish on the side would be better. We had a good experience and meal and will definitely try it again.

Fredrick is a delightful place to visit full of character, history, shops and restaurants to mention just a few of it's charms. The Carroll Creek is another reason to visit and enjoy. The creek has beautiful water lilies, ducks and sculptures. We choose to dine at The Wine Kitchen for an Anniversary Dinner and we were delighted with the service and food. We started with the Fried Green Tomatoes, beautifully golden brown and a nice dipping sauce. The oysters were plump and sweet and served on bed of ice. The 8oz. Braised Short Rib was fork tender, and the sauce light but perfect. Served with Mashed Potatoes that were fabulous - buttery, chunky, and perfect with the Short Rib and green beans cooked al'dente. The 8oz Dry Aged Filet Mignon was perfectly cooked! Served with the mashed potatoes and green beans it was fork tender. A full bar with many drink specials topped off a perfect dinner. Sorry no desert - we spotted an ice cream shop down the walk that was calling out name! I must mention our server, William B, who did an outstanding job and made sure we had all we needed.

Went there for lunch during the Christmas holiday. First, disappointed that the cocktails were for Fall, it’s the holiday season and was hoping for a holiday drink! The wine selection is good, not great… limited. For lunch, I had the steak and cheese, my sister too. It was delicious and well prepared! I loved that it was on a brioche bun! My Uncle had the mushroom strudel served with a green salad, he said it was very fresh and good flavor. My Aunt had the salmon salad and she said the salmon was very well prepared, not overcooked. The desserts, however were the disappointment. The kitchen sink was cooked too much , not a warm moist cookie, and the extra cost of a very small scoop of ice cream was ridiculous. My uncle had the cookies and cream and he said it was served way too cold and had absolutely no flavor. The service was very good in the beginning, but we were one of the first customers and as the place began to get crowded our server seemed less interested in us.
Would I go back? Maybe….but more places to try in Frederick first!

Was a regular here, never again!
Made a reservation for two tables of six on Sunday (all pretested and work together).
Sent the owner Jason an email asking if there were options for flavored mimosas or could pay for pitchers never responded, I called and spoke with a manager, she said Jason would call back, never did. I went into the restaurant and spoke with the General Manager she said she would have him call and still nothing. We made other arrangements.

It was nice to sit by the creek on a sunny day, but the food was terrible. Even the French Fries were tough. The pulled pork sandwich had a soggy bun that looked like it just came out of a microwave. The pulled pork itself was very poor quality with what was supposed to be a peach sauce on it. Whatever it was, don't order this. I also ordered a $10 dessert, which was a small portion of very dark chocolate cake with a tablespoon of vanilla ice cream. It was bitter, awful and a rip off.

We were told that this was the place to go for a great dinner. This couldn't have been the worst recommendation ever. First off starting in the bar, the server was intentionally rude, which was strange as the other staff members were nice enough. The bar food was reasonable and tasty, On to dinner...first off this is not a steak house, it's a wanna be steak house. The cooks (not chefs) cooking food need to be trained better, the food service needs to be checked for correctness and look, the plating was not in level with the cost of the product. I love good food, this was not even close to exhibiting good food. Now you can call it an off night but honestly, 4 meals? The baked potato whatever is horrible, the filet, under seasoned, the wagyu beef, come on 2 strips of meat, sad! No flavour.
All in all, I read through the reviews on excellent and again I'm reminded that some people don't have a clue, or in many cases have any idea what a good meal should look and taste like.
Be aware the food quality, service and presentation is not in line with the price of the meal.

my daughter and granddaughters took me here. my birthday is the day after Valentines Day so usually the restaurants are slow, but this night was particularly busy. we were seated in a back room away from the crowd. I had the lamb which was perfect, the waiter was attentive but not over bearing, we shared desserts that were amazing. I will definitely return here with friends and family.

On a recent trip to Frederick for our anniversary, we stopped here for lunch. Sadly, the patio was full, but the dining room had nice ambiance as well. We had the lobster roll special and the steak salad. The lobster roll was tasty, but not particularly authentic. (We did just return from a trip to Cape Cod, so the bar is high.) the lobster was chopped small and there was too much celery. My husband loves the steak salad. The flavors were a good mix and the steak was cooked perfectly. When we mentioned it was our anniversary, our waiter, Justin, was kind enough to surprise us with a Maryland Swiss roll for dessert. It was better than we expected! The Old Bay seasoning was subtle and tasty with the chocolate and caramel!

While visiting our son and his family we drove to Frederick on a beautiful fall Sunday for Brunch. Our original restaurant choice had a wait time of 90 minutes, but with a recommendation from a friend we decided to try The Wine Kitchen - a very happy choice indeed. I had the mushroom strudel with its buttery flaky pastry and my husband chose the salmon benedict, served on challah toast instead of the usual English muffin - both delicious. Also receiving raves were the avocado toast (actually a tower of avocado slices topped with a fried green tomato and bacon), the potato and goat cheese quiche of the day and the chilaquiles, a yummy Mexican version of scrambled eggs. All of the menu selections exceeded our expectations and the service was excellent. I will definitely plan to return on my next trip to the area

Last minute reservation at 815pm, nice table waiting amidst a full dining room. Service was prompt and professional. We started with sparkling wine and beet salads. Excellent. I had the short rib and Owen had the ribeye. Owen said my meal was much more flavorful (I agreed), and the ribeye was average but good (he ate every bite). We opted to forego dessert and finish with more sparkling wine. I will say the short rib was one of the best I've had, and I tend to try it whenever on a menu. The portions were appropriate, just the right size, as we hate food waste. This was our second visit and we remain impressed.

We had a great meal on the terrace. The weather was perfect and the water lilies were in bloom.
We had reservations for 5:45 but came at about 4:30 since we were advised that the outdoor tables were first come first serve. We hadn't had lunch so coming early worked out. It was full by 5:30. We had the beet salad which is truly a star dish. I had the mussels and my husband had the crabcake. Both were good. I would have liked a bit more heat with the mussels but then, that is often true with me.

My wife and I dined at this restaurant this past week while visiting Frederick for the first time.
The food was excellent, although somewhat pricey. My wife had the red premium wine flight, which was also a little pricey, but but very good the server that we had was delightful. However, somehow our appetizer got mixed up, and the server brought an additional appetizer at no additional cost. This restaurant is definitely worth a stop if you are in Frederick in the historic district.

Jason Miller, the owner, may answer your call because he has decorators in making the place even more attractive. Jason expects to have renovations completed before March. We love the menu choices, and we hope he keeps several of the Eggs Benedict variations on his new menu. Our fave is the Maryland crabcake version. of the Eggs Benedict, and it is nicknamed the "Benny." Many good selections for the "Wine Tasting Flights." When the weather warms up sit outside by Carroll Creek and watch the ducks swim by.

We dropped by for a drink. We were seated right away and not at the bar. We were not told that only guys who order food may have a table. We ended up having a lunch with wine and cocktails. Our waiter was a champ, very cordial and professional at the same time. The lady walked in alone with a baby and was not refused as well as a bunch of other people with two or three strollers. Really appreciated. Nevertheless, the establishment did not look like a cheap eats joint. I think their great attitude pays back to that business. Highly recommended. We will be back.
