Couldn't Have Been Better

The decsion to have dinner here was made spontaneously as we walked by and had a look at the menu. It offered a terrific selcetion of sustainable items at a price point that didn't take our breath away. From the greeting to the attentive, charming server, we were comfortable and glad to be there. The food was just excellent, the beverage (and food) choices tasty and well explained. We may have just been passing through Frederick, but The Orchard would probably tip our decision if we ever considered being in those parts again.

Excellent food and allergy aware

Service is great. My wife got the chicken parmigiana and creamy pasta. I worked with the waiter and kitchen to modify a dish that i could eat. I got a chicken stir fry that was excellent. Highly recommend this restaurant.

Healthy and hearty!

Certain people really love the Orchard - I like it a lot and go there regularly - I find it a bit uneven and some of the portions are way too big for me - but that's me. But the service and ambiance are lovely and it's very clean and somewhat homey. You definitely feel that love went into the food.

A good place for a relaxing lunch

The Orchard is small and very busy, and can become crowded on a Saturday afternoon. But the menu and the staff more than make up for this. Because we had our extended family there, we all ordered a large number of items from the menu, and everyone thoroughly enjoyed their meal.

Great Lunch!

We were waiting to take a walking tour of Frederick and stopped in for a quick bit to eat for lunch. The food was so incredibly fresh, served with great care, and very delicious. My husband had the gazpacho which he just raved over because it was just spicy enough and had nice chunks of tomato and fresh veggies. I had the cobb salad which was outstanding --- it was served not as a chopped salad, rather each item individually cut around a nice (but not overwhelming) bed of romaine. Others around us seemed to have great dishes as well and we were sad not to have more time to enjoy a longer lunch. Definitely would recommend!!!

Giving up our favorite spot, sadly

This has fallen out of favor as our delightful place to have lunch in Frederick. They have a creative menu with many heart healthy dishes, something for all. Their staff is great, but our last two lunches went from meh to a decion with our most recent lunch to locate something new. Just to sum it up, our lunch a month ago was 50% good food (Thai noodles) to 50% overcooked dry chicken. But we returned because we love it. This lunch today as a real disappointment. One dish was SW hard crack over baked flatbread, topped with, again, dry overcooked chicken. The other was my favorite salmon on salad. I asked when ordering for no red onions and a sesame dressing. It arrived, with onions and a different dressing, neither of which we immediately noticed. Lifting up some greens to eat, I discovered red onions, through out the salad. Trying the dressing, it was not the correct one. The place was crowded so by the time we saw our waitress again, the red onions had been picked out and my partner's dressing shared. When we saw our server and told her, we checked she had indeed heard the requests, which she acknowledged. No further reply or action on her part as I had already started eating the salad denuded of onions. When the bill arrived, she explained that two salmon salads that two people had ordered similar, and she gave me the wrong one. Apology and here is your bill! We were not expecting or wanting a total write off but when it was confirmed it was the wrong order, sone adjustment would have been appreciated. We are not likely to return for a third strike.

Amazing sandwich

We stopped at The Orchard while shopping in Fredrick on a Saturday. I ordered the southwest crispy chicken sandwich. It was amazing. Hot crispy chicken with melted cheese and avocado. The sauce was just the right amount of spicy and the bread was soft. I'll go there again when in town.

Loved this place.

We went here for a somewhat late lunch. We were visiting the area so did not know what we were getting into. It is in a downtown-like area so has no parking lot. We were able to find nearby parking pretty quickly though, even though the streets were bustling with people. We were travelling. One of the reasons we found this place online was due to my daughter's dietary allergy needs (Gluten and dairy). They worked with that very well and we overheard them working with other tables as well. Among us, we got stir-fry bowls, chicken parm, a salad, and dessert. All food was delicious.

Sadly a disappointment

The Orchardi has always been a Reliable favorite. Today I took my granddaughter with me. I ordered the vegetable salad and she ordered chicken Parmesan. Her meal was inedible. The chicken was drying overcooked and the accompanying pasta was over sauced. The waitress recommended the white bean soup and it was too salty, and I couldn’t eat it. My salad was passable, however the hummus was a disappointment. When it was time to pay, it was obvious that my granddaughter had not touched her mail. No questions were asked. Sadly, I will not be returning soon.

The best Tuscan white bean soup

A friend and I were in Frederick for just one day. The Orchard was recommended by the staff at InBloom Jewelry. Cute place with more space than anticipated from the outside. The Tuscan white bean soup may have been the best I've ever eaten. Very flavorful & the beans were tender without being mushy. The Greek salad was not like any other Greek salad I've had but it was very good. Many different vegatables & a dressing that was incredibly good. My friend had the Polynesian stir fry & was very happy with it. She also said the root beer (don't recall the brand) was the best she'd ever had. Our server was delightfully personable.

Wonderful selection of delicious entrees filled with lots of veggies! I got the curry bowl with chicken and had plenty to take home for lunch the next day. Hubs got the Japanese bowl and loved it. For dessert we shared a piece of coconut cream pie and it was yum. Very nice place and seems to be quite popular!

Fresh food, attentive service, reasonably priced

4 of us arrived for an early dinner on a weekday. We were greeted warmy, shown to a table and given menus. Waitress (Mary) was friendly and efficient. Drinks and meals were tasty and fresh. Atmosphere was pleasant and welcoming. Would definitelly recommend.

Well worth the visit with a delightfully creative menu

It may be small, but this place packs a punch. The menu is quite varied from delicious appetizers to full two course meals and everything in between. My sweet and sour soup was very flavorful and chock full of many vegetables. The chicken sandwich was on the most delicious light wheat (?) bread that was firm and soft at the same time. The waiter said in was made on site and if they have extra, one can buy a loaf. We happily did. Great peo pull e watching spot in a sweet shopping area.
