Relaxed yet elegant place for dinner. Wide variety of sushi and inventive cocktails. The location was beautiful with some tables located in a Japanese-style 'garden' in the center of the restaurant.

Really great food and worth a visit, the quality of the sushi is very good and beautifully presented. The atmosphere is slightly dull, however the staff are really helpful.
This place serves Americanized Japanese food. The food is not authentic. We ordered two rolls and they were filled and topped with random things (e.g., Thai sweet chili sauce). The waitress was not accommodating.
Eating at Momiji was such a treat. Beautiful garden, tables were well spaced, servers were all masked and best of all the food was amazing. Try the fried rice special sushi - so good! We found this gem by luck on our one night in...Seattle!More
The best time to hit Momiji is during their happy hour 4-6pm everyday (and 4-7 if you are it the bar). If you don't have a reservation, which you will need to schedule a few days in advance of through OpenTable, show up 15 minutes...before they open. Trust me, happy hour it is worth the short 15min wait in the rain. I suggest passing on the fun named sushi rolls and putting your dollars towards the sashimi set, at $11 during happy hour its a steal. Pair with complementary edamame and a cocktail of your choice. It's the perfect way to start your evening. The food and service are quick, but feel free to linger and take your time. After finishing feel free to wander the Capital Hill neighborhood for a delightful post-happy hour stroll.More
In a noisy but lovely setting, Momiji serves tasty imaginative high quality sushi. The restaurant is always crowded.
Happy hour offers some enticing choices, but the standard is not consistent. The calamari and kal bi bites were small and dry. Sushi rolls also are good. Regular menu items of note: the tomato/okra/tofu and nabeyaki udon are excellent.
Located in what seemed like a rather low profile neighbourhood and with a not so loud shopfront, Momiji is in fact a trendy Japanese place to eat some creative rolls. It has nice seating area surrounding a glazed Japanese garden. The food was good, slightly...pricey but a wonderful place for a date or late night snack.More
Came here on a Tuesday night around 6pm with no reservation, we waited no more than 5 minutes which was great, but were told they had another party coming at 7:45pm and asked if an hour and 45 minutes would be enough for us, we...said yes since it was more than enough for us. They have some seating when you first walk in but the main focus is the bar. Atmosphere is lovely, dimly lit and overall romantic and warm vibes. Down the hall they have two eating areas basically separated by an enclosed courtyard (which we couldn't see that well since it was dark, but it looked pretty!), we got lucky and had a table right next to the window. There were other couples there, but mostly groups. They have an extensive drink menu which was awesome. The bf got a Nido King and I went with a glass of the plum wine, while the drinks were good I def was expecting a standard sized glass of wine and was pretty disappointed in how tiny it was, as it barely lasted me through dinner. They have a pretty big sushi menu as well, mostly consisting of 'special' rolls. We got veggie gyoza to start (they also served edamame which was nice!) and got 3 rolls. They were all fresh and incredibly delicious, which is what I'd expect for the price. The rolls were 12pcs each and were generally the size of regular sushi rolls (small ish) so it was incredibly filling too. I'm still thinking of the 007, easily the best roll I've ever had! This place was expensive so I wouldn't recommend coming here just for lunch, but definitely more for a night with friends or for a date!More
I can understand the draw for places like these. They have a very extensive menu, one of the most extensive ive seen for sushi places. The fish is fresh, the rolls are great and the prices are pretty standard for Seattle sushi joints. A lot...of their rolls have a sauce and they have refined sugar in them so I am not a big fan of that. I am more into traditional sushi or inventive sushi that showcases the fish and the raw ingredients and none of the sauce or the deep fried stuff. The service is just ok and the place is super loud, its really hard to talk in places like these. I might be back here but might just stick with the traditional sushi rolls or even try their non sushi dishes.More
We had dinner and it was absolutely wonderful the best I have had in Seattle. The quality of the fish is superior, rolls are magnificent and the saki is excellent. The interior of the restaurant is unique a bar area with full menu plus, inside...the actual restaurant there is a sushi chef. There is also other seating available for more intimate dining. The unique glassed in interior area and lighting are beautiful. I will definitely return . The soft shell crab was perfectly prepared served over farm to table greens . The rolls are all made using top quality fresh ingredients . Make reservations well in advance and if you have to wait not to worry. This is amazingly good sushi - have one if their unique cocktails and enjoy .More
When I first walked into Momiji, I thought the bar and handful of tables were it. I was pleasantly surprised when the host led me down the hall and into another part of the restaurant that was spacious and looked out to a Japanese garden....There is another room on the other side of the garden so this restaurant is quite big. It was busy for a Sunday evening, but the staff were quick and efficient. My friend and I had the Ozen sampler and it was so good. I thought the price was reasonable for so much food (miso soup, sashimi, tempura, etc.).More
The restaurant itself is quite charming and I really wanted to like it. It has an open area in the middle with trees which is quite unique. Our server was adequate, but he had about zero personality. The sushi was okay, but not as tasty...as I had hoped. Plus, it's very overpriced. We had a much better experience the previous weekend with our daughter in Pismo Beach and it cost $30 less for the same amount of sushi. My son and I ate the sushi and we were fine. But my husband ate the yakisoba and he got horrible food poisoning from it. Be careful! I wouldn't recommend this restaurant when there are so many better places to eat in Seattle.More
We enjoyed a few varieties of rolls, the flat iron steak, a salad with octopus and I washed it down with the raspberry minty Hello Kitty cocktail. The courtyard garden in the center in the back of the restaurant is as surprising as it is...pretty. If only the restaurant was as meditatively peaceful as this oasis seems. It’s a bit noisy, especially during the happy hours. The food is well-prepared and presented. The service is awkward, slow then fast and I felt a judgmental attitude from the server. We weren’t sure what to think of that really. We’ll keep it on our back pocket list. My guess is that if the stars are aligned, we might enjoy a zen moment with friendly respectful service.More
I especially recommend the sashimi selection. Try to book on the terrace if the weather permits. Good and friendly service
