Five years ago, my wife and I visited Seattle and had an extraordinary experience at Spinasse. When we decided to return to the city for a fun trip, Dinner at Spinasse was an anchor on our itinerary. Unfortunately, they didn’t seem as glad to see...us. Our first and second courses arrived simultaneously, before we had even sipped our cocktails. We told our server we would want wine after cocktails, but we had finished our entree before our server even came back to ask about wine. From sit down to appetizer to entree was under 30 minutes. We expected a two hour seating and we’re ready to order more food and drink. I guess they needed the table back. Great food…but we felt rushed and it was far from the dining experience we remembered. Three courses in under an hour sent the signal that they were turning tables. Not the destination experience we expected.More

Unreal. Amazing service, Luis was phenomenal and made the delicious dinner 10x better because he was 100% in it and on it. He enjoyed his job and it showed, which made the experience even more enjoyable. Luis knowledge was great and his attitude was top...notch - i have and will recommend this place to everyone that will listen. Truly amazing service made the meal taste even better.More

The food is wild. Really tasty. The service..... well I very very seldomly tip 10 percent or less but the service was poor. The waiter started by trying to dictate what we should order and was generally uninterested in our experience. But again.... the food...was to die for.More

Absolutely fabulous Italian eatery. The team were amazing chef presented the food himself and it was delicious. Brilliant find, they even charged my iPhone after flying that morning from the UK. Good veggie options too, would definitely recommend.

This place is pretty busy so walk-ins are hard. My kids were hungry so I asked to be seated at the counter. I was willing to wait for an hour but the lady's attitude was off-putting. Who does send a customer to "go to another...restaurant down the block"? The other staff was also asking us to "wait for the table at the park nearby". Needless to say, we preferred to leave. If you like good pastas with attitude, this may be the place to go.More

Spinasse is known as the best Italian restaurant in Seattle, and a reservation is difficult to attain. It is also known for being "Seattle concerned," and doing the right thing. But their crowning may have caused Spinasse not to try as hard, because our dinner...outside on a sultry Sunday evening in July was good, but didn’t match the greatness I remember from the past. A bland appetizer with burrata was so unmemorable, I forgot the rest of the ingredients. Spinasse did take it off our bill when someone at our table complained. The fine hand-cut egg yolk pasta with cultured butter and sage was magnificent and saved the evening, but the fine hand-cut egg yolk pasta with pork and beef ragù was not appropriate for the fine cut noodles. The ragu didn’t stick to the noodles because they were too thin. Thus, the pasta, although well made, was very bland. Everyone did rave about the heirloom tomatoes. Service was perfunctory, exhibiting what I coin Seattle professionalism. It was robotic, and we were faceless patrons, not much different than animated characters on a computer screen. What was once the Seattle freeze is now the Tech soulless, a malaise attacking the Emerald City with a vengeance. Soon robots will replace servers, and at certain establishments, we won’t know the difference. Sadly, I think Spinasse has lost its soul along with millions of others who spend more time interacting with machines than people.More

The food and service was amazing. We were there to celebrate my son’s graduation from university. It was the perfect restaurant for such an occasion!

We chose Spinasse after reading recommendations on the local press. Of the 20 top Seattle restaurants, we eliminated the ones too far from our hotel, one with a dress code, a few not serving outdoors (it’s still COVID time as I wrote this) and landed...on Spinasse. What perfect luck!!! We arrived a few minutes early for our reservation and we’re graciously shown to a table that met all of my requests when I made the reservation. Our server was lovely and went out of her way to help us plan a perfect meal. We started with two appetizers… prosciutto with a bit of apple…. Fabulous if you love prosciutto. The star for us was the stuffed cippolini topped with a rich broth; the kitchen runner who brought it to the table correctly predicted we’d finish our bread soaking up the sauce. We split a green salad, then feasted on three outstanding pasta dishes. The rabbit angliotti special, a beef ragu over a thin pasta and mushroom cavatelli were knockouts. All pasta was house made and really well done. They offer a nice selection of Piedmonte wines, with the option is 3 serving sizes or the bottle. We travel to Italy, and dine out often and are happy to say this rates in our top 10 dining experiences. We’ve spent a lot more in return for a lot less. Perfect way to spend our last night in Seattle.More

Visited Spinasse on Sunday evening - everything from service, food and ambience was top-notch. We decided to splurge on the tasting menu which was excellent. Nearly everything was a highlight - but the onions - of all things - stood out as spectacular and unusual....The pastas were so delicate and rich and flavorful - best I’ve ever had. We were pretty full by the time the entrees arrived - but all (lamb shank, halibut and steak) were perfectly executed. Our waiter could not have been nicer and more professional. This place is not inexpensive, but I could easily see returning for a simple plate of pasta and some greens - but it would be hard to pass up those onions - ever!More

This is one of the best upscale Italian restaurants I've been to. Don't expect to be stuffed after your meal but do expect to receive a treat for your palate. The bartenders are good at their craft. Two of us ordered a beef ragu with...egg noodles. The ragu was not tomato based but had a rich beefy flavor. My wife ordered the halibut which was moist and perfectly cooked. The staff was well trained and accommodating.More

The food was excellent - northern Italian. Our server was friendly. Each time our course arrived, the dish was placed with the wrong person - we had to keep switching the plates around. The manager was very unfriendly and dismissive. I found this an unusual...and uninviting approach for a restaurant business. He certainly did not make us feel welcome; in fact, the opposite. I would not choose to go there again - lots of fabulous restaurants with great food and a warm welcome.More

Big deal. I am pescatarian, but if you are vegetarian it will be slim pickings at Spinasse. The endive salad was delicious and the tajarin was magical. Overall friendly albeit slightly rushed service. A perfect place to celebrate with friends. Glad that the COVID measures...were strict and vaccine cards + masks were required.More
