What an amazing place! Atmosphere was electric. And now for the food - we started with the lobster dumplings at the suggestion of our hotel clerk. Very good. For our main course, I had the Swordfish - best ever, and my husband had the Cast...Iron Chicken Breast, which was equally good. We indulged and had desert , which our waiter said was the best, Salty Malty Ice Cream Pie, spectacular! Service was very good here.More

The food was outstanding and wait staff exceptional. Atmosphere was beautiful although a bit loud but manageable. My only complaint was the espresso. I had asked if espresso was available and was told yes. I received a demitasse of Regular coffee and not espresso. Thus...the reason for my four star review.More

This was my third trip to NOLA where I ate at GW Fins. It has been consistently excellent and one of my favorite restaurants not just in NOLA but in the country. We ordered three different entrees and all were delicious and perfectly prepared. Service...was great. And (as we learned the hard way) ... make sure men have collared shirts.. but if they don't, GW Fins will loan you one.More

I loved this experience. We enjoyed an excellent meal in one of the smaller dining rooms which I really appreciated. The fish, calamari, drinks, and atmosphere were perfect.

We had a wonderful anniversary celebration dinner. The local “catch” was well prepared. Excellent accompaniments to give a fine culinary flair. Staff were attentive and gracious.Nice atmosphere. Wouldn’t know you were steps from Bourbon Street, which was not a plus for us. Nice wine list,...fairly priced. Highly Recommend!More

We had a great time with Joey! He made great selections and greater conversation. Soft shell crab was delicious as was the tilefish. Will definitely go again! Thanks for a great meal!!

Excellent service and an expansive wine list. Our server was very knowledgeable on wine recommendations as well as explaining the menu. We shared a bottle of wine and ordered the Parmesan crusted flounder and the yellow fin tuna. The flounder was very tasty but needed...more sauce, the yellow fin tuna was spectacular and very filling. We also had the coconut dessert and it was unique and good. The only downside was that it was incredibly loud in the dining room. I could not hear the person in front of me talking.More

GW Fins is our favorite restaurant in New Orleans, and when you have one of the best restaurants in New Orleans, you buy definition have one of the best restaurants anywhere. The service is outstanding and the food is off the charts. When you go,...you definitely should try the Scalibut, which is their own creation. Is a combination of scallops and halibut. No matter what you choose, you will not be disappointed.More

Didn't have a booking but managed to get a seat in bar area. Server was very efficient and helpful with menu and wine selection. After first course, asked server to book us in for another dinner, which he managed to do. Second visit did not...disappoint.More

My husband and I booked GW Fins to celebrate our wedding anniversary as part of our vacation to New Orleans as it had come highly recommended and we'd seen great reviews. We were really looking forward to what was our final dinner of the trip,...and it did not disappoint. We were sat in a spacious booth which had kindly been decorated to congratulate us on our anniversary, which was a nice touch. Our server, Aaron Martin, was wonderful - so friendly and welcoming and he did a brilliant job. This was by far our favourite meal of the trip. The food was exceptional - we enjoyed the calamari and shrimp tostada to start (the tostada was so fresh and flavourful!), the pork chop and yellowfin tuna for entree and split a white chocolate bread pudding for dessert which was insane. The cocktails were awesome and we were also kindly given a second free dessert to celebrate our anniversary. Thank you, GW Fins for an unforgettable celebration!More

This is a meal that we will be talking about for years! We were taken right on time for our reservation and taken to a beautiful table. The hostess and server were wonderful. And there are not enough words to describe the food, GW Fins...has ruined other seafood restaurants for me! Magnifique! I started with the fried oysters and had the #1 bluefin tuna as my entrée. My husband had the lobster dumplings in the redfish for his meal. Absolute delicious! The hostess had encouraged us to save room for dessert, and we were glad we did!More

GW Fins hit it out of the park for a birthday dinner. Exceptional service, including their pre-entree biscuits and a surprise excellent gluten free corn muffin for one who could not eat the biscuit. Dinner was "scall-ibut", a perfect entree of halibut and scallops, with...risotto and broccolini. The halibut was cooked to perfection, followed up by a variety of deserts around the table. Following tip on trip advisor, we made a reservation and were seated promptly on a Saturday evening. Came in from Seattle and will make sure to have dinner at GW Fins again on our next trip. It's just that good!More
