This was our first visit to Bassett Street Breakfast. There was a 40 min wait on a Saturday morning, but we put in our name and walked to the farmer’s market until they texted us. Our family enjoyed the Breakfast burritos and omelettes. A fun college campus atmosphere. Would recommend.

I absolutely love the eggs Benedict I had at Bassett street brunch club. The caramelize crunchy prosciutto droplets on the top of the hollandaise were delicious. The salsa Verde and roasted tomato instead of the typical Canadian bacon tasted so good even for a meat lover like myself. I also had a very delicious savory biscuit. The espresso was perfect. the service good

Good breakfast, even better coffee.
There are many things to like about this place. It has a retro ambiance, friendly staff, and very good coffee. Still, the food was uneven. I had the breakfast burrito which was helped tremendously by the (not very spicy) chorizo chili. Definitely get the spuds side dish with it. Had I not had the chili, however, this would have been one bland dish.
Still, all in all, I will return.

So food is not bad at all, but services is not great. We also tried the online ordering (from their web site) to only find that the whole ordering system auto canceled the order, so we called in and pressed 2 to place an online order only to ring 10 times and be dropped back to the first voice menu. Then selecting the host we got a human who said yup they had online ordering on the site but that they didn't have it hooked up and asked us to call the bar to place an order. Didn't feel their food was worth this much trouble.

Sat outside on the patio a Saturday brunch. Spacing was acceptable. Good service as was the food. Menus Include basics as well as afew meals with a little twists. Also saw they had a nice 3-5 happy hour (beer $3, wine $4 etc). Would love to drop by and try it out.

I looked up different breakfast joints and picked this one only because it was close to the Office. It the right choice!! Service was prompt and nice. We had a young gal named Sam and she was delightful. All her suggestions were right on. As other reviews said, the chicken & donut was to die for. Bloody Mary had the tastiest little pickles on top & another TDF was my mom's pick of "Savory French Toast". 4 of us ate 8 different things and not 1 complaint. You might need a nap after but you NEED to stop by this place if you are in or near Madison.

The menu looks great but I didn’t have anything. After more than 20 minutes and multiple requests, the servers didn’t bring anything. It wasn’t particularly busy, just seems to be terribly run. Sad. Great location and a missed opportunity.

Good service. I popped in for a lite lunch and to pass some time. I ordered poutine. French fries were fine, gravy tasted odd and there was a clump of melted cheese curds on top. I ate about 10 fries- the rest went in the garbage. No offer to replace with a different item or a discount.

Finally checked this place off the list after several years. We had stopped once on a weekend before a Badger basketball game, and it was too busy to get in and still make the tip off. We were not disappointed. After much debate (there are so many good looking menu items), I decided on the Eggs Benedicto with the Breakfast Potatoes. With a bloody mary, of course. Service at the bar was excellent. Would highly recommend!

stumbled on this place for brunch while looking for a place to open for lunch!
This restaurant is tucked along the Hampton Inn and is accessible to their lobby.
I ordered their cinnamon French toast made with Chala bread and it was the best I have ever had!
My friend had a fantastic egg and bagel breakfast sandwich while my husband had coffee, salad and tomato pepper soup.
They also serve eclectic other breakfast meals and specialty donuts!

When visiting Madison, my family and I never miss an opportunity to dine at Bassett!
We love the amazing, creative brunch menu and the staff is always so friendly and welcoming. Ingredients are fresh and portions are huge. We’ve never been disappointed!
The happy hour is also great!

The BSB has a lot going for it. Nice ambiance, fun people watching, and all that energy that comes from being near the center of everything…,
Wife ordered the “grilled cheese” and it was very tasty but not as cheesy as hoped. A healthier version. On the other hand, the tomato soup was INCREDIBLE— perhaps the best she has ever had!
I had the Mother Clucker, and it was excellent! Very tasty, while also being quite healthy.
Parking can be tough around campus. We got two hours free in the hotel parking lot (with stamp from restaurant) and only used 1 hour. Could have toured State Street, which was only a block (or two?) away, with that extra hour. Opportunity lost! :)

Friendly staff. Quick and attentive service. Great breakfast food with mix of traditional American and a few variations. Lots of food. Opportunity try order a limited variety of unique and delicious donuts.

My adult daughter and I got take out at 11:30 on a Saturday morning. I had eggs benedict, it was absolutely delicious. My daughter had the Spring Break Diet bowl, which was also very good. Cappuccino and horchata hot drinks were also good. They had the food ready to go very quickly and service was professional. We will be back as my daughter is moving in just a couple blocks away!

Why open the doors if you're not going to care for your customers? I wonder if the staff is just some don't-care, never-trained students and local hangers-on. Better quality food would be a good idea, too. What a totally missed opportunity!
