Great steaks!

We ordered for pickup but they did away with curbside so we had to go in for our order. Food is good for take out but it would have been better enjoyed hot out of their kitchen-not complaining due to Covid. We enjoyed our steaks, they use high quality meat and were cooked perfectly. For dessert, we ordered the crème brulee. They were mouth watering. We enjoyed our holiday meal!

Delicious, quality ingredients meal! Loved it!

Stopped here on our trip through Madison and it was one of the best meals we’ve had in a while. Food was really delicious, high quality ingredients, and reasonably priced for the meal. Pot roast served with sautéed spinach, mashed potatoes, asparagus and roasted carrots was delicious! Blue cheese dressing on the wedge salad was some of the best I’ve had. Battered cheese curds served with Sriracha / ranch ...OMG. Lastly the mousse desserts...we got salted caramel and cookies and cream were terrific. Server was attentive.

Not as good as expected

Service was excellent. Menu has a lot of options, mostly seafood. Food average and portions small for the price. Everything way too salty! Cocktail was good. Definitely not as good as I had hoped. My family liked her entre and appetizer a lot, which was seafood. My cheese curds were greasy and below average

Went for dinner last night and will never go back. When I am paying $44.00 for a steak I expect the cook on it to be correct. The server was great and took both over cooked steaks back, however the owner took it upon himself to bring mine back and tell me my cook on it was fine and he would not fix it... it was beyond rude. I will never return to his establishment if he thinks that is proper restaurant etiquette. Our server was great but I felt completely sorry for her. This man should definitely not own a restaurant or get a lesson on how to treat customers again.

Worst Meal I've Ever Had

This is the one of the worst restaurants I've ever dined at. We thought the place was closed when we arrived because it was so dark and the door so heavy. I wish it had been closed. The waitress recommended the herb roasted chicken claiming it would be tender, flavorful and delicious. It was overcooked, hard as a rock, lacked flavor and was the worst chicken I've ever had. The baby back ribs my sister and mom ordered tasted like some kind of beef stew - not real ribs.. My son hated the Margarita pizza. The meal was $130 and a complete waste. The service was also lacking. We had been driving for hours and we starving and I didn't know what would happen if I complained or sent the food back. This visit was so bad I didn't go to any other restaurants while in Madison because I was so disgusted. I'd rather have peanut butter and jelly than eat here again.

Not a good experience

Between, dinner, lunch, happy hour and both Easter and Mothers Day Brunch, we go to Bonfyre 30+ times per year. The past two times we have been there have me questioning if we would go back. Today, our drinks were really poorly made. The Thai Flat Bread, which we would normally die for, was a mix between the Bianchi and Thai. Thai Flat Bread with Mozzarella Cheese on the crust? After complaining about our drink and having it made poorly again, we just ate the Flat Bread, paid the bill and left. Not sure if or when we will go there again, but it will likely be quite awhile.

Excellent Poke Bowls! Sadly, this fine establishment has CLOSED TEMPORARILY. Bonfyre was the best restaurant for many miles on the South Side. I hope they’ll be able to reopen soon.

Service great food not so great

We were so excited to try Bonfyre . The waiter was wonderful no complaints on that. The food was only fair unfortunately. I chose the vegetable risotto with added chicken. My husband ordered the pan fried walleye. The after dinner drink - Grasshopper wasn’t a true grasshopper with no ice cream but crushed ice instead.

Great atmosphere and delicious food!

Bonfyre was a fantastic find! Our server was great and service was fast and efficient. First of all, the appetizers...wow! Best, I mean best, cheese curds around. And the avocado bruschetta was spectacular. Between the four of us, we ordered scallops, chicken, and steak. All were done to perfection and delicious. We will definitely visit again!

A great place in Madison for excellent food and wines

This restaurant was excellent - food, service and drinks were first class. I was here with a business group and among us we had steaks, bbq ribs and risotto - all were exceptional, as was the crème brûlée for desert. I’ll definitely be back

Top Rating for Private Event at Bonfyre American Grille

This review is specific to using Bonfyre American Grille to hold a dinner event for 45 people. The Event Coordinator, Bridget Harms is literally exceptional. Her service, professionalism, and always saying "Definitely we can do it", was the deciding factor among several other venues, some of which are as good and competitive in cost. Before the event, we found the place to be at and netter that our expectations. During the event, the three assigned servers, Hannah, Brian, and Adam. were stars in their tasks, and MORE. They replenished the appetizers continuously, prepared our cake meticulously, served the food so smoothly and graciously. At the end of the event, they made it so easy and supported our team in cleaning and removing the decorations we brought. Special thanks to the Chef too. All three meal options were very well presented, so tasty, and all plates were big portioned. Thanks to this team, Bridget, Hannah, Brian, and Adam, Bonfyre American Grille is my preferred and first choice for all my future events. R.S. and Family

Finally back to this lovely place!

My husband and I were so happy to be back at this restaurant. We found a delightful table outside which was very private and pleasing. We were here for lunch this time as last time we had breakfast.
