We had fun here. The staff was great, the dining areas were well lit from all the windows, and you could choose to sit outside. Usually I’m skeptical of huge menus but they our food was fantastic from my chicken and veggies to my wifes salmon and salad (her salmon was so big we shared it and I boxed up my chicken for leftovers) to my sons eggs benedict. All huge portions and delicious. We went twice during our weekend stay.

First visited Clark’s in 2003 when a family friend moved to the area and every time we return to NYC we eat there at least once for breakfast. Always great food and service and I always recommend to friends who are visiting the area. I went for the Big Breakfast with French Toast ( always do!) whilst wife went for Eggs Avocado this time. Fantastic food all round and washed down with the nicest coffee which never stops getting refilled. A must place to visit!

The most amazing little restaurant in Brooklyn. The food is all freshly prepared, large portions and delicious. I highly recommend the Apple Pie for dessert. I had been searching for a classic American Apple Pie whilst in New York and this one was the best I have ever had.
The staff are all really lovely, water given free and continuously topped up. They are happy to give advice on things to see and chat if you wish, but also leave you to eat your meal in peace too.
Whilst we were there we witnessed the most extraordinary kindness from the staff to a local who obviously comes to the restaurant a lot. He was quite elderly and on his own, but the staff looked after him and showed him such care. It was genuinely really touching to see.
I would go back to this restaurant every night if we had been staying nearby.

This WAS a go to spot for me. I usually do take out or delivery and eat in the comfort of my home. The exchanges between the staff and I up until this point were always pleasant. But Today my partner and I dined in for the first time for our anniversary. That was a mistake for sure because our server was rude and ignored us the whole time. From the get go he took almost 15 minutes to take our orders. He didn’t even have the decency to mention his name. His back was to us several times checking in on others around us being very personable and cherie . He was a shorter latin guy with glasses and a mustache. He shouldn’t be treating people like that. We would’ve gave him the benefit of the doubt if he were just like that with everyone but the tables adjacent to us got the exact opposite treatment and being that we’re POC and the others around were not definitely stood out. I don’t like making assumptions but the writing was on the wall at that point. My food was served first and my fries were room temperature. But 10 minutes later my partners food and fries came out with hers piping hot. It didn’t make any sense. Not once was he apologetic about anything. He ignored us the whole time but when it was time to pay that’s the only time he looked in our direction so he can get us out the door. The only person who was truly apologetic a bit was the person I paid on my way out. The other servers were playing games when we asked to speak to someone, they pointed in the direction of the bathroom, but when we eventually spoke to management we still left disappointed and dissatisfied. I’m a pretty easygoing person but that was by far my worst dining experience ever and I wouldn’t wish that treatment on anyone. It’s really a shame. ✌🏾

We put our name in and waited outside in a "line" that was completely chaotic. People were everywhere and no one was called so we went back inside to check and then were seated. How long would we have stood there otherwise? My daughter and I ordered a salad and a turkey club to share. I told the waiter I am allergic to shellfish and he said that there's no shellfish in a turkey club so I didn't have to worry. I asked him to let the kitchen know about the allergy and he just waved his hand at me, completely dismissive. The turkey club was awful. The turkey was very dry and the bacon wasn't cooked well. The waiter never returned to see if we needed anything or if our meal was okay so I got up myself and took condiments off the wait station. A very disappointing experience for a place so well reviewed. We won't be back and I don't recommend it.

Exploring the charming streets of Dumbo, after crossing the iconic Brooklyn Bridge, I discovered a pleasant gastronomic surprise: Clarks Diner.
This authentic American diner offers a diverse menu, full of irresistible options, such as pancakes, waffles, sandwiches and omelets.
We opted for the Big Breakfast, a generous combination of French toast, bacon, sausage and two eggs, and also the Florentine Wrap with eggs, feta cheese, spinach, tomato and mozzarella.
I would recommend Clarks Diner to anyone who wants to feel the true essence of an American diner, with good food and a relaxed atmosphere in the heart of Brooklyn.

This place came recommended as a favourite of a local friend. I do wish they served potato pancakes with apple sauce, however… but I had an excellent grilled cheese sandwich with gruyere cheese. I didn’t like their coffee, but I am fussy. My companion ordered a full breakfast with waffles, which he enjoyed.
Very attentive and friendly servers. They seemed to greet a lot of the customers as regulars.
I looked up the history and somewhere it was claimed that this diner is frequented by prosecutors from the nearby court!

Came across this place while I was searching for some breakfast n the area. Everything we had was very good and the staff were very helpful. It was a windy day otherwise we would sit outside and enjoy the sun also...
If you are in the area and hungry give it a try and you wont be dissapointed.

We ate here on our first night in Brooklyn. The food was very good. I ordered a Caesar salad with Chicken. Very generous portion of chicken. We were suffering slightly with jet lag so didn't want too much to eat. The staff were friendly enough but I felt as soon as soon as we had eaten We were presented with the bill.it wasn't as if it was packed and they needed the table.

Visited for breakfast after a walk across Brooklyn. We liked it so much we came back for lunch with friends. Why 5 stars?
- The food was of good quality and reasonably priced.
- The staff were very friendly and accommodating.
- they played nice classical music during breakfast and we managed to get an outside table when we came for lunch.

Love this place. Excellent breakfast. Hard working staff and 2nd and 3rd generation owners. Eggs, sausage, bacon, pancakes, potatoes are all perfectly done. My only complaint- it seems that “ the freshly squeezed OJ” is watered down. Please stop- charge my a little more for really straight OJ. Otherwise this is the great Brooklyn Heights breakfast place.

we love this restaurant, we visited in June 2022 and Jan 2023, multiple times, sad not to be coming back again this year... Fantastic service and really great food, we highly recommend this business. Go there!!

We arrived in Brooklyn as I got on the wrong subway train, but the upside is we found this fantastic restaurant. The whole experience was wonderful, the staff were attentive and friendly, the menu was impressive and the food was excellent. My son was bowled over by his fried chicken and waffles. Great value compared to similar establishments in Manhattan. Would thoroughly recommend a visit to any travellers coming to NYC.

A good choice for an excellent meal on your way to or from the nearby Brooklyn Heights Promenade. The navy bean soup, pastrami sandwich, and double chocolate cookie I had for lunch were all very good. Both indoor & outdoor seating is available. Located across the street from the Clack Street subway station.

Outstanding up-market diner in Brooklyn Heights. Sat outside on a pleasant Saturday morning and enjoyed a hearty brunch. The service was impeccable and the food just as good. Will definitely be re-visiting next time we're in the neighbourhood.
