Went to Bamonte after a Broadway show. Loved the inside decor in the bar area where we met the hostess to seat us. We did not have a reservation but at 5 pm on this Saturday they only had beautifully decorated outside seating. It was warm and comfortable even with the outside temperature in the low 40's. Our waiter, I think his name was Anthony, dressed in a tux was friendly, attentive and professional. We had Clams Casino, Fried Zucchini and Stuffed Mushrooms for outstanding starters. We all shared an Arugula salad that was wonderful. My entree was Veal Scallapini Marsala and it was mouth wateringly delicious. My son had Chicken Parm and was more than satisfied. My wife had large clams on Linguine and could not eat it all. Unfortunately, no room for dessert. Also had a bottle of wine, 2 Kettle One Martinis and a Coke all for less than $300.00 including tip. Loved the old phone booths in the bar area. Inside looked very nostalgic also. From other posts, there are more older things to see inside. Had no trouble parking in the area either. Very much recommend eating here

At BAMONTE everything is original and you can breathe the true Italian-American air starting from the lady who welcomes customers, to the furnishings and the typical menu. Pasta dishes, aubergine parmigiana and homemade desserts. Experience and tradition to spare... perhaps it is the only true Italian restaurant left in Brooklyn New York!!

The best Italian and Williamsburg Brooklyn experience one possibly can have! The rigattoni Ala vodka sauce, endive/ arugula salad and the fresh fish is a must along with a very impressive wine list. Service beyond compare and Nicole is always the most gracious hostess!

We were in Brooklyn to visit our daughter who attends SUNY Downstate. We love Italian, and so decided to go here. The feel is old school Italian. Don’t expect to get an American Italian experience, we ordered an Alfredo, and it came with butter and cheese- and no cream which originally was how an Alfredo was made. All our dishes were very good, Veal and Chicken Parmesan with side pasta (Alfredo). We ate outside in their covered porch- service was great- we’d go here again, but like to try other venues. If you want to experience ole’Italy this is the place!

This NY institution serves solid old-school "red sauce" Italian food. Stepping into this joint in the heart of Williamsburg is like stepping into a time machine and transporting back into a vintage Martin Scorsese film. It does not appear that the decor has been touched since the 50s or 60s (down to the vintage cigarette machine in the bar area). The food was good, but the service and atmosphere were reason enough to check this place out. We enjoyed the baked clams to start. Winning entrees were the pork chop parm and the homemade ravioli in red sauce (more like small pillows filled with delicious cheese). The tiramisu and chocolate mousse were the best thing we ate - real standouts. The service was first class all the way (friendly and professional). Our waiter, Silvio, regaled us with stories about his 40+ years of service at Bamonte's, while efficiently attending to our needs. It's not cheap, but you cannot buy this type of experience at many places anymore. Definitely worth the pilgrimige to this venerated Italian mecca.

We wanted to experience Italian food in New York so came here! Really classic restaurant. The food is good but the main reason we came was for the whole experience. Nice decor. Service was a bit slow. The food was delicious and they really pile the food on the plates! I would recommend this place.

I go to Bamonte's every time I'm in NY, because I feel at home together with my family in NY. Food always fresh and good, cooked with care and love. Staff very welcoming and helpful. I love their clams on half shell, the mussels, eggplants rollatino and the stuffed mushrooms, delicious!

We went with a big group who ordered a million appetizers, so we tried a lot. My 3 favorites were the eggplant rolatini, and both types of baked clams. The baked clams with prosciutto was insanely good. Also highly recommend the baked Branzino. Tiramisu was delicious as was the chocolate ice cream dessert. Service was excellent and the ambiance is great. Definitely a great local place. They also haven’t updated it so the decor is wonderful. Wonderful authentic Italian restaurant.

Bamonte's in Brooklyn New York is your traditional Italian restaurant. When you enter the restaurant brings you right back in time with the original decor and the great photos all around. The food is great as is the service.

Accidentally ended up in this place as in the area and looked for a restaurant. Remembered CNN reco on best italien ones in NYC and it didn’t disappoint! Classic old school all the way and still relaxed enough. You think the mobsters are dining next to you Highly recommended Will be back!

The restaurant appears to be casual and out of place on a residential street, but you enter to find an old-school dining room with tuxedoed staff. They have an extensive menu with a variety of specials, and seem very willing to take special orders. We stuck to the menu, mostly happy with the classic Italian entrees. The branzino was special, while most of the other entrees were good, but not as outstanding. This is a family-owned restaurant and the hostess is a sister. She was charming and made for a memorable experience. Friends strongly recommended a martini at the bar, and I wish we had the time - next time! We look forward to returning as it was a very fun night. It is a cash-only restaurant but they do have an ATM on sight. The dining room is a classic, perfect for a special date night or family dinner.

This has been restaurant for decades and still looks the same, including the black and pink bathroom. Typical menu, food decent for those who do not cook, I prefer my cooking to this place. Very dark too.
