We visited for a birthday trip this month and saw Aurora was recommended everywhere so was excited to try. The food did not disappoint on my part - the agnolotti was to die for I could eat it every single day. My mum had cacio e pepe which was so peppery it felt like it blew our heads off, so probably don't get that unless you like your pepper. Great selection of cocktails and wines. We sat outside in the covered courtyard and the ambience was stunning. My only criticism would be that the waiting staff seem to rush you a bit. Its nice to sit and enjoy a meal without feeling like its on a conveyor belt so they can get a new cover in the door. Oh and also - whatever they did with that chocolate cake is absolute magic, I've never eaten anything like it before. Super light and rich. Overall a great experience and would absolutely recommend!

Stopped at the recommendation of a family member and we were seated immediately with a reservation. Enjoyed the duck and the chicken piccata. Servings were American size (far too much for a dinner serving). Enjoyed the squash blossoms. Very friendly service.

We had dinner in the outside patio and the food and service were very good. We enjoyed the Branzino and pork chop as well as the grilled artichoke and little gem salad. The servers were very friendly and attentive. We ate the olive oil cake for dessert and it was very tasty. We would definitely go to this restaurant again.

Nice evening with a great food selection of Italian classic dishes. Wine is a bit overpriced but this is US and I compre it with the prices of the same wines in Italy (60% less at least). The place is also worth for the atmosphere that grants the possibility to speak gently and have a nice night out with friends. Service nice and quick. Approved

We tried to grab a sunny table for an afternoon cocktail but there was an hour + wait. It looked lovely so we made a reservation for early evening for a cocktail and a snack. The staff was friendly, and the food delicious. The octopus was perfect. The cocktails were creative, and they had a good wine list. We sat in their nice garden. Prices are a bit high, but we’d go back for a special dinner.

We’ve been going to Aurora for years and have never been disappointed. Today was no exception, lunch for a party of 8 in the restaurant’s delightful (covered) terrace. Everyone ordered something different and everyone was delighted. Good cocktails, great pasta dishes (this is a northern Italian restaurant after all, with roots in Piemonte). Friendly, unobtrusive service. Keep up the good work!

Sorry bout it, but I'm not on trend here. First impression, I was asked if my whole party was there, I had a reservation for 2. We were standing arm in arm at the check in as I said "we have a reservation at 8 for 2". If you bother to look up from the screen at your patrons and make eye contact, you'd have seen the silly pretentiousness of the question. The outdoor seating is lovely and they are adhering to guidelines, but you're only one sneeze away from Corona since the tables are close together. They are certainly depending on those little plastic barriers to keep things separate. Again, these are minimum standards, and yes I do have a degree in epidemiology, but this is all over NYC not just here.
I was looking forward to the food, but I was not amazed. The kale and Brussels sprout salad sounded delicious but lacked salt, acid and texture. The steak was woefully under seasoned and the prosciutto and burrata charcuterie plate was, well a meat and cheese plate, good but nothing special. The papardelle with crab was very good and the only thing I can really say I enjoyed. The Calabrian chili added a flavor and heat that was simultaneously subtle and pronounced.
The service was adequate, and our waitress checked on us and was accommodating, but isn't that a minimum standard? What was off putting was the frenetic pace of the host and other waitstaff. There seemed to be an urgency of purpose in a restaurant that was not full. This mad dash to greet, seat and eat without attention to the overall dining experience is part and parcel of today's paradigm. Let's make a lovely space, have fancifully described ingredients and dishes, call it something trendy and act like if Di Niro, DiCaprio and Denzel are waiting for the table I'm currently occupying. Yes, you're doing me a favor by letting me eat here. I will not burden you again.
I don't think 3 stars is a bad review, it's fair. This restaurant could be great with some refinements, however, based on the good reviews they're getting and how quickly the restaurant did fill up later on in the evening, I'll bet they won't change a thing. This review will be buried and considered an anomaly by all the regulars.

Absolutely delicious food and setting. The only thing holding back from 5th star is the rudeness of the host. Otherwise - perfection.

A special occasion and I was tempted to try something new: and it worked really well. A quiet calm neighbourhood restraunt - a number of friendly slightly elderly groups had chosen to dine out that evening creating a good natured comfortable vibe throughout, We chose a table indoors, our server was polite, caring, kind and efficient, the food was well cooked and presented, a thoroughly enjoyable evening.

We had 3 different types of pasta; all were excellent. After that things went downhill. It was a Sunday evening, we eat in the outside pavilion which was over crowded and noisy. The service was inept. My wife and I wanted to share a pasta as a first course. We had to ask repeatedly for an extra plate and pepper and never were we offered more parmigiana cheese. They also served my steak at the same time as the pasta. I sent it back to the kitchen. When I did eventually have the steak it was properly cooked medium rare as requested but was tough and unseasoned. It's an Italian restaurant; stick to the pasta; my mistake. We asked for more bread and they gave us dried overly reheated something.
It's a mystery to me why the restaurant is well rated. There are plenty of better Italian restaurants throughout NY. as
