About
Welcome to Juliana's, a New York-style pizzeria. Juliana's heralds the return of Patsy Grimaldi-not only to the NYC restaurant scene, but to the original location under the Brooklyn Bridge where he co-founded Grimaldi's Pizzeria with his late wife, Carol. Unbeknownst to many, Pat & Carol severed their affiliation with Grimaldi's in 1999 when they sold the business (along with the name). Even though they were no longer involved in the restaurant, they never lost their passion for serving truly great pizza. And so, with a desire to re-live a "dream come true", they have partnered with close friend and former guest to establish Juliana's, a neighborhood pizzeria, preparing and serving pies the way Patsy has for generations. Named in honor of Pat's mother, Maria 'Juliana' Lancieri, Juliana's occupies 19 Old Fulton Street, in the Fulton Ferry Historic District, in the building that was once home to Grimaldi's.

I’m definitely a fan of Italian food! Don’t be fooled by the huge line- it moves quickly. We waited around 30 mins outside- there is outdoor heaters and they bring round a small slice of pizza every so often. Once you’re inside, the pizza is in front of you within 10 mins- fresh and yum!

Juliana's is the best pizza I have ever had, the atmosphere of the restaurant was amazing and the staff service was incredible. We asked for drinks and they were on the table within 30 seconds even though the restaurant was still quite busy. Once I had had one slice I couldn't help but have more and ended up having 9 full slices of pizza. It also really adds to the atmosphere that Frank Sinatra was playing the whole time and made it an absolutely amazing experience overall.

I went to Juliana's on a whim after hearing how delicious it was from staff at One World Trace Center. It's a quick trip using the A line from Lower Manhattan. I heard it was common to experience a wait, with a line stretching down the block. The hosts do a great job of taking counts and getting you through as quickly as possible. As I was dining for one, I was able to skip the line and sat at the bar directly in front of where they prepare the pizza dough. I enjoyed a classic pepperoni pizza with a Stella Artois to drink - I loved that they provided the Stella in the chalice. The pizza was delivered to me rather quickly and you could tell the ingredients were top quality and fresh. The service was phenomenal from the moment I stepped in until the moment I left. Will definitely return on my next trip to New York.

We found the pizza underwhelming and over priced: $34.84 for a large pie with 2 toppings: 1/2 pepperoni & 1/2 mushroom. I ordered takeout over the phone and didn't look at the receipt so maybe there was a service charge or they added on a tip?? Julianas gets fantastic reviews so we were pretty excited to try their pizza. I live in a town where the pizza continually ranks among the nations best so we were really looking forward to trying another highly ranked place. IMO is was good but not at that price.

Usually there is a line for Juliana's, which has apparently been voted the best pizza in all America. It really was worth the trip! If you can make it for lunch mid week you can skip the queue like we did and get to experience the rustic simplicity that authentic Italian food always delivers. The restaurant is not all that big, but you don't feel cramped and they elevate the pizza on stands when they serve it to simplify sharing. The menu is fairly straightforward and it is easy to choose from no's 1 through 6 pizza (we enjoyed 1 and 4!) and there is an array of Brooklyn's finest drinks, ice cream and other goodies to tuck into if you are so inclined. You can also watch the pizza's being made and placed into the oven in the open plan kitchen by the pizza chefs.

The pizza was average at best and massively overpriced (nearly $40 just for a pepperoni pizza). The service was rushed and really poor - rude waiters. We only had larger notes to pay and were owed a significant amount of change... we had to ask for this back as they put it in the tip box without asking. Manager on shift was very unfriendly and lacked any interpersonal skills. A lot of tour guides are quick to recommend this place but we were severely underwhelmed.

Dear Megan, I'm terribly sorry you didn't enjoy your recent visit to Juliana's. It sounds completely different from anything our guests experience. I'm even wondering if you meant to review us as opposed to another pizzeria given the price of our pepperoni pizza is nowhere even close to $40 (a large pie with pepperoni is in the $20s) and we don't have a tip box.

Is ok! Two times visited and ordered to go pies during pandemic. Although it is located in a tourist section of the Brooklyn Bridge the pizza pies are reasonably priced But... the pizza slices are so so thin that they fall apart when picked up. The sauce is not as flavorful and tasty as their competitors. A good option if no lines, hungry and do not mind a thin fall apart pizza

I can't say anything about whether the delicious food is here or not. We were not lucky to try it. But run into rude hostess service - YES. That day, when we went to the pizzeria, the line was short. My son and I stayed in line, and my husband went to look for a parking lot. When our turn came up, we said that we needed a table for three. Hostess asked where the third person was. We replied that he was parking, but we can sit down and make an order, especially since the husband already called and He said that he had found a parking and was coming. So she didn't let us sit down, saying that until a third person came. Just a couple of minutes later my husband came, but she said that we should now wait, without explaining the reason. We thought that a table for three should be vacated and we would be seated at the table. But no. 2-3 groups of people who stood after us was seated (one group consisted of 3 people). I asked: Why are we still ignored? But she did not even bother to give an intelligible answer. Her behavior was disgusting! We turned and went to Grimaldi pizza. Thank God New York is full of wonderful places with great food and great service!

We arrived at Juliana’s with high expectations. Having crossed Brooklyn Bridge on foot, waded our way through all the tourists, we had worked up quite an appetite by the time we arrived which was around 3pm. There was a short queue in front of the restaurant, clients could be seen in the restaurant as well as outside consuming their pizzas. Whilst waiting, we could see clients leaving but nobody was being let in and having waited about half an hour at this point we were soon informed (by others waiting in the queue as opposed to the staff) that they were stoking the coals of the oven and that they’d open at 4pm to customers. It was a painful hour long wait, there was no sign on the door to advise of the temporary closure of the restaurant (unfortunately we didn’t have any internet access on our phones either to check the website) and we were ravenous by the time we could take our seats and order. The pizza was good, but not the best I’ve eaten and to be honest if we’d known that we’d have to wait over an hour to eat, we would have eaten else where.

There is normally a queue outside of this place and when you get in and have the pizza, you can see why. We came for lunch on a Sunday at opening time. We waited in a short queue before it opened. Once in the place was full and queues still outside within 15 minutes of it opening. We had a medium pepperoni pizza to share. The pizza was amazing. The dough was perfection, the cheese was the right amount of stringy and tasted fantastic. Even the pepperoni, which I had only because everyone else in my party wanted, was amazing. Tasted really sweet. No one else wanted a dessert but I was desperate to try their cannolis. I was able to get one to go which was packaged in a box and they went me away with a full set of recyclable cutlery and a napkin in a nice bag. When I got round to eating it it was superb. It looked like I would make a mess with it but it was well made enough that it just didn’t happen. All the staff were really helpful and lovely. They’re really efficient which I loved. I know some people may think it’s rude but remember, they have a lot of people waiting outside that want to be sat where you are. You really see that when you go out, all these people are looking at you like, ‘yes another table is free we can get in soon!’ Want to come for the best pizza in New York, definitely make Juliana’s the place to come.

I was expecting a lot more for what I got. Unfortunately my server didn’t know much about Italian food although this is an Italian restaurant. Menu was very limited and no changes can be made. My server didn’t even know what Caprese salad was 😳 and although is an easy salad to make and they had the ingredients available they wouldn’t do it. I traveled from Florida to NYC to ride the Brooklyn Bridge and eat at Juliana’s to find this dissatisfaction.

Overpriced for what it is, Not worth it. Service is slow. The crust was kind of hard like it had been sitting around for a long time before we got there. It's the kind of place where Bill De Blasio would use a fork, so not for anybody who actually wants to eat real pizza. Not Italian style, not authentic New York pizza. OK for tourists or if you're starving, and that's abou it.

We tried Juliana´s Pizza on New Year´s Eve and it was delicious. We had to wait about half an hour to be seated. But the wait was very entertaining with nice people and the waiters who kept coming out and joking. There was a relaxed atmosphere in the restaurant. The food came quickly and was hot.

My daughter and I were tipped off by a local New Yorker to visit this place during our recent trip to NYC. We made a whole day plan around Brooklyn that included dinner at Juliana's Pizza. It was a long wait in the line outside to get in. Inside the atmosphere was vibrant and the temperature much warmer than outside. It was crowded and there was lots of noise but we were able to design our own pizza and we loved it. The service was friendly and quick despite the crowds. We definitely would recommend this restaurant.
