Enjoyed dinner here with my husband and sister in law. We ordered the Neopolitan meatballs, fire roasted peppers with burrata, eggplant and zucchini pizza and the artichoke and pancetta pizza. All of the food was excellent and great service. Highly recommend.

Ordered take out pies and the pizza was amazing. The crust was delicious and they had a great non dairy option with the marinara pizza for our lactose intolerant friend. Even though we didn’t eat there it looked like a cool vibe.

Recommended by our host as the best pizza in Brooklyn and truly was. We all loved our pizzas which were fresh, tasty and great crispy well fired bases. Really good choice of beers too as well as wine and cocktails.

We impulsively decided to dine at Barboncino for dinner for the first time on a Saturday after cocktails at Altar (an excellent cocktail bar, BTW). We'd been to Chavela's and Cent'Anni up Franklin Avenue, both of which we like, for dinner recently, and a new place appealed. Barboncino looks good from the sidewalk and the dining room is appealing and pleasant. Our food was very good to excellent. We ate a sopprassata pizza (very good), and anitpasto salad (excellent), and a side of giariniera. We find the prices fair. Our service was excellent. We'll go back.
TIP walking distance to the Brooklyn Museum
SHOUT OUT to Erica P for fantastic hospitality
BONUS good value!
TIP walking distance to the Crown Inn, another good cocktail bar, with a pleasant back yard

Excellent pizza great service. I never would’ve thought of adding honey on pizza but it was incredible. The crust was chewy and perfect. Not New York style but more Italian style. Highly recommend.

Stopped in after the Dior exhibit at Brooklyn Museum. Staff was exceptionally welcoming and helpful. We sat at a table near the bar in back - fun and lively. Great cocktails. We got a couple of pizza and a large salad - everything was delicious. Definitely our go-to place after museum visits.

As a New York native who grew up in Crown Heights, franklin Avenue. I obviously had some reservations about this clearly gentrifying pizza joint where you will pay $25 dollars for a personal sized pie. But to my surprise I found the pizza to be delicious the summer I worked across the street and tried it for the first time. So much so I raved about this pizza to an out of town friend years later.
Today While stopping by today, I came and sat down for some pizza and the service was beyond subpar. The waitress seemed disinterested and barely made any effort to exert any quality service. We felt quite rushed and only ended up ordering one pie. In other countries tipping goes based on merit and service, I apply these values to the US because establishments should pay their staff more. In this case our service did not warrant tip. Our server was disinterested, and clearly unconcerned with our enjoyment of the food. As someone who has worked in service I do consider these things.
As we left the restaurant and spoke with a gentleman outside the establishment I was accosted, chased down and verbally lifted up by my shirt from our waitress. Loudly Demanding answers in regards to lack of tip with an attitude and chip on her shoulder. I quickly responded honestly based on her service I felt she didn’t deserve a tip and that it’s unfortunate that the experience wasn’t better. She scoffed and went inside.
I honestly must say that this 5’3 waitress with brown hair and black and white converse should consider employment better fitting to her skillset because she clearly lacks any knowledge of hospitality. I have never in my life experienced such horrible service and will be making a formal complaint upon my return.
I urge natives to steer clear of this establishment.

Best pizza I’ve had in a long time. Fantastic, amazing! Cannot rave enough about the Arugula and Hot fennel sausage pizza we had.

As good as any pizza we’ve had outside Italy, especially distinguished by the home-made mozzarella. Also an unusually eclectic (for NYC) range of decent, well-priced Italian wines, cozy atmosphere and friendly, efficient service.

A friend told us we had to give it a try during our visit and I’m so glad we did! It’s now one of my favorites!
First best pizza ever!!!! It’s a must! Sauce is slightly sweet and had just the right amount. Crust was perfect crispness.
I am in H.R. so I like to watch how teams work together. I noticed an unusual group working this evening. The restaurant was busy for a Thursday night but this team worked together to make everything run smoothly. They seemed to enjoy working together and had fun while getting the job done.
Neil behind the bar made a fantastic margarita (one of the best I’ve had) and espresso martini! He was friendly and attentive. We met a young man named Travis who we learned is from our home state. He gave us some ideas of places to visit during our stay. He even took time later in the evening to stop and ask how our dinner was.
There seemed to be a lot of regulars around the bar who interacted well with the staff. I got the feeling that Barboncino’s was the place to be in the area.
We are back in NYC next month and I will definitely make a point to go back again!

It was a little crowded and loud, but that is going to be a lot of places in NY. We just felt crammed with other people and had an obnoxiously loud couple next to us. The pizza is good, but not our favorite from the trip. We just wanted to eat and get out of there.

Looking for great speciality pizzas? This is the place. We had zucchini/eggplant pizza and a soppressata pizza. Very good! Thin crust, not chewy.

Barboncino can be crowded for brunch, but it's usually fairly reasonable in the evening and at night. Delicious pizza and salads. Good for couples or a family dinner.

Probably the most authentic Italian style pizza I've ever had, outside of Italy. The exterior is almost off putting and does a great job of hiding the gem inside. The interior is nothing fancy, actually decorated to look sort of old and well worn. The patio dining is great. The trellis supports an old vine that covers well and makes eating outside nice. The staff was friendly and we were seated promptly. Our waiter was either overwhelmed and struggling or genuinely an aloof jerk. He walked past us numerous times, never even acknowledging we existed. It was near 10 minutes before he conceded we were there and took our drink and food order. It wasn't long before our food was served, by a different person. Our waiter checked on us one time after the food was served. The food was great. Despite the service I'd definitely return.

My fiancee and I have been doing our own pizza-biking tour around Brooklyn. Barboncino is a gem of a spot; excellent pizza, friendly service, and right near Prospect Park and all the activities near by. We'll be going back soon!
