Food is made fresh and crisp. Ate here twice already. First time - al fresco. We had our dogs with us and And they didn’t make a fuss about it. The second time we ordered to go. Great food.

We popped in for lunch. Outdoor seating available. Fresh, light salads. Prices still low which is unusual in 2022. A few blocks over, Atlantic Ave, is where I’d try for lunch next.

Our family greatly enjoyed lunch at this laid back Thai restaurant during our vacation to NYC. My 4 year old son and husband were down at the piers at Brooklyn Bridge Park and walked over to the restaurant to meet me after running an errand (although, I took longer than expected). It was a quiet Thursday afternoon, and the staff was happy to sit my husband and son, bringing them drinks while they waited for me to get there. It was nice and dark, yet inviting and the staff was pleasant and very attentive. My husband had the pad thai, which was fantastic - it was the first time we'd seen the dish served wrapped within a scrambled egg. Our son had the pineapple fried rice with chicken, and although it was more food than he could handle, he gave it a hearty go! I had the Kee Mao (drunken noodle) and was worried it would be too spicy, but it was perfect, it had more things in it than I expected (like tomatoes) but they all blended together well and I ate it all! If we are ever back in the area, we will definitely consider this restaurant as a must stop!

My daughter and a few friends went here for her 17th birthday. The place is ok, and the food was good. What is 100 percent unexcusable is that they double dipped her for a tip. They were a party of 4 and Lantern found it necessary to add a 18% gratuity to the bill without letting them know. Once she got the bill, she then gave them an additional 20% tip not knowing 18% was added (the server did not say a word about the very generous tip). Looking at the receipt the next day we found out what they did called them and demanded the extra 20% back. They did refund the money they ripped my daughter off. For a neighborhood place this is disgusting to surcharge 18% for a party of 4 is unheard of, not to mention she left 20%. They should have said that a tip was already part of the bill. I will never step foot in Lantern again and will make it my business to share my daughters experience was everyone.

We came here to eat a good original Pad thai but impossible to call it Pad thai if you‘ ve been in Thailand: almost no peanuts, a red too sweet sauce (like the one used with chineeese spring roll), no hot peppers inside and the egg wasn’t fried together with noodles but noodles were wrapped in an omelette/crêpes (😱😱😱)!!!!
Furthermore, an awful service: only one took a rice and the waiter treated him with arrogance as my friend was stupid telling that we’ve never had ordered a rice.... unfortunately later he brought us the rice telling that he got confused (but he didn’t say sorry for the arrogant ways he used to us) 😓
Finally, while we were finishing our drinks (not the food, that was left in our plates), the staff start to clean and bring garbage outside the restaurant passing by our table!!!!
If you’re looking for a good original thai restaurant don’t come here (your stomach will thank u and will be greatful)!

I'd had a marvelous Thai meal here about 4 years ago so decided to go again, this time with my husband.
Same great atmosphere, very busy but quiet, marvelous menu.
We started with the Crispy Spring Rolls. Perfection, just like the first time.
I decided to get the pork chops, not exactly Thai but I was in the mood.
My husband ordered a Pad Thai with shrimp.
Well, to my great surprise the pork chops, although generous in size, with a good Thai marinade, were over-cooked. So over cooked they were burnt around the edges. I found them impossible to eat.
I enjoyed the plentiful Thai veggies and thought I'd just skip it and head home.
But when the waiter asked if everything was OK my husband said no. So I explained.
The waiter asked if I'd like to try it again and I said no.
He asked could he bring me anything else and I said yes. How about some shrimp?
If very short order he was out with a heaping platter of Thai veggies and plenty of gorgeous shrimp.
So once again I had a great meal at Lantern.
I'll be back for a 3rd time.

For my first time having Thai food I would say that it was good. My plate was cute but I didn't eat the rest, the chicken tasted a bit odd but I assumed it was because of the Thai sauce or spices. The Thai Tea was delicious, highly recommend. The decorations are also nice, during the summer they have an outside sitting area.

We visited this restaurant while visiting family in Brooklyn. The Pad Thai with shrimp was excellent! We also ordered the vegetable dumplings & coconut shrimp - both were great. Service was excellent too. House chardonnay was just so so. Would recommend and will visit again.

My daughter brought me there for the Pad Thai. Which was worth the every bite. I highly recommend both the chicken and the shrimp pad thai dishes. Each are full great tasting meals and will leave you wanting leftovers the next day...…. Or by the time you get home.

Good thai food for a city that, versus some other is not that rich in thai restaurant. The usual problem in north america with portion : too much food. But this is good and the staff is friendly. Well located as well, a short walk after diner and you can see Manhattan skyline.

We chose to eat here and then stroll down to the promenade. So glad we did the food was delicious and the service was excellent. We did not book and they were very busy but we were still able to get a table. We had curry puffs to start and they we’re really good, so was the yellow curry and the chicken cashew dish.

Came in here on a very cold day.
Loved the Jasmine hot tea.
The Red Curry with Tofu was nice and spicy.
The Spicy Basil Fried Rice with Tofu was the best fried rice I've had in a very long time.
Lunch was $10 per person. Tea was extra.
Friendly staff.

I stopped into lantern to Pass some time away. I was just in time to enjoy the lunch special that is $10.00, I ordered the Spring Rolls with plum sauce, my vegetable choice was Bok Choy in Coconut Curry with white rice. This was excellent, but the Spring rolls are average, below average even. The plum sauce does not live up to Thai plum sauce. I was told by the waiter, that I had three choices from the lunch menu. I ordered a dish that had eggplant in it. It did not come, I inquired but, it didn't seem like they knew what I was talking about so I just let it go. It was a great deal for ten dollars. I also had cup of Columbian Coffee. It was better than ok. Enjoy, then walk down Montague Street straight into a park like area where you can over look the water and see Manhattan, boats, helicopters and the statue of Liberty.

Went there last night.... actually I go whenever I get the chance to make the travel from Long Island. The food is always good and the drinks. My favorite is the turquoise breeze. Nice place for friends hangout and couples; whether your indoors or outside. Good job lantern staff
