Zafar looks very good. As to the food… it’s not on par to the looks. First of, I ordered a chicken shawarma sandwich and they gave me kebab wrapped in pita. The salad was not fresh. This place needs a strong leadership and they need to step up to the plate. Not coming back. Sorry.

Visited NYC and we stayed in Brooklyn. We were looking for a hearty brunch place before going to the airport and found this gem. The servers are friendly. The place is huge - they have indoor seating and several "private-dining" room sort of perfect for a large group. I love Middle Eastern food and was so excited for this. I ordered the Yemeni kabob and my husband got chicken shawarma. They were all served with basmati rice and a little salad with this tangy dressing. We also got coffees. Everything were good and very filling. Did not have space for dessert but walked away very satisfied. High recommend trying this place out if you're in the area!

Thank you so much for your wonderful review! We're thrilled to hear that you and your husband enjoyed your meal at Zatar Café & Bistro before heading to the airport. It's great to know that the Yemeni kabob and chicken shawarma hit the spot and that you found everything filling and satisfying. We appreciate your kind words about our friendly service and spacious setup for larger groups. Next time you're in Brooklyn, we'd love to welcome you back, and hopefully, you'll have room to try our desserts too! Safe travels, and thank you for recommending us!

In the neighborhood for an art opening, my wife and I tried this place -- which is actually at 201 Central Ave., not at TripAdvisor's address of 1294 Myrtle Ave. It's actually the same place. We had the "Variety Dip" appetizer, with three mouthwatering dips and fat pitas for $9.95. Then I had the Falafel Meal ($10) with the best falafel balls I've ever had -- soft in the middle, crusty on the outside. My wife had the Salmon Kabob Meal ($16) which was very tasty. I had Yemeni Tea ($3.50), which tasted of cardamom. We don't get around here often, but when we're around again, we'll definitely come back.

We discovered this place walking down after a morning show nearby and decided to eat here . A very pleasant surprise of great food which was fresh , delicious, wholesome and did not cost much . It is a no frill place which has roomy seating with self service but with steaming hot falafel , French fries , rice , pitta with cauliflower with harissa and hummus plus ginger cola to swash it down . We ordered a Falafel with rice , pitta warp and cauliflower pitta . Menu has vast options of non veg shawarma / kababs and sandwiches etc . There is self service and ample seating . Good for families with kids . Kitchen is visible with lots of activity you can monitor . The prices are realistic with no fill s - payment is made before you pick your meal arrangement .. A great meal which was delicious . Highly recommended .
