We put our name down for a table and it was a 50+ min wait, the host asked for our phone number but as we had international numbers just told us to come back at a set time. Other restaurants had suggested they send us a wattsapp which worked well - perhaps something miss Shirley’s could also do for non US telephone number visitors. The menu doesn’t have too many options for pescatarians but our server was helpful in helping me chose an appropriate dish. The food was delicious and very “southern” style. The drinks menu is very small and they don’t serve alcohol. There are only two toilets on the ground floor and there was always a que, I would suggest you take the elevator to the toilets on the higher office building floor.

We came to Miss Shirley’s for brunch on a Monday morning and we were not disappointed. They stayed us off by giving the kids their own full size Etch-a-sketch and kid’s menu with crayons. It kept the kids busy the entire visit. The coffee was tasty and they tended to our table quickly. I ordered the Southern Slammer sandwich which was filling and so delicious! It came with a side and I selected fruit which was fresh. Hubby ordered Amy’s Bayou Omelet and it looked delicious. He said it was so good and filled him up. It came with a biscuit that was freshly baked and had cream cheese bits, cheese, green onions and was sooo good. The kid’s plates were great because they came with separate compartments for all their items. Each plate had fruit and scrambled eggs. They selected pancakes or waffles and apple sauce or yogurt. There was even a compartment for syrup! Perfect for the kids who don’t like their food touching. My mom ordered the Fresh Garden Omelet and she said it was excellent. Prices were reasonable and we would definitely visit this place again!

Miss Shirley’s is a fantastic spot for lunch or brunch. It's an iconic place that's always bustling. Despite being very busy, the service was friendly and quick, and they are great with drink refills.
I tried the cinnamon Danish pancakes, which were delicious, though I felt they could have used a bit more frosting to really emphasise the flavour. My partner had the fried chicken, onion and cheddar waffles with jalapeño butter and honey mustard sauce which were a highlight. The sauces were delicious, but the chicken was a little dry and overcooked, and we had to ask for more sauce as the overall dish was a bit too dry.
Portion sizes are generous, making it a great value for the price. Overall, Miss Shirley’s offers a really nice dining experience with areas for improvement. We would definitely recommend.

I have been wanting to eat here at Miss Shirley's since I saw featured on Triple D. This trip my Honey and I made a point to stop here. They are open 8-3 pm and serve brunch all day. It's a short walk from the National Aquarium. We arrived around 2 pm on a Wednesday and the place was not too busy. We were seated at a table immediately. So many interesting items on the menu but we decided on Grandpa's Ham and Cheese Croissant and a Cuban Huevos Sandwich. They both came with Shredded potatoes & onion Hash browns (the other choice of side was grits). The Grandpa's Ham & Cheese consisted of Applewood-smoked Ham, melted Swiss cheese, sliced tomato, bibb lettuce & honey Mustard Alioli on a toasted Croissant. My Honey loved that sandwich so much she finished it, though it was a sloppy go at it. My Cuban Huevos was sooooooo good! My sandwich consisted of Applewood-smoked Ham, house-made BBQ Pulled Pork, Swiss, fried egg, pickles & Creole mustard on ciabatta. That was probably the Best sandwich I have ever enjoyed. So delicious. The Shredded potato & onion hash was cooked and seasoned perfectly. I also had the opportunity to enjoy a Bloody Mary with a Miss Shirley's twist which was also very good. Now that we know where Miss Shirley's Cafe is located, we will be back every chance we get when we visit Baltimore. There are so many interesting items on the menu that we are eagerly looking forward to trying. We Highly recommend Miss Shirley's Cafe. Reward yourself and stop by and see for yourself.

Everything was absolutely incredible! I came with friends while visiting from out of town and the staff were friendly and helpful, my gluten allergy was easily accommodated, and the food was full of flavor and delicious! Highly recommend stopping by if you have the time.

We first saw Miss Shirley’s at night from the far side of the street, and did not think much of it. The patio was dark (they only serve Breakfast and Brunch) and pasted it off as a small cafe, cute but unremarkable.
The next morning we were looking for a place to eat and walked by Shirley’s cafe and realized that you should not judge a cafe by its patio.
Inside there is a large lobby and two (2) big other seating area beside the patio we saw.
After a short wait, we were seated at a small table for two (2) closely seated between two (2) other couples. The space was sufficient but difficult to avoid listening to their conversations A little uncomfortable.
The service was quick and friendly, but even the waitress has trouble delivering our hot tea since the tables were so tight.
We ordered the Chicken Pot Pie Soup. The portions were amply, and the food was very flavorful and hot.
Looking at our neighbors’ food the portions for all the dishes are large and neither neighbor had anything bad to say about their choices.
I would recommend Miss Shirley’s, but come with a big appetite and reservations are recommended during busy times or if you have a large party.

The kids and I did a quick stop in Baltimore for our spring break road trip. We read about Miss Shirley’s and decided to stop in. They don’t have a parking lot so parking is across the street and not cheap - and that is the last negative thing I have to say about our experience. There was a line and a wait to be seated but honestly that’s not a surprise or problem if the restaurant is good. The hosts were friendly, our waiter, Gerald was pleasant and knowledgeable. My daughter was indecisive but he patiently helped her choose something to eat. The food arrived hot and fresh after a reasonable waiting period and was simply delicious! The deviled eggs were fantastic, the French toast was massive and the grits were spot on. My family enjoyed and we plan to return.

We arrived without reservations on a Sunday around 11:30 and was told it would be 30-45 minute wait. It turned out to be less. I had been to the other location, but having a friend visiting from out of town, this was the perfect location. The menu was full of options and all 4 of us really enjoyed our meals. The biscuits for the appetizer were worth the calories. Our waiter was very polite and on top of everything. We had a lovely experience. Highly recommend.

A very memorable family brunch. So many interesting menu options made it hard to choose. Everyone was very happy with their picks. My favorite was the shrimp with grits on fried green tomatoes.
We were given a free appetizer due to a very slight delay in seating our party. It was totally unexpected but greatly appreciated. Thank you. Wonderful customer service!

This is a great spot for breakfast or brunch. When in on a Tuesday morning, there was no wait, I can imagine there is a wait on the weekends. But the food will make it well worth it. I had the Chicken and Cheddar Green onion waffles... they were awesome! One of my friends had the Gravy Train Southern Skillet and he loved it, another friends had the French Toast, if you are not hungry do not order this it is huge! Easily can be shared by 2 or 3 people! The boast that they have the best gridle/pancakes in the US, and they are not far off they have a great flavor and texture not too dense not too fluffy they are perfect and have a hint of nutmeg. The staff is very friendly and the place is clean and inviting.

I am reviewing this at the Inner Harbor location because I don't see the BWI location where we ate as an option. First off, we've been to Baltimore no less than 50 times, mostly to see Orioles games, and we always stay downtown. We have never stopped in the location at Inner Harbor because there is a perpetual line to get in. When we had a layover at BWI a few days ago, I jumpted at the chance to eat at the location there. Being a crab cake snob (I have always used Phillips' recipe to make mine at home), I had to try the crab cake sandwich ($36). Hubby and I split it and boy was it FANTASTIC! The best "crabby paddy" in the universe! We both just couldn't stop talking about how yummy it was. The chunks of crab meat were huge. Also, our server, Joshua, was excellent. Can't wait for my next layover at BWI!

Wow. Wow. Wow. Great service, delicious food. I had the challah French toast and a side of crispy bacon. The bread was gigantic and I could have gotten a half order and been stuffed. My friend got the pulled pork grilled cheese and it was delicious too!
Make this a stop for fantastic food!

A great selection of old favorites, many with a twist. And, some really interesting unusual ones, like grapefruit Brulé that needs to be experienced. My sever, Susan, was fantastic with perfect timing, and just enough help at the right times.
One specific point, though, if you go during Jan '23: the monthly french toast special has what I read as a vanilla yogurt sauce, but the menu correctly actually said it is literally vanilla yogurt. The problem is that it's hard enough to serve French toast when it's hot, and putting (cold) yogurt on top kills any hope of doing so. The chef should consider making a hot vanilla yogurt sauce, instead.

This restaurant had so many options, but I wanted something seafood based. For my drink I ordered the Shirley Temple which was very flavorful and the soda was crisp! I went with the Maryland Omelette. It comes with a biscuit and a side and I chose grits. The omelette was amazing; it had huge lumps of crab . The sprinkle of Old Bay just took it to another level! The biscuit was soft and flaky. The grits were different but not bad. I will definitely return to Miss Shirley's to try more of their menu. Staff was amazing and attentive!

I knew we might have to wait, but I did not expect to wait an hour on food once we sat down. We waited 15-20 minutes to be sat around noon on a Thursday. No big deal. After a little wait they took our drink order which took longer than expected. We ordered as soon as they brought the drinks and 45 minutes later we still just had drinks. The waitress assured us that the food was coming soon and that the larger party near us was just before us so that takes some time and that gluten free items take some time. After almost an hour we told her that we needed to go if our food wasn’t coming because we had aquarium tickets. It finally came out after an hour and 10 minutes. This may not have been a big deal if my baby wasn’t starving.
Someone I assumed was the manger came out and checked on every table EXCEPT ours & the waitress was at the large party’s table 10 times more than ours, which led to drinks arriving way later than expected.
It was good food once it arrived, but my husband said that it certainly wasn’t the bed sandwich in the country (or whatever the claim on the menu was.) My gluten free Cubano Huevos sandwich was delicious, but the bread was very hard. The pancakes were very tasty!
My kid was so irritated after the wit he Barry even ate and proceeded to throw food, which staff was very kind about. The kid’s box was huge and had a lot of variety which is nice for a kid that can’t decide, but does not include a drink.
Overall, the gluten free choices and the waitresses acknowledgement and awareness of them were above average.
The regular food and they wait time was not.
I debated between 3 & 4 stars & went with 4 because gluten free items are hard to find!
