JC Fish Camp Made Me a Fish Fan!
We visited once in June, then found ourselves going back over and over because of the delicious food, excellent service and the amazing scenery from the back open air deck.
Our table ordered Fried Green Tomatoes, Fried Mahi Chunks, Grilled Salmon, Shrimp and Grits, Spicy Seafood Linguini, Blackened Mahi and a fried fish platter (fish and chips). We also ordered a couple of Butter Beers (similar to what is served at Universal Studios). EVERYTHING we ordered was delicious! The grits that are served with several of the dishes dishes are there best I’ve ever had, and that was the consensus around the table!
The service was great and the environment was cozy. We sat outside on a beautiful night and enjoyed the view of the water while we ate. I believe it did start to rain, but since the deck is covered, it was a non-issue. They also have A/C units blowing cool air on hot days and heaters for the few cold ones we have here in Florida.
The restaurant has two floors, but we always prefer to sit upstairs because of the view, but they have a welcoming bar downstairs (in addition to regular meal area seating) that I want to try one of these days.
The prices are higher, but appropriate for the quality of food and level of service you receive. All of the employees are very professional and pleasant. We have been back many times since my first time in June of 2019.
I definitely recommend Julington Creek Fish Camp! However, this restaurant is ALWAYS busy and reservations are recommended! Parking is hard to come by, but they do provide valet service.

We are never let down when we finish a meal at JC fish Camp! We get great food and great service every time!
Currently they are open for 50% capacity and only taking reservations I believe, but the plan ahead decision is well worth it! Masks are required while walking in/out of the restaurant - but not while sitting at your table.
We took family there on a Thursday night and had the most spectacular server, Dan, who we will now ask for every time we return. We try to get to the restaurant once a month because I end up craving the one and only meal I devour each time.
Let me say this, I do not eat seafood and do not like seafood, except for the blackened Mahi (Blackened Mahi with Tasso Ham Gravy, Collards, Creamy Grits) that Julington Creek Fish Camp serves. It is so delicious that I begin to crave it when it’s been too long and it’s the only thing I order - because like I said, I do not like seafood.
My boyfriend enjoys most fish, but doesn’t do the clams/oyster/crab/lobster gig so my review will only speak about his fish experience. A few weeks ago he tried a pan fried WHOLE Red Snapper that was cooked expertly and melted in his mouth. This time he had the special that consisted of blackened flounder on top of a corn crema with avocado pico de gallo, all of which he demolished!
We always receive expertly cooked fish that is perfectly seasoned. The creamy grits are delicious and always get added to his entree if it doesn’t already come with it (i.e. the grouper the other night).
Dan, our server, was AMAZING!!! He was quick, efficient and had the best table-side disposition. All of our servers have been great, but Dan was memorable. From now on we will be requesting his section whenever he’s working!
We love our JC Fish Camp and look forward to our dinners there. The restaurant is cozy, clean and has a great feel. The outside seating comes with a great view of the water, but the terrible humidity of Florida.
We recommend JCFC to everyone we know and love to take friends and family there whenever we can.

This restaurant was recommended by a local, who also advised getting a reservation. Boy was he right! Good food, went there twice during our week long vacation, and the place was always packed. Got the fried dinner, delicious. Highly recommended

The view is fantastic. The staff is friendly. The true stars are the fresh and delicious seafood delivered quickly to the table. I cannot recommend this restaurant enough. They even thought to ask if we wanted the kids meals brought out immediately in order to avoid late dinner meltdowns. We will return again.

Stopped in for lunch today just after 1:00. They were just finishing up the lunch crowd.
We were promptly seated.
The hostess was polite and the table was clean.
We met our waitress (Nicole), who was well versed on today’s specials.
My Mother-in-law opted for an adult beverage from the well stocked full bar.
My wife and I selected a white wine from a nice selection of wines.
This was my second time here for lunch. The last time we were here, we had the smoked fish appetizer (very flavorful). This time we ordered the calamari.
The calamari was smaller than I had expected, but it was cooked well and still hot when it arrived at the table.
I ordered the pan fried Cod with vegetables. This reminded me of something that I would have had in Charleston. Delicious!!
My wife ordered the Shrimp & Grits.. She was not disappointed.
Creamy, garlicky goodness.
Last was the Tuna Salad. The side sauce was fantastic.
That could be the Chef’s secret recipe..
We finished up with a hot bread pudding with ice cream and chocolate sauce. Not overly sweet, just right.
All in all, this was a wonderful Lunch.
Great service, food and views.

I went here for the first time when some coworkers took me for my birthday. I had a fish dish that was phenomenal! At the end of the meal I was happy to note it was the best meal I’ve eaten in the Jacksonville-area. My only regret was that I was in Jacksonville for three years before I tried the restaurant. I subsequently returned and tried the chef’s special steak, which was an exceptional ribeye. I liked the vegetables that had been served with the fish dish (on my first visit) so well that I asked to substitute them for the sides that were supposed to accompany my steak. The chef gladly accommodated my request. I had the key lime pie for dessert, and it was excellent, as well. One thing to note: they have complimentary valet parking, but there is a high likelihood of having to use it, due to the self-parking lot being so small - so, be prepared for that situation. They do take reservations, which also made the experience a little more pleasant. I am happy to say that I will gladly return here many times, in the future!!!

While visiting friends in the area, they took us to the Julington Creek Fish Camp. We had reservations and were seated immediately. Two of our group were vegetarian and they had a Greek Salad and a roasted beet salad, along with fried artichoke hearts and a bowel of edamame beans. Everything was very good. On of us ordered the crab cakes and they too were very good. My wife had the fried shrimp and she enjoyed them very much. The hush puppies were just okay. I ordered the fried oysters and they had too much batter and were over cooked. Both the shrimp and oysters came with French fries which were very over cooked and dry. My wife and I were visiting from out of town and we appreciated our server not rushing us as we wanted time to catch up with our friends.

We had an amazing dinner tonight! I have a gluten allergy and had no idea they can make the fried fish bites(and shrimp or any other fried item) gluten free!! It was delicious! I also had the watermelon salad and it was fantastic! My husband got the shrimp and grits and loved it. Our server was Quinn. She did a great job of explaining all the specials, giving recommendations, and checking in just the right amount of times. We will definitely be back!

Family who live in St. Johns love this place and the food certainly lived up to their high praise: the scallop ceviche, ruby red shrimp cocktail, crabcakes and blackened mahi sandwich were all delicious. The drink of the day, a watermelon collins was okay but the old fashioned was very good. We sat outside and the weather was perfect. While waiting for our table the bartendar did not make eye contact or even say hello with only one couple at the bar. Maybe he was having an off day or psychologically getting ready for the rush, who knows, but a waitperson waiting for her drinks to come up took our drink order at the bar. When seated, our waiter was also friendly and knowledgeable so overall it was a good experience and we will happily go back.

One word for this experience - flawless. We needed an outside patio to safely host a small casual gathering after my mother’s funeral. The staff were responsive and helpful in the planning process and the entire thing went off without a hitch. The service was superb and the food super-tasty. Had the shrimp and grits (awesome) and some had the cod (also fabulous) and the crab cakes (yummy). Appetizers were hummus and conch fritters, and both were tasty. Highly recommend this place!! Thank you Julington Creek Fish Camp!

Stopped for lunch at Julington's on our way to friends' houses in Georgia. Had looked for a place around Jacksonville for lunch and not far from the highways we take. We are happy we did; we actually made reservations as it is very popular for lunch, half business people, half regulars, and then a couple of stragglers.
Had an oyster appetizer similar to Rockefeller but just slightly different and quite good. Should have ordered the full dozen.
I had trigger fish which is one ugly looking fish. But very tasty. The wife had a blackened shrimp basket which she couldn't finish (thankfully). We both had hush puppies as a side as well as grits for me and cole slaw for her.
A very creative special drinks menu and a decent wine list for such an unassuming place.
The very good White Chocolate Cranberry Bread Pudding finished the meal. Overall it is worth a detour.
Don't forget to make reservations.

This is a restaurant with a great view and good food. Service can be a little slow and not always attentive but the food and view are worth the wait. I always get the shrimp and grits but I have them made to what they refer to as valley style, with tasso gravy and the shrimp blackened rather than the description on the menu. They do a great pimento cheese and also I love their collard greens. We always get there for an early lunch so we can sit outside because inside can get a little crowded and loud.

Have been here a number of times, the food preparation is very good, fried food is done exactly right, fish is moist with a lite batter. The collared greens are very good as are the hush puppies.
Server was very attentive, manager came to our table, asked if the service and food was good.
Prices are very reasonable.

I ordered broiled seafood platter. The seafood portions of the dish were small relative to the price. One 5”x5” piece of fish. Three 25 cent size of scallop and five shrimp. There were bigger vegetables sides than the main dish. My order was $20. This was my first time here and my last. Been to other seafood restaurants in the city. So far this is my worst.

I was visiting my daughter, and she chose this restaurant for our dinner. It was a Monday evening so she didn't think it would be overly busy. Wrong! We had a small wait, maybe 15 minutes. Once we were seated our server got our drink orders. The menu items looked so yummy it was hard to choose. We split a wedge salad and they graciously cut and placed it on two plates. My daughter had the fried shrimp basket, Cole slaw, and fries. I had the Red Snapper special which came on a bed of mashed potatoes and green beans. My daughter's favorites were the fries and shrimp. She didn't care for the Cole slaw because it was room temperature. My dish was delicious as well. I was truly surprised by how packed the restaurant was on a Monday which leads me to my only negative comment. This would not be the place if you are looking for a quiet, romantic dinner. Fortunately that was not the case for us, so all the talking didn't bother us. I highly recommend this restaurant when you're in Jacksonville.
