There are not very many restaurants surrounding this one and when I walked in, I was skeptical. It almost looks a little like a cafeteria and the menu does look like anything special. I ordered the chicken salad that was supposed to come with deep fried chicken strips, but I requested they grill it. Then I walked to the back and got an Aperol Spritz - hardly cafeteria cuisine! When my wedge chicken salad arrived I was pleasantly surprised - and when I tasted it, I was amazed. That may have been the best salad dressing I've ever tasted, the lettuce was fresh and the chicken tasty. A healthy meal! And the spritz was wonderful. I sat at a table on the sidewalk outside. The inside tables are spread around full length windows on this corner location. I will return when I'm in the area to this place. It was great.

I was in the mood for something different today so I decided to check out the newest location of Bread & Board. I’ve been to both locations now and still have not been disappointed.
Today I tried the house meats board and was disappointed.
* Awesome amount of food
* Ham tastes like the holidays
* Bread is always warm and fresh
* Turkey seasoned perfectly inside and outside
* Arugula salad not bitter and nice lite dressing
The seating is spaces out. So if you are looking for a place to go but a little COVID scared you will be fine here. The only thing a little weird was the stool seating. I’m an average size person but felt like I was sliding of the small stools. I changed to a lower table before my food arrived.
I’ll be back to try more dishes.

This place is great and open on the weekends. The past few years it has been very difficult to eat in the downtown when we go to the scholastic awards at the Florida theatre and then to the art exhibitions at the Jacksonville library art gallery and the jacksonville university art show in the Sun Tower. I went her with few families this time and I will be recommending it everyone next year to come together. I want meet people here for Art Walk. Our food was great! I was very impressed with the boards and the wings we ordered. The portions were generous and the food was super tasty and fresh.

We got there before other people arrived and before it really got busy. However we were served a 1 dish board after others that got there later. Also they don’t have a good protocol to clean up tables. Using a almost dry rag without a disinfectant bottle is not ok. Also rude employees who choose not to give the courtesy of a disabled customer to walk and instead cross over in front of them without out disregard to the customer well-being.

Not the first visit to Bread and Board but the first visit to their new Location in Downtown Jacksonville . Food as always was excellent and the new location is 3 times the size of their previous restaurant in Five Points. They have a concept of multiple businesses at this location which is some thing new. A flower shop and a coffee shop which definitely adds to the business. Definitely worth the visit and is open Saturday and Sunday which for the downtown area is extremely handy.

Took wife and son in law while he was training in Jacksonville. We had Italian board, turkey classic and smoked pork and collards bowl. Portions were exceptional and food quality excellent! Sat outside on a beautiful Saturday afternoon. Highly recommend.

OMG! So delicious! Loved the chicken shawarma sandwich and fried okra and the ham and brie sandwich. The accompanying salad and dressing is fabulous. Everything was fresh. Loved that all containers were environmentally sensitive with paper to-go boxes and cups. A bit pricey, but worth it.

Stopped here before a visit to the light show at the zoo. Super helpful staff. Great menu. Everyone loved their meal choices. Sweet potato fries were a big hit, Olives and toasted bread not so much. Took a nice walk along the River Walk before we ate. Will go back for sure next time!

The AM personnel need to be fired!! The lady at the register was rude and awful. With that said, the food was very good. I am trying to find time to go back for brunch.

When I was visiting my brother in Jacksonville, Fl recently, I took him and my niece to The Bread and Board for dinner and was not disappointed. The food and service were wonderful.
The concept was very unique. You could either get the sandwich with all the ingredients or it would come on a paddle board with three freshly baked rolls and you could put the sandwich together yourself if you wanted. This way you could eat it as an entree or as a sandwich.
I had a fried shrimp poboy board that I put together as a series of small sandwiches. The rolls had a rosemary flavor to them and were so fresh. It was fun to just tear them apart and add the ingredients. The shrimp was sweet and freshly fried in a light batter with a sweet chili sauce with fresh pickles and slaw to accompany it.
The portion size was so big that I could not finish it and ate it the next day and it still tasted so good. The flavors became even more complex the next day when I ate it.
The service was really nice and very welcoming. I highly recommend dining here.

We visited this establishment last July, and the only major issue then was that the air conditioning was inoperative, it it was hot.
Our revisit [Nov. 9th, Saturday] was worth the effort. While I am still no fan of the large number of group tables, the food is simply great! Great selection of menu items.
It was Saturday, about 1 PM, and there were quite a few people, in line to order and at the tables.
Be prepared to stand in line. But, then there's plenty of time to view the menu [over the register], which is not printed. Perhaps it might be better to view their menu online, prior to your visit.
Service was a little slow. But, to be fair, the servers were very busy on this day. One minor service issue: one of our party [of four] did not get meal served with the rest of the group. It was provided much later. The server apologized, and provided a free dessert.

Hands down a great hidden gem in the middle of Jacksonville. Is priced you can't skip. Food is amazing and staff is wonderful. Have a good selection of beer and wine. The most amazing, creative, comfort sandwich shop ever.

There are two Sunday brunch menus which include a variety of food with meat and also vegan. You pay and order at a counter and then they bring it to you when the food is ready. You get your drinks from a beverage bar and they serve alcohol including some local brewery beers. The brunch menu also includes mimosas. I tried the vegan breakfast which was good and came w a small salad.Brunch runs into the early afternoon but they ran out of some items. You may have to park a block or two away since the restaurant is in Riverside- Five Points where parking can be difficult.
