Ate in the middle of the afternoon and were concerned it real cook was on. Didn't need to worry, the food was nicely prepared with good meat and good tasting and adequate sauces. I think the Pad Thai that I make is one of the...best but this one came close.More
My husband and I split the salmon spring rolls as an appetizer. The roll had a bit of salmon with a delicious crunchy exterior and a side of cilantro dipping sauce. As an entree we had the Pad Kee Mao with the wide rice noodles...and fresh vegetables, the kick of the noodle dish complimented the sweeter and more gentle flavors of the chicken with red curry which also came with a lot of varied vegetables. The servers were respectful and helpful and the atmoshpere was relaxing.More
Great Asian FUSION spot.
Thank you Kena for your warm service and suggestions.
I did not know what to order so left it to server’s choice.
Kena asked a couple of questions and off she went.
Started with a salad and it was really good,...great flavors.
Ended up with beef with flat noodles, almost like a Hong Kong drunken noodles.
Great choice Kena.
Spicy but needed some more spice so she came back with add-ons.
The service was great and food was fast.
While visiting Philadelphia on Saturday, we stopped for dinner at Xiandu, a Thai fusion restaurant. We did not have reservations, but they managed to accommodate our party of four. The dining room was simply decorated and comfortable. We started our meal with appetizers of spring...rolls, dim sum and Thai dumplings. My grandson and I then each had a bowl of Tom Yum soup. Each bowl had three big shrimp and loads of veggies. Tom Yum is one of my favorite soups and their version is one of the best. For entrees, my wife and daughter had Pad Thai, my grandson had the Thai Chili Mango with chicken and he loved it. I had the Penang curry with shrimp. It was absolutely delicious. Service was fast and efficient. We would certainly return.More
We recently had a great pre-theater [Hamilton @ Forrest Theater right across the street] at Xiandu. Their location is convenient to both the Forrest and Walnut theaters. I had read several favorable reviews and we were not disappointed. The street entrance may be unassuming, but...after entering you see a modern restaurant with ample seating. Reservations recommended, although we had no trouble getting a 5:30 reservation a few days prior to our visit.
Xiandu offers several choices of imported Thai beers, local brews, as well as a full bar. Our Tiger beers came with iced glasses. We enjoyed all of the food we ordered. For an appetizer my wife and I shared a dish of shumai - steamed oriental shrimp & crab dumplings with a yellow curry dipping sauce. In terms of entrees we thoroughly enjoyed the green curry with chicken and the panang curry with shrimp. For many of the entrees, you pick the sauce and then the type of protein to be added — generally chicken, beef, shrimp, or vegetable & tofu. Another in our group had high praise for the seasoning on grilled salmon.
One last suggestion if you are heading on to the Forrest for a show. Use the bathroom in Xiandu before you leave.
We highly recommend Xiandu and plan on returning for one of our upcoming theater nights.More
We have eaten at Xiandu Thai Fusion before . Food is good and service is good.
We called ahead for an early reservation and were seated promptly. We told them we would need to be on our way buy a certain time as we were...volunteering at the Walnut Street Theatre. They said that was no problem.
However we noticed when paying the bill that each item we ordered was $1 more then on the physical menu and their on line menus. 🤔 We were not informed that this would happen..
Since we had to be on our way we didn’t have time to question it...
But feel that someone should has apprised us if I’m fact there was a reason for and extra $4 ...More
Located two and a half blocks from the Walnut Street Theatre is a perfect location for us to visit after a matinee. The Yellow Curry and the Masaman Curry were very good and the Samosa made with filo pastry was unusual and very tasty. The...venue was upscale and cozy and the service was warm and friendly.More
We stayed in Philadelphia for 3 nights as part of our honeymoon trip. On the last night we fancied eating out and stumbled across this place on trip advisor so sought it out, and we were so glad we did.
When we arrived it was...just before 7pm, and therefore happy hour (a happy coincidence!) so we had the most incredible half price passionfruit mojitos. Followed by the nicest meal we’ve eaten this whole trip! I had the pad see ew, and my husband had the mango chicken. Followed by another couple of passion fruit mojitos ;-)
The staff were friendly, the setting is nice, and the food & drinks are incredible. Eat here!More
We had an awesome experience here - very attentive service from multiple different waiters, great food recommendations, and then great food! The papaya salad was really good, as were the drunken noodles. The outdoor seating area made everything even better!
