I think this was the worst restaurant experience I had in my life. The staff was extremely rude, starting with the hostess. We had a reservation for a 2pm birthday brunch with my boyfriend and when we asked if we could sit at another table...further away from a crowd of 8 people, we were told that “that table is not set, so you have to sit here”. There were at least 10 open tables around, so it was not busy at all and they closed at 4pm. We didn’t want to start an argument, so we just sat down. The hostess asked to take my coat and I said I just want to take something out of my pocket, which was met with “We’re not going to go through your pockets, you can keep your coat”. Then, when I asked for a spoon to stir sugar for our tea, the waiter said, “I imagine it’s hard to stir with your finger”. There were two tables, who also had a birthday and got a candle in their dessert, my boyfriend did not receive one, even though the reservation said that it was a birthday brunch. At the end, we received a confusing check that had a gratuity line and every time I asked about it, since a grand total and a total charged were different amounts, a different team member kept taking the check away and returning with a new copy. A third person told us that “we are not in the business of stealing” and “I have no control over what’s written on the check”. The food was amazing and I feel like if I’m going to spend $320 dollars for a vegan brunch, I wouldn’t receive such rude attitude on such a special day. They've completely ruined my boyfriend's birthday.More

The 3 star rating balances the cost in conjunction with the food offerings. The food was good for the most part but the number of dishes available was less than half of what they offered before. The dessert table was simply pathetic. Not only were...there few dishes they were often empty. When you pay $125 per as a base (they Automatically add a 17% tip). The brunch does include an entre which we thought was mediocre. We also had a child with us. They charge $65 but had nothing that would appeal to child eg pancakes, waffles. They also had NO bread options and there weren’t even crackers for the cheeses. (When we asked they did bring a small plate of bead to the table .On the dessert table they has a plate with a chocolate chip cookie and a Rice Krispie treat which most definitely looked store bought—the 5 year old was not impressed My disappointment is compounded because I remember how good this brunch was pre pandemic. Also my daughter had been there in April 2023 and said it was much much better than what we experienced . Bottom line —you do not get your money’s worth.More

There is no questioning that this is a refined establishment. Nothing ruffles them. But once you sit down, you'll have to reset your expectations. It's neither a traditional menu nor a tasting menu. The recommendation for a couple is several small and large plates. This...is quite a challenge if you're from out of town and want to get a full experience and won't have the chance to come back and revise the choices. A raclette tartine was warm and salty and buttery smooth but not memorable. The potato risotto was an interesting take on a rice dish and more pleasant in my opinion. A dab of caviar added more savoriness. We also had glazed sunchokes but it was less exciting. The lobster in sauce americaine was the best of the night - larger portion / well poached and delicately seasoned. Overall, there are better meals to be had and the overall experience was refined and a tad overpriced.More

Let me just say I have been to lacroix for brunch on Sundays many times over the years. It's absolutely the best splurge you can do. I have not however been there since covid hit. We decided to try dinner. Celebration of 2 birthdays and...anniversary with my husband and 2 kids 12 and 14. At first the waitress said my daughter (12) didn't have to get the tasting menu. Then it was only if she orders from the kids menu. So 3 if us were ordering the tasting menu, my daughter wanted just crab legs as a dinner. This is 50+ entree so I'm not sure why they would not allow it. Grilled cheese and other "kid" options were only it. Waitress who was very nice just wishishy washy for lack of a better word. So we all ended up having to do the tasting bc she did not want a grilled cheese. Anywho, the tastings were just good, nothing great or worth bragging about. 4 of the tastings served had caviar all over them. It was good but had I known this I definitely would have said please omit that for the kids. One serving was enough , I even got sick of all that caviar dish after dish. Compared to Jean George, Townsend, vernick , this was at the total bottom. For 900plus Dinner I feel you should be able to get what you want without feeling belittled. The manager wrote me personally after I had emailed them directly about the review. Their response : I was totally taken back my your review , I'll look into it. Never heard from them again. My advice is go to Jean George, beautiful view of the city, best service and great food. It's basically the same prices as Lacroix but you'll leave Lacroix underwhelmed. Trust me.More

Husband and I came for a pre-holiday treat. Once seated we were greeted nicely and drinks came timely. However upon receiving the drinks we were immediately barraged with an amuse bouche and bread and our first course all at the same time. We asked what...was the rush? No adequate answer. Following courses were better paced and delicious, however the wine pairings were 3 similar whites and one red too light to accompany the braised ribs. Dessert was quite average. Bill totaled $550.More

The food was actually very good, with a very inventive menu and the service was on point. We enjoyed our Library Bar cocktails and the courses were nicely timed and rather inventive. Really enjoyed the risotto and the pumpkin dish, along with the short rib....After dinner, rather than topping off the evening with an espresso or cappuccino and dessert, we were taken to an open room with a table of 5 finger food desserts that you would see at a catered affair and self served coffee. What a joke! $200 per person and no real dessert, no espresso and no service at all. Ruined the evening and made me think those in charge should refresh on hospitality, because they failed here. Fine dining and buffet NEVER mix......EVER. Cannot recommend and after the response I got will never go back. Stick to Vetri, Vernick, Zahav.....this place needs work.More

Five stars to the staff who did their best to accommodate my surprise and disappointment. We booked the Christmas brunch in early December (when the specific menu was not yet available) based on all the great brunch reviews. It was $150 per person. I was...shocked by the menu which was 95% dinner food with a side of runny scrambled eggs in a chaffing dish. There was no omelet station, no toast, no waffles, no pancakes, no muffins, no scones, no breakfast breads, no fruit juices, no yogurt, no granola, and no berries. They had smoked salmon but no bagels or bread to put it on and no cream cheese. Instead there was lamb, duck, steak, ham, raw oysters and dessert cakes. Not exactly the stuff you want to wake up and eat for breakfast. Really, they should just take away the sad chaffing dish of scrambled eggs and just market this meal as Lunch and Dinner. I can't believe I ended up paying $150 for a special order omelet with toast. But thank you to the staff who gave me something resembling breakfast at least.More

We planned to dine here for a special occasion. Fortunately we tried it a few days before and decided once was more than enough. Service was adequate. The room was really draughty. The food was weird. No conventional courses just vegetables and then meat or...fish served separately. Vegetables were VERY salty and could have been anything. Meat course was literally a lump of undercooked pork on a plate. No sided. No garnish. Nothing. Just too much seasoning to taste the meat.More

The wait staff swarmed around us pouring water and wiping clean the table and the food took FOREVER to arrive... truly one hour between courses. Excruciating.

This place is a total disgrace, so $28 for totally flavorless eggs, is this a joke?! In the same Rittenhouse square that has Parc and Devon restaurants?! Do yourself a favor and avoid this like a plague! Also service is awful! They say me and...my bf in the back and refuse to give me my orange juice (that was included!) and never apologized when I sent my purgatory eggs back in exchange for another disappointing omelette dish. I didn’t feel like asking for the manager, since it was too early for that. First and last time I’ve come to this place! Gross!More

The service is the best experienced anywhere in the US and not far off the best of European service. Servers usually come in twos, no hands cross your plate, everything is clean and finger-print free; they go the extra mile (producing an unlisted cocktail for...example and dealing with the car valet service near the end of our meal. Cassoulet of white beans, green olives and nasturtium was attractive, hot and deliciously well-balanced. The grilled lamb with fermented plum perfectly cooked medium-rare, again attractive on the plate a delicious. A young Cabernet Sauvignon from France was surprisingly complex, leggy, with good aromas and surprising body. This is an impressive restaurant with great views of the tree-filled Rittenhouse Square and we will be returning and considering staying at the Rittenhouse to do dinner and breakfast. HIGHLY Recommended.More

We visited PA in July. Lacroix was one of the recommendation from many website. We were glad we dine there. They offer a La cart menu as well as set menu. We chose a la cart menu but order more dishes than set menu. We...really like the portion of side. quite good. Over all the food taste good except Asian fusion dishes (mushroom) we do not recommend. We didn't finish the plate since it was so salty. We only taste the salt. We also ordered Dover sole fish that they recommend. The dish is just ok. There are too many ingredient on it from our opinion. The one we really like was Foie Gras. It was so creamy and delicious and they gave a big portion.More

2nd time. 1st time was about 4yrs ago. At that time my then 13 year old son said, "There are two restaurants that have made me smile, Per Se and LaCroix." So post-covid, with an older but wiser son in tow, we checked LaCroix out....Were they all that, post-covid with 4 years of maturation under the belt? I must say yes even with a new chef, LaCroix delivered. Culinary technique? Check. Creativity? Check. Bang for the buck? CHECK! We had dined at Gabriel Kreuther's in NYC a few days before. While GK's best surpassed Lacroix (smoked sauerkraut with sturgeon and aged duck breast. Best duck breast ever!), I must say LaCroix just slays it in terms of area under the curve. Every dish was very good to awesome. At $155 per 6 courses compared to $255 at GK, LaCroix wins. Mind you, GK is no slouch. With Manhattan pricing in mind, it was worthwhile. However. I must give the overall value to LaCroix. Mind you, I have not been to Parc. Vernick, etc. in Philly. However, I would be perfectly happy to go to LaCroix again and again.More
