As New Jersey travelers, we would never have stumbled upon this restaurant without word of mouth or, in our case, Trip Advisor. There is one small sign as you enter a campus housing office buildings, then another as you enter the parking lot of the Brave building. No massive flashing sign, just a small placard at the driveway entrance. You enter and take the elevator to the first floor, then walk to find the restaurant's entrance; I was hoping we didn't need a password! This elegant restaurant is nicely appointed and offers wonderful views of the river, especially if you opt for the patio tables. It got crowded quickly, and we were happy we made a reservation. To our surprise, our server was Peter, who we met earlier in the week in Hot Springs. Our food was delicious and nicely appointed; after our salads, I had the roasted pork tenderloin finished with a whole-grain mustard sauce and my wife the fish of the day. We closed by sharing a tasty and light cheese cake over hot coffee; Peter shared his secret in keeping the beverage hot. Finally, we took pictures with Peter overlooking the river to close a memorable evening and touring week.

We went to dinner at Brave last night for our anniversary dinner. The location is a little strange but it’s pretty clear when you walk in the building where you need to go. The ambience in the dining room is neat and somewhat art nouveau. We went to the bar before our table was ready to have a drink. Definitely not a very welcoming bar area as it’s pretty tiny and all the chairs but two butt up in front of a wall on the side of a servers hallway. So, don’t go to Brave to “just have drinks.” We got seated at a table directly underneath the AC vent and it was freezing, so that was rather unpleasant. Our server gave great service and also - the hostess was really kind and attentive. My husband ordered the tenderloin and it was cooked perfectly. He also enjoyed the sides that came with it. I ordered the scallops special w/bacon & apple risotto. The scallops were seared correctly and the flavor was good, but the dish overall was overly sweet; it definitely needed some acid and a tinge of heat/spice. We wanted to order dessert but were just too cold. Overall, we would try Brave again, perhaps when it’s a bit lighter out so we could have a view of the river.

I took my friend here for her birthday and we both had a great experience. We both got the ribeye and it was cooked correctly (I am med-rare and she is med-well). The vegetable side was delicious and was correctly cooked (not too hard/soft). I just wish it would have been light out to see the river. The two-top table is pretty small so hard to have bread plates, appetizer, and your meal on the table. Server was decently attentive without hovering.

We went here for lunch because of the raved reviews. I’m not sure why… first it’s extremely hard to find. Then we waited forever to be seated because there wasn’t a host available. We got sat and the view was nice and the bread was good but very messy to eat. I got the grilled chicken sandwich which was bland, and the bun was burnt. My chips were burnt as well. My boyfriend had the burger he said it was ok. Before we had even finished half our plates our server asked if we were ready for dessert, again we hadn’t even finished our main meal. I wouldn’t go back and wouldn’t recommend. It’s just ok, could be better.

A disappointment. Drinks beforehand at the bar were fine. Unfortunately the best part of dinner was the bread. Our salads came out absolutely swimming in what was actually a very nice dressing. My stuffed chicken was dry and tasteless, and if it was stuffed I never got that far. The accompanying roasted potatoes were very ordinary and the squash and zucchini was worthy of a modest chain restaurant. The red cabbage was good. Overall a disappointment.

Located in a building that says "Armor Bank" on the outside and nothing else. Restaurant is on the second floor. Enjoyed everything I tried. Servers were friendly and knowledgeable about the menu, and the food came out very quickly. Not cheap, but for the amount of food you get and the quality of the meal, I thought the prices were actually pretty reasonable compared to similar restaurants in other cities.

A coworker and I were in town for work and had a quick break for lunch. The staff was accommodating to our time sensitive request and had our lunch out to us in less than 15 minutes. Highly recommend the smoked salmon sandwich! The food was delicious and the view of the river made a stressful day a little more relaxing! Will definitely be back!

Wonderful dinner and ambience. It’s situated on the Arkansas River and we sat on the patio. We both had walleye, a white fish flown in daily from Lake Superior. Yummy new potatoes and grilled veggies along with a salad. We ordered two desserts; vanilla crème brûlée and homemade butterscotch ice cream. The service was superb.

Wow! A great experience! I was in town for business and like to try new places. I was interested in this place because of the menu and the location with a view of the river. Upon arriving I discovered it was in a large building I guess a combo bank and maybe apartments. Parking was filled and the parking garage was for permits only. Not to worry there was plenty of parking on the other side of the street and hill which made for more of a walk. I entered on the ground floor and an elevator takes you up to the first floor. It looked like a hallway for an apartment building but I could here people and followed the sound then behold the restaurant filled with people and a beautiful few. I asked to sit at the bar and the greeter said there was a 2 top I could take if I wished next to the bar. So I did. Loved the view. I was greetly quickly by my server . O oredered Goat Cheese Mousse Appet fantastic. Then Scallops fantastic as well. 4 huge Scallops I cut into 4 pieces so 16 large pieces on a light sauce. Carrots , potatoes green beans. All seasoned well and tasty. The green beans were tough and stringy. I received some type of salad which was beautiful but I didn't care for the dressing. Then followed up with Chocolate Brulee which was fantastic. I had a wonderful night. I might add the place was busy and lively which I love. Also there is seating outside which was full. 5 stars. Thank you

Had a terrific experience at Brave New Restaurant. If weather permits, ask for seating on the balcony. Attentive service. Two outstanding soups started the meal, a five onion and a hearty mushroom. Tasty house salad with spring greens, roasted vegetables and a subtle Dijon balsamic dressing. The sautéed walley with cranberry beurre blanc was outstanding. I was worried that cranberry might be overpowering, but it was subtle and perfectly balanced. The only downside on the plate was some overcooked summer squash. The other dish we had was a chicken on risotto with pecans. Wonderfully complex. A great meal.

Brave New Restaurant is where I chose to celebrate my birthday again this year. They dropped the ball on my reservation that I had placed back in January, but we worked together to figure it out and they managed to accommodate our party. The food was delicious as always. I am appreciative of the consistency in their dishes regarding taste and flavor, every time I go.

Brave New never disappoints. The atmosphere reflects an elegant charm with impressive River views. If you are lucky, you might see the bald eagle perch in the trees while enjoying a lobster ravioli. The menu offers an array of delicacies to satisfy any discerning palate. Recently, I enjoyed a house made Buffalo sausage, walleye with grand mariner beurre blanc, scallops and a new dessert. Normally, I always enjoy the chocolate crème brûlée with a house roasted coffee. But, the chef had fresh, Arkansas strawberries. He created a strawberry tres leches. It was simply amazing!

The hardest part is finding this hidden gem. It’s in a tan building marked “Armor Bank”. Take the elevator to the second floor and take the left to the end of the hall. The first thing I noticed when I walked in was the wonderful view. Our waitress Payton was a delight and efficient. Her recommendations were spot on. I loved the savory mushroom soup and my husband enjoyed the mild sweetness of the onion soup. I had the well seasoned sirloin with sautéed vegetables and delicious Parmesan French fries. My husband had the tasty lobster ravioli. First restaurant I have been to in awhile where I didn’t have to add salt/pepper. We left the restaurant not only full but our palates were satisfied. Made reservations for dinner for later in the week. Looking forward to our dinner visit. Of course this spectacular treat to your palate is more affordable during lunch.

My husband and I were so excited to celebrate our anniversary here. We read the reviews and menu ahead of time. When I got my meal it tasted as though the steak was boiled. The parmesan fries were shriveled up with 3 skinny asparagus pieces on top. I couldnt eat the steak. I tried the middle pieces and out side. It was chewy and tough. The fries were a greasy pile of shoestring fries that were not very good. The server was great, but on the way out I asked the hostess if I could speak with the manager about the food. She wasn't very pleasant. She said they didnt have a manager there today. I tried to tell her about the steak and she walked away. We went there 2 days ago.

This restaurant is amazing and a wonderful surprise. Brave New Restaurant and Chef Peter Brave truly understand what good food is. The food is fresh, flavorful and skillfully prepared. We are especially fond of the seasonal tomato/ burrata, scallops, pork tenderloin and chocolate crème brûlée . The servers are very knowledgeable and charming. Both times we have been to the restaurant Peter was on site and personally greeted us.
