Low light and industrial ambience with brick walls and concrete floors. We have been longing for great French Onion soup and this was finally it. Ceasar salads were small but wonderful. They had just served their last Scallop Martini so I switched my order to the "Tree of Life" which was an outstandingly prepared cauliflower steak.
William our server guided us along the way and suggrsted that the fried brussel sprouts do not disappoint...they did not. Amazing. He was awesome. We even got to spend a few minutes with the owner and chef Nick Copeland.
If anywhere close...go here!!!!

We dined here on a Sunday night with clients, which meant that it wasn't super busy. The food was outstanding, as was our waitress and the overall atmosphere of the restaurant. We shared the seafood fondue; it was indulgent and delicious. But don't expect a true fondue; it was more like a baked cheese and seafood dip. For my entree, I had the Oscar Prime Filet with bone marrow mashed potatoes and grilled asparagus. Everything, and I mean everything, about the dish was DIVINE. The meat was so tender I could cut it with my fork, and asparagus was seasoned to perfection, and the mashed potatoes were heavenly. We ended the meal by sharing the Chocolate Sack. While the entire dessert was delicious, the raspberry compote/jam was everyone's favorite flavor component - it played so well against the rich chocolate and creams. I can't wait to try more items from their menu based on my first experience.

Food and atmosphere is excellent. Service is not so reliable. We had excellent service when we hosted a group of 10 and reserved the front area by the window. Had poor service when 5 of us had dinner a couple of months later.

I’m all about giving restaurants a pass given the fact that there is employee instability and 2 years of a pandemic that has seen myriad openings and closings, but last night’s dinner was probably the lowest example of a restaurant failing so badly that it should be put out of its misery. We arrived on time for our reservation. My friend had been waiting at the bar for a drink, but no one ever asked him if he wanted one. No one acknowledged us for about the first 10 minutes, although several waitstaff walked by us. Then a rather unkempt person who we think worked there waived us to a table in the corner and said someone would be by with menus. We waited for a while and eventually a young man who seemed extremely unhappy to be there asked us if we wanted drinks. He said he didnt have any menus for us but he would try to get some. We ordered drinks. We waited for our menus. Finally, one drink came. And then one menu. Eventually two other drinks were brought out (there were 4 drinks ordered) and one of those drinks had an ant floating in it. OMG! DISGUSTING!!!! We called the reluctant waiter over to the table and he just shrugged and said he would bring our guest another. Her drink never came and no one in the restaurant even bothered to comment. My drink finally came and while it tasted like nothing like I ordered i was happy to at least get a drink. Finally, a couple of other paper menus were tossed at our table and by this point we wondered would it actually be safe to eat seafood in a place as careless and haphazard as this place. We decided to try our old standby the blackened seafood fondue and when we realized our old standby had now been reduced to blackened soup we just decided to cut our losses and head to another restaurant to enjoy a beautiful meal. We are sad to see that So has taken such an awful turn. It used to be an elegant restaurant filled with delectable and unique entrees, not to mention sporting the best bartender in town who knew how to make every drink with sophistication and perfection. RIP SO, i hope you can get your act together because at this level of service and the prices you are charging you probably wont survive long!

Worst Valentine’s Day dining experience due to a preset menu at $125 per person. Really?
Customers were not informed of this until arrival. No real food choices—extremely limited offerings. Mediocre service, expensive drinks, and no sides were served with a limited entree menu. I personally witnessed 10-12 people leave after being seated and never were served. We tried to stay for dessert, but after being there over 2 hours it was a real waste of our time. No fine dining experience here. Do yourself a favor and avoid this place. Quality and quantity are not present here.

Been to SO a couple times. The food is generally very good, but I have had similar dishes at other fine restaurant. On average SO seems to price their food about $4 higher per dish, and you get less food. For example, I had a duck entree at SO that cost $32 and there were only 2 breast medallions on the plate. I have had very similar duck entrees at a number of places in Little Rock, paid about $28 and got the entire duck breast on the plate. I've seen similar differences in other items on their menu. Also the service, while good is quite slow with nearly an hour passing between seating and arrival of the entrees being our experience. Also, the last time we were there it was a cold fall day, but getting inside we found the restaurant to be nearly as cold as the outdoors. The front door was propped wide open, a draft ran the length of the building and if the heat was on you could not tell because the stone masonry sucks up any heat in the place. I'm not prone to being chilly at all but kept my coat on the whole meal.

Grilled chicken was rubbery after 2 bites I was done french fries were $8 and super greasy, Coke was short on sweetness. My wifes 2nd glass of wine was short. Every thing is overpriced and not even mediocre. The building as a whole needs an update. The walls were nasty looking.

Terrible Valentines Day experience. Nothing was posted stating regular menu wasn’t available & limited choice for $125 per person. Numerous customers left this place. Can’t blame them.

We were excited to try this restaurant, ive been wanting to eat there for years. Well, the opportunity finally arose and i found myself (with my small family) finally there! OH BOY!!! i was so elated! The tone was set from the very beginning with a very... wired up (tweeking, on drugs??) guy that seemed...almost pissed that he had to...do his job and seat us. The waitress wasn't very different. Ok, i thought, what is lacking in the service, i KNOW, will be made up in the FOOD!!! i ordered the french onion soup for a starter....10 minutes later was told they were out. OKKKK....ill have the fried artichoke hearts. Well....crap....they were TERRIBLE!! Overdone on the outside and underdone on the inside. And NO FLAVOR, whatsoever. Just seriously AWFUL. The other 2 people at my table's order's were just....i really hate to say this but....how in God's green earth can you charge over FIFTY dollars for a steak that had no seasoning, no...nothing. It was seriously gross. Just GROSS. And the other entree, the fish, was so saturated with flavorless butter that i felt so bad for my guest bc she said she only ate it bc she felt like it would be rude if she didn't. The ENTIRE experience was UNPLEASANT, to say the least. The guy that sat us was so OBVIOUSLY on drugs that it was embarrassing andthe waitress...well...it was apparent that she felt she had better things to do than take care of us. i will NEVER, EVVVER, EVVVVER step foot in this "establishment" again. Pathetic. Absolutely pathetic. i honestly could have gotten a better tasting, more FLAVORFUL meal from sonic.

SO totally inappropriate (pun intended).... did not advertise the exorbitant fixed price (told you after you were seated), cold food--even though it has potential, poorly trained waitress, 30 to 40 minutes between (each of the four) courses, and we were there at 5:30 (finally left well over 2 1/2 hours later). All for an over $600 check for two people.
We've eaten at SO, SO many times.... never again. Waitress disappeared...probably from embarrassment, and NEVER apologized for the time between courses or cold food. She never "presented " the wine, she just poured it (won't even dignify the process to say she "served" it). That's just poor training.... or maybe management just doesn't care.
Read all the reviews from this specific date... we're all saying the same thing. This was not just us.... this was systemic.
Maybe SO can handle a small group of diners (reflecting on other positive reviews from others on different nights).... but if you're going to take reservations on a special night, be prepared and know that you can handle them...with quality and care.
Little Rock needs some good restaurants. For SO to disappear would not be a tragedy as it is not a good restaurant.

Seated 30 minutes late. 45 minutes after orders were placed, apps and entrees were not started. Waiter was apologetic. We left.

So is a very nice restaurant located on the edge of Hillcrest. Easy to park and the restaurant is very quiet, somewhat unusual in Little Rock. The bar is well-stocked and the highlight of the restaurant. We enjoyed a cheese plate (enormous and very good), salmon and the filet mignon, and the "bag" - a very good dessert suitable for two with leftovers.
Appetizers, drinks, and desserts are your best bet here. I found the filet mignon over-cooked and the asparagus side unimaginative. Perfect spot for a cocktail and salad or chees plate - but I dinner just didn't hit the spot for us.

We hadn’t been to SO in a while... we went with friends and all had a superbly delicious meal! The wine, the entrees and the dessert were exceptional. I had the Chicken Marsala. Delicious! Service was excellent. In the winter I prefer the main dining room, but in summer the enclosed porch is lovely. We’ll be back soon.

I’ve eaten here over the years (all during the previous ownership), but yesterday must have been a “one-off” as a bad experience. We came for Father’s Day. Limited Brunch menu, most of which did not look appealing to me at all. They did not look busy. We waited for right at 45 minutes before we got served. I’m not sure maybe it was a kitchen malfunction I don’t know. Our server was very pleasant. When the food did come it looked very appealing and I will say the bacon off my wife’s dish was excellent. My waffles on the other hand tasted like they sat out on the counter for a good couple hours before being served. Tough and chewy is the best way to explain. If you can’t cook a waffle don’t put it on the menu! There were no other complaints at the table though... Again maybe it was just a “So-So” day....

This is a great little restaurant in Little Rock. Food was excellent. I had the Spring soup and 7 oz filet meal. We had a party of 6 and all said their food was delicious.
Of course we had chocolate sack dessert. Definitely a must.
