By far the tastiest Indian restaurant in all of NY, not fancy, not expensive, just really really good food.

I left a bad tip partly because I only ordered 17 dollars worth of food. 17 dollars worth of food here goes a long way and I was surprised with the portion sizes, the protein content, and the authentic flavor. Probably my new favorite spot.
I just needed a snack and Curry in a Hurry has an array of small take out foods including vegetable, chicken and beef samosas to go. I stopped in first for the chicken samosa and it was delicious filled with chopped chicken and heavily spiced....Still it was crisp to bit into and the chicken tasted so good with a combination of curry and cumin. I stopped in later for a beef samosa and that was even better as it had just come from the over and the beef was really well spiced, filled to capacity and studded with peas. It was excellent. At $2.00 each it was a real steal and a nice little snack to tide me over for the afternoon.More
Staff was friendly, atmosphere was good. The food they served was delicious, real bangladeshi test. The Sweets of Bangladesh was really testy.
We stopped by Curry In A Hurry after a long day of walking around NYC. We spotted a meal deal 1 meat, 1 veg option rice and a salad for 11.99. I asked for a spicy chicken dish which didnt end up being spicy but...tasted homemade and bland. I also ordered the palak paneer which was lukewarm and had no taste. My meat dish had 3 pieces of meat attached to the bone. The first leg was fine and i continued with the second piece then finally after cutting into the 3rd piece i noticed the meat was pink and red by which time i had already eaten the 2nd piece after closer inspection ithe remnants were also red and pink. I felt awful so mentioned this to a member of staff who said he would speak to the manager. I also told him i was pregnant and worried as i was in my first trimester 10.4 weeks. I immediately wanted to make myself sick. The man returned without the manager and no apology assuring no thats normal the meat was cooked and offered me more meat!!!! I wish i had taken a picture to show you but why would i want to eat more meat if i believed they served uncooked chicken absolutely disgusting! He told me to speak to the manager on the way out. I started googling and baby forums came up with all sorts of articles i was worried and scared how could i have been soo stupid to eat in this dive. On the way out the managers were hiding i had to wait 5mins to be seen. I explained the situation that i was worried the meat was uncooked and i am pregnant and worried for my baby. He told me the meat was cooked and was normal and they have never had any issues in all the years they had been opened and dismissed me. He said he eats it and hes fine I explained that hes not pregnant and that i am and this could be harmful to my baby. I was wasting my time he asked me what i wanted to do and i had to ask for my money back. At this point i was too upset so we left. Please be careful here!!!More
The decor looks rundown and the bathroom was wet and not clean...they can do a lot better and up the game with slightly more attention from the owner. It seems bit laid back due to its location and pulling on due to its legacy of...being around for a longer time compared to other similar restaurants in the area. There should be a designated bathroom cleaner who does the cleaning/mopping regularly. I am hesitant to see how the kitchen is. The food was not bad although bit pricey. If you are hungry and want a quick fill, it won’t let you down.More
I've been eating at this restaurant for more than fifteen years, I've always enjoyed its excellent cuisine, but yesterday I ate badly for the first time. Yellow Dhal without lentils, only dirty water. Palak Paneer without spinach, just a tasteless cream. Old and warmed Tikka...Masala chicken. Going away I asked if the management or the Chef had changed, but the manager replied that nothing had changed. I will only give another chance, but this was really bad.More
Good quality food and service, wide range of dishes. Clean, basic restaurant as you would expect from an Indian cafe. Exceptional value. Not as spicy as you would get in the UK.
Granted, the name pretty much sums up what the dining "experience" will be like, but it's even more no frills than expected in terms of the overall atmosphere. We went on a Saturday evening - a busy time, granted, but that's no excuse for the...food being cold by the time we brought our trays upstairs to the "dining" area. Unless I truly were in a huge hurry, I wouldn't go back, frankly; there are so many more better choices in the neighborhood - more expensive, perhaps, but nevertheless, infinitely better overall.More
The food is very good. I went there twice for lunch in a week. It is simply delicious. Not too spicy and they give you plenty. We were three and I sampled the other dishes they were all good. The staff is friendly, it is...a simple place but if you want good food I recommend it. It is just amazing and you have plenty of choices.More
