Three of us went to John’s and shared two large pizzas - they are large! Thin crust with amazing tomato sauce these pizzas are worth hunting down. They don’t sell slices so be prepared for a whole pie. The restaurant is very cool with small...More

Came in to have lunch with hubby at about 2pm today. No line, thankfully. Place looks unassuming from the outside. Walk into a quirky dining room with carvings on the walls and chairs, which I actually thought gave the place a cool vibe and was...More

John's serves up old-fashioned New York pizza -- whole pies, not by the slice -- on worn formica tabletops enclosed by ancient wooden booths. Nothing fancy, everything delicious.

Loved this place. Tiny and ALL resources go into the making of the pizza. The guys there were great and clearly take pride in what they do as they should be proud! I had the recommended fresh mozzarella and basil. Sooo good with large slice...More

Find the line outside on the sidewalk and stand in it. You will be rewarded with good pizza. The place is crowded and the booths are small (and uncomfortable) but the pizza is good.

John’s was recommended so we popped in for lunch. Ordered two large pizzas with different toppings on each half. They were nice, but I not a regular pizza eater. Good place for a quick snack rather than a long dinner.

Best pizza ever! Can understand why it’s the best pizza in New York. The ingredients are fresh it was cooked to perfection in a coal fire oven. Service was great and atmosphere funky. Don’t miss!

We were greeted quickly and provided with a table. The service was very attentive and we were taken care of during the course of the meal. We started with a freshly seasoned salad. The pizza was one of the best I've had. Recommended

West Village
Stretching from Sixth Avenue to the Hudson River, the
West Village is one of the city’s most coveted
addresses. Full of trendy shops, historic taverns, and
cozy restaurants set amid 19th century architecture,
this neighborhood has a unique old-world feel. You
won’t find a more picturesque location in Manhattan.
Without the traditional city grid layout, it’s easy to
get lost here, but that’s part of the fun as you

Pretty much: there basic pizza is tomato and cheese to which you can add toppings. Adding fresh tomato and basil makes for a wonderful feast.

John's of Bleecker Street is a historic pizzeria founded in 1929 by Italian immigrant John Sasso. It serves quintessentially New York coal-fired pizza, famous for its perfect brick-oven baked crust and zesty tomato sauce. John's is still family owned and operated, and boasts such celebrities as Conan O'Brien, Sarah Jessica Parker, and Danny DeVito. In 2016, it was voted #2 in America in the nationwide poll conducted by MSN.
