I went for lunch. The menu was able to reach out without reading like a novel. The dining area is comfortable and quiet. Very clean. The staff was attentive and friendly. The food was as expected. I'd go often if it was near me.

We've been eating here for more than thirty years and still love the food, the romance of the red leather booths, cocktails, and the friendly neighborhood atmosphere.

Thank you for taking the time to write a great review. We are the neighborhood place.... Chef Clara does a great job in preparing delicious daily specials.

I only had two nights in NYC, and about 8 million restaurants to choose from, and I wanted something that felt old school, kinda dark, wood paneling, heavily accented waitresses...Knickerbockers delivered. Oh and the food was scrumptious. Not pretentious, just classy.

We had the T-Bone steak and the Fettuccine Bolognese. We had no reservation but got a table within a few minutes even though the restaurant was very busy. Really authentic American interior and excellent and observant waiter. The T-Bone was cooked to perfection and the...More

What a great place for a drink. Great customers. Just watch out for the $11 dollar “specialty beers”. We’re talking Goose Island IPA. $50 for 4 beers. Ouch. Tourist beware.More

This charming gem of a restaurant serves perfectly cooked steaks, seafood and burgers in a wonderful old-fashioned urban environment. Linen napkins, friendly, attentive service and a good reasonably priced wine list. Fun people-watching place very close to NYU.

The Knickerbocker has been around forever, great for brunch and dinner, or nurse a cold beer on the weekends and watch a game. The burgers are delicious... and the truffle fries are awesome!

The place is iconic. NO! It is reminiscent of times gone by. I had the pleasure of visiting for a meeting and friendly reunion with old coworkers and I was pleasantly surprised upon entering how quaint this place is. Beer, whiskey, appetizers, and more... nothing...More

The group had a casual, noisy, wonderful evening at this throw back spot. The caviar pie lives up to the reputation. The lamb tenderloin flatbread was the surprise hit of the evening. The steaks were all spectacular and everyone enjoyed the meal, ambiance and service.

Really lovely feel to this place with real, professional bar and waiting staff and what appeared to be real “locals” at the bar. Good food, big portions and good value. Really pleased to have found this place

Thank you for your nice review. And yes we are "Authentic", the neighborhood favorite for over 41 years. Many of those bar regulars are from when we opened. Hope you join us again, and we earn a 5 star rating..

Description
We are a Classic American Steakhouse in the heart Greenwich Village. Wood panel walls, and comfy booths, give the feel of an earlier era. In business for over 40 years, serving Great American Fare and our Famous 28 oz T Bone Steaks. We feature Live Jazz on Friday and Saturday Evenings starting at 9:00 till 1:00. Harry Connick Jr. got his start at the Knick. We have our share of local celebrities from Chris Noth, Alec Baldwin, F. Murray Abraham, Josh Charles, Jessica Lange, just to name a few. Good Food & Good Jazz is what we are. Most items are all made on premise, from house made desserts, ice creams and sorbets, to our house made pastas and house smoked salmon, and our popular Caviar Pie. We pour a good drink at reasonable prices, as are our portions of food. Our T Bone Steaks include creamed spinach and mashed potatoes.
