Another wonderful spot by Daniel Boulid. Can’t go wrong with his establishments. The food was wonderful. The drinks were wonderful.

Daniel is a great restaurant in New York City. The food and drinks are tasty. Everything was delicious. Great team who are professionals.
Dear Jan, we are thrilled to know the food, drinks, and professionalism of our staff met your expectations for a great dining experience. Your kind words are greatly appreciated, and we look forward to welcoming you back soon. Best Regards, Karim Guedouar, Daniel
I’ll start off by saying that while I don’t consider myself some frasieresque elitist who eats at places like this regularly I do have more than plentiful experience eating at a relatively wide variety of highly acclaimed restaurants both in and out of the US...(although NYC is a focus point) which I believe would develop in anyone a perspective through which a restaurant like this can be judged. All this isn’t to say it’s a bad place to have dinner; the service was just the right level of attentive and the dining room was elegant while not drawing attention away from the other people at your table. My main issue is with the food itself… I had come here, in part, to impress my companion, but mostly to satisfy my desire to eat here considering the reputation. When you mention eating at Restaurant Daniel in an off-handed manner I’ve found many people both immediately recognize the place and express incredulity at such a prodigal exercise. Needless to say, I had waited for a good time to go for some time. Needless to say, I went in with high expectations. It was in that vain I got the seven course tasting menu. I found the start to be interesting, essentially three mini dishes which felt like a three course meal being served to a fairy tale giant. This was again followed with an interesting foie gras spread which my companion expressed to my agreement had an almost chocolate quality. At this point I am more than satisfied with the meal thus far and somewhat excited to see what comes next presuming the same uniqueness and quality of the first two dishes. Needless to say, I was sorely mistaken. After this my memory is foggy, as some of the dishes seem to just blend together in my memory on account of their frankly bland experience. There was essentially some fish and seaweed with drops of sauce, white truffle drizzled in a white truffle soup with dots of black truffle, another fish thing, bison (which was tasty but was small and the only meat course), and a couple more dishes. This fog isn’t because I wasn’t paying attention, I could describe every course I’d had at Gabriel Kreuther more than a year ago in excruciating detail, but because so many of the courses were uninventive and frankly boring considering the price. Even dessert seemed a bit off, it had a white outer coating and a chocolaty inside that somehow was less bold than the chocolate undertones of the foie gras. The coffee was great though! None of this is to say I disliked the food, but it seems to me like fine dining at its worst. portions so small I got a lobster roll and grand central terminal for the ride back, flavors so subtle they seem almost afraid to make a serious impression, and this je ne sais quois, which felt almost pretentious at times (my companion and I were definitely sure some of the staff were putting on fake French accents) I’ve mostly focused on the negatives, but given the price I think that much is fair. I’d still like to make clear that I didn’t dislike my experience, but the opposite of love is apathy, right?More

Daniel keeps getting better. It has been a while since I came and this time I felt that they are at their peak. We had a short timeline of only 1.5 hours but managed to fit in a perfect 4-course meal. Each dish was beautifully...served and delicious as well as unique. I kept repeating, " I am so happy". I eat out quite a bit and this meal is my favorite for 2024 yet!More

I was there in September. The service was very good but I was very disappointed in my food. The pork was very dry. I have dined at very fine Michelin star restaurants elsewhere and Daniel was not on par with those sadly.More

One of the best culinary experiences we’ve had in a long time. The food was extraordinary and the service was top notch. We savored every course. And they did a lovely job celebrating my mom’s 85th birthday (we indicated on ressy and didn’t remind them)...and made her feel so special. It was a beautiful experience all around and I highly recommend. Look forward to going back.More
Dear Denise, your extraordinary feedback is truly amazing to receive. We are delighted to know that you savored each course, and we were honored to be a part of the birthday celebration! Best regards, Karim Guedouar, Daniel
Honestly of the 4 Michelin star restaurants we went to in NYC on this trip, Daniel was the only one we were disappointed in. The food was not memorable in flavor - only in presentation and in service. For example, one course was the least...memorable tuna dish I have ever had. The minimal sauce provided with plain raw tuna did nothing to taste special. We had eaten at Le Jardinere and at The Modern the nights before. We felt both meals at those places were much better food and at similar prices.More

Had high expectations, but sadly left disappointed. This was meant to be a special night, celebrating a birthday. Space is beautiful, elegant. We arrived 10 minutes early, and as the table was not ready yet, sat in the lobby enjoying a glass of champagne, watching...3 other couples arriving and seated ahead of us. When we were seated, it felt like we were being seated at the kiddies table. Small table. Service was fine, though 90 minutes into a 4 course dinner only had one course. The rest came out fast. Apart from the extra truffle course, everything was just ok. Nothing what I would have expected from a 2 star. And we do travel and dine a lot. Then the really disappointing part was when they brought a small tart with a candle in to wish my husband happy birthday, whilst bringing a large cake to two separate couples celebrating their birthdays. Felt as if we were treated like second class guests. I guess you have to be a regular here. Well, we will not be back. Very different experience at Le Bernadin where every time, we are made feel special and the food are absolutely top notch.More

We love restaurant daniel and have been fortunate to dine here 3 years in a row. The dining room feels like a movie set with starched tablecloths and napkins. Its open and beautiful and set up to people watch. We ordered the pre fixe menu,...as usual, and as usual each course was outstanding in presentation and quality. Service was excellent, again as usual, prompt but not suffocating, and all the drinks were a very healthy pour. All diners were dressed in a manner that compliments a great restaurant, thanks to Daniels attention to dress code, and it makes a marked difference in enjoyment for those dining. Please do not change anything and thank you for a truly wonderful dining destinationMore

Definitely a 3 Michelin star experience. Food was divine. The service was exceptional. I see why this restaurant has earned its storied reputation. Javier was our server and he made for a grand meal. The cooked at the table side foie gras was classically flamboyant,...yet understated. The white cosmo with the orchid ice cube was beautiful and delicious. I would encourage you to dress in your finest if you have plans to go here. This is a truly fancy fine dining experience.More
Dear Salish, we love providing unforgettable experiences, so your thoughtful comments are appreciated by everyone here. Please know, it would be our pleasure to welcome you again! Best regards, Karim Guedouar, Daniel
I was really looking forward to this dinner. I took the seven course menu, expecting to be amazed. Unfortunately, I ended up leaving the restaurant disappointed. The meat was surprisingly tough in more than one of the dishes, and there was something off with the...seasoning - some dishes lacked salt and others were excessively acidic. I’ve never encountered anything like this in a Michelin star restaurant. There were some good dishes, but nothing exceptional - and at least two or three dishes where something was clearly wrong. The service was polite and efficient, but it wasn’t enough to save the evening - especially when you consider the price of the menu.More
