Revisited this small Chinese staff run eatery (not a Japanese sushi chef) midtown Manhattan; had to wait 20 mins for table. (1-2P) Food was freshly made and well presented (sashimi and yakisoba). Washed down with some hot sake. Good value lunch special.

A small group of us came here for a light supper. 3 of us split two avocado salads (too heavy on the iceberg lettuce but the ginger dressing was lovely). Then we had 3 different sushi rolls: yellowtail and scallion; triple spicy and naruto with...salmon. All were very good, the triple spicy were absolutely awesome! The endamame were yummy. I look forward to exploring the menu more on future visits.More

Every time we are in the city, wheres the first place we head? Aji!! We love our home away from home. We walk in the door and are immediately greeted by the warm and friendly staff who lead us directly to our usual seat at...the sushi bar!! At this point - we don't even look at the menu. Edamame, Sashimi Dinner, and a "Surprise Us you know what we like" roll which never disappoints! (Although you can never go wrong with the Kiss of Fire). The fish is always fresh, the presentation is always beautiful and the staff which we call family is always smiling and attentive. I wonder how many times we will go back before we leave this time! PS Don't forget the Green Tea or Red Bean Fried Ice Cream!More

Husband and I went there for lunch. This is one of several sushi restaurants in the neighborhood. For $10, he got a bento box; I ordered a sushi lunch for $13. I particularly liked the selection of fish provided to me - tuna, flounder, shrimp,...and a couple of other "safe" selections. (I have a timid palate.) The small salad that was included in the meal primarily consisted of iceberg lettuce, and the miso soup was what you'd expect at a decent Japanese restaurant. The chicken katsu was crispy, but a bit dry. For $6, I was able to obtain a small bottle of Ozeki dry sake to accompany this pleasant repast. Best time to visit this restaurant is lunch, when a fine meal can be had without putting a serious hole in your budget; an increasingly rare pleasure in Manhattan.More

I checked into a nearby hotel the evening before an early flight and needed to kill a few hours, so I walked around and stumbled onto this place I checked out the menu and it looked good and I asked what time they closed. They...said 11. I said ok and went to get my husband. We cane back at 10:15. As soon as we walked in the server rolled her eyes. They told us to sit anywhere then came over and said that they close at 10:45 and were we ready to order...this was literally the second after we sat down. I tried to quickly locate what I had seen earlier and ask my husband what he wanted but she stood over us and made us very uncomfortable. I was a sever for 10 years so I know the feeling when a late customer comes in but ive always served those customers with the same great service that everyone else gets. Under no circumstances should a customer feel unwelcome especially 45 min before closing with something that is quick to prepare Luke sushi. We left and took our business to Nana sushi two doors down where they served us with a smile.More

Within walking distance of our Midtown hotel. The sushi was fresh and affordable for the City. The menu had plenty of options and fresh fruit (dessert) was included. The restaurant seemed popular (dine in, carry out and delivery). The service was excellent - best we...had while in NYC.More

Primarily we order in but the food is fresh and perfect . Love the chef specialty rolls- never disappointed when I experiment. Always get the Gyoza! If you eat in, the space is small and very modest. Sit at the counter and watch the sushi...makers do their thing.More

Booked this for a Sunday lunch with a 2 family group, based on decent reviews and being one of few Japanese restaurants open on Sunday lunch. We lucked out on all fronts. The food was tasty and fresh. SAshimi think and melt in mouth. Nice...tempura. Soft shell crab rolls to die for. Service was warm and meal was nicely paced. Atmosphere was good and good air on a blessing for an Englishman in New York in August. Prices very fair too Definitely to be recommended.More
