During our stay in NY, we went a few times for breakfast to Best bagel and coffee, since it was conveniently located close to Herald Square it offered a wide choice of Bagels and fillings.
We tried several and they were all flavorful, fairly priced and staff was friendly.
Not the best bagel, but for sure in the top three in NY. They could upgrade the coffee though, it was definitely tragic.
There is always a line but it moves quickly, in less than 15 mins you will be grabbing your bagel.

Walked in to a huge crowd, but the line moved really quickly. The ordering counter all the way in the back, and the people crowded around the front are waiting on their orders. The bagels were HUGE are delicious. We had the bacon, egg and cheese on plain bagel, and smoked salmon with capers and cream cheese on garlic everything. They were so big, only half a sandwich was like a whole sandwich from anywhere else. Also got a dozen bagels to bring home and they sliced each one and packaged them by flavor for my flight home.

Popped in here for breakfast - quite overwhelmed at first with the choices available - we had a bacon bagel and one with cream cheese with a coffee each too. Reasonable price and delicious. Set us up for the day - don't let the long queue put you off as it is well organised, goes down quickly and it gives you time to choose what you want.

Very popular Bagel 🥯 house , all freshly baked with so many flavors that will send your head in a spin.
We loved our breakfast bagels and BLT my only issue is i ordered a cappuccino, smelt good but it was a sugar hit overload .
Far too sweet to the point it was undrinkable.
But the Bagels were the heros , when we went people were queuing 1st thing in the morning.

They have pork roll - ugh I mean Taylor ham. There is no indoor dining, but there were 3 tables outside, which was perfect because Wednesday was a beautiful day to sit outside. The service was friendly and efficient. I accidentally just ordered a pork roll and cheese sandwich on an everything bagel and the person taking the order smartly asked if I wanted that with an egg also. The sandwich was quickly prepared. The bagel itself was outstanding. Great late morning breakfast experience.

These are awesome bagels (although I prefer Liberty Bagels across the street) but the experience of obtaining said bagel was a downer. Placing the order and paying was fast enough but I waited at least 15 minutes for my order (which was a plain bagel not toasted - nothing). The place was mobbed, it was about 10:30am. When I ordered I asked what was hot and he said everything but by the time I got my bagel it was not hot and had already started getting that "not fresh out of the oven" feel. But I still give this place 5 stars because the bagels are huge and they have the right texture - oh and they taste good too.

With so many bagel places to choose from, as a whitefish lover I would not choose Best Bagel again. Their whitefish was more mayo than fish. Their ordering system and service however were stellar! Venture a bit away from Times Square for more authentic experience.

Man there were a lot of people here. We were meeting a friend so we fought for a seat and just barely got one. The mob of people waiting for their food was pretty intense but it tasted good and we can say we had a New York City bagel!

Nice spot for a freshly made bagel with numerous options for customization. The breakfast sandwich was hot and enough food that there was no need to grab lunch while hanging out in the NYC Times Square area. The line is long but the staff is expeditious on moving patrons along. There is very limited seating so plan on taking to go.

I was staying at a nearby hotel in NYC for the weekend and on Sunday morning decided to have an egg & cheese bagel sandwich from Best Bagel & Coffee. It was the best $5.20 I've spent in a long time. Simple, hearty and piping hot sandwich. Coffee was good too and hot, and they added just the right amount of skim milk as I asked (a couple of drops).
Really good with fast & courteous services and delicious food.

This is a proper New Yorkers' eating place. The food is good, served fast and the portions are huge.
It is really busy in here at breakfast and lunch but the service is really fast so don't be put off. Skip past everyone waiting around at the door to collect their food and join the queue towards the back to order. Then pay at the tills and it'll be only a few mins before your bagels are ready.
The choice of bagel breads and filling options are endless.The salmon and cream cheese or breakfast eggs and bacon were both good.

When you are looking for an authentic bagel joint in the City, look no further! The line goes out the door and the seating inside is completely disjointed but you can get to know your neighbors pretty well. We had THE BEST smoked salmon bagel! I believe the lox was house smoked and the flavor, freshness and the temperature of the lox added to the overall taste. They know how to shave an onion and tomato for the top of the lox and the cream cheese was PERFECTLY distributed with each and every bite. I chose an Everything Bagel, lightly toasted and even with that, the taste and the texture of the bagel was everything that one looks for in a true bagel. It's all about the water! The portion is well worth the value ... a couple can easily split this tasty treat!

The reason I went to Best Bagel and Coffee was because I had read several reviews about it having “the best gluten free bagels” in all of New York City. As an East Coaster who is allergic to gluten, bagels are something I miss very much. I ordered a BEC on a plain gluten free bagel. When I tried the bagel I was a little bit disappointed because I had expected a life changing gf experience. However, the gluten free bagel was average. It’ll do the trick if you’re in dire need of a gluten free bagel, but it doesn’t compare to the real deal. It’s important to note that my friends who are not allergic to gluten absolutely loved their regular bagels and the entire place was packed.

Without a shadow of a doubt, this place was one of the best places to have breakfast in NYC. The sizes of the bagels completely fill you up. I would highly recommend the turkey club melt. It is to die for! The coffee is also amazing. Gives you a boost for the whole day. Although you might have to hang around for a table, it’s worth the wait! Only thing I could recommend to this establishment would be the option for a Nutella bagel - since they have the option for peanut butter, having Nutella also wouldn’t be a bad call!

I've definitely tried my share of bagels in the city and this place really does the job well. The bagels are perfectly soft with the nice firmer outside and airy so as to not be overly dense. I had a sesame bagel with lox, capers and onions (a standard I go for to compare bagels). The bagel was so perfect and there was also a large amount of lox. In terms of lox, I've had better (Russ and Daughters for the Gravilox but not the bagel). But that's not to say this lox was not good. For the price, it's the best value overall for bagel to lox quality. This place will now become my staple!!!
