What a fabulous experience and meal, just a short walk from our hotel. The relatively small restaurant was bustling and serving up not only delicious food, but great service. Make a point to try the Red onion gelato salad with grilled shrimp. I followed that with a delicious pasta and my husband had the cioppino along with a reasonably priced (for New York) bottle of wine. We topped off our meal by sharing the pistachio Tiramisu. We hope to return as there were several other items on the menu to try.

Truly a gem. Wether you are in town for vacation or business, this place is a must. Food is just simply delicious, classics with a special touch that makes each dish standout. Quality food, amazing service and ambiance without an ounce of pretentiousness. You must dry insalate Gelato, lamb chops cooked to perfection, sea bass - delicious. But above all, absolute must is pistachio tiramisu dessert : airy, light, with just the right amount of delicate sweetness.
Every member of the staff is making you feel cared for and welcome. Host and , I believe, co -owner Antino ( i was told he makes pistachio dessert) is very kind, witty and welcoming.
Truly a gem in NY

Second time dining here. The welcome was warm and friendly. The wait staff truly work as a team. It was suggested that we try the Insalata Gelato and what a great choice as the salad was fresh and full of flavor. Then the dinner entrees were even better. Timing was perfect on delivery of each part of the dinner and never felt rushed as it got busier as the night went along. Will make it a point to visit again next time in NYC.

I didn't have a good experience! I went to the restaurant because I saw all the reviews on Trip Advisor and positive comments, however, I had no luck.
The place is cool, it really looks like an Italian cantina, the service is friendly and I have nothing to complain about, however, my dish was “reheated” and I am absolutely sure of that.
We ordered two dishes, my wife's was great, it was a Bolognese pasta and it was super tasty, however, mine was breaded chicken with pasta and my chicken was cooked, however, it was super “rubbery” and my dish was so hot that I found on it and almost burned my finger, in other words, a sign that it was placed in an oven or probably a microwave.
I was very upset because I had very high expectations for the restaurant, it was a huge disappointment, especially because my dish cost around 34 dollars (more expensive than my wife's).
Anyway! I understand that failures can happen, I know that no one wants an unhappy customer but it happened to me.

Polite and efficient staff but not Italian. They understood and let themselves be understood. The food is decent. Essential place. We found no reason for a return. Two first courses, one second course, a platter of cured meats and two bottles of water 150 euros

Busy in August, this was the restaurant our N.Y. cousin was able to get a reservation for on a week-night. No waiting for our table but close quarters to the table/booth next to us. Their end chair was almost touching the end of our table. The atmosphere was noisy, mostly due to the loud 4some at the bar which was only feet away. Tables in the far end of the restaurant were already filled and with the rain outside, no place to wait for an opening.
Service was spotty. Had to ask for parmesan cheese for pasta and again for Eggplant dish. Bread was mostly breadsticks and hard to sop up any sauce without a nice piece of bread. The bread in the basket was the size of a newborn baby hand!
No choice of linguini or fettucine for pasta. Sauce dry and little tomato, only ground meat. Eggplant was a small order and somewhat oily.
Very different from Los Angeles Italian Restaurants where Pasta dishes are larger, with more choices of pasta and lots of sauce.

Lovely Authentic Italian Restaurant with great food. This was near our hotel so after looking at the good reviews we gave it a try. This was an evening visit and although busy they accommodated us. The seating was good not to close to other people and nice ambience. For main I chose the Spaghetti alle Vongole (Spaghetti with Clams, garlic, parsley in a white wine sauce $ 25. The presentation was very good, cooked just right and tasted delicious. We chose a bottle of the Insolia Pianetto $ 50 which complimented the meal well, but very pricy for a house bottle of red. In the UK a house wine would be half the price. For desert we chose the Cannoli Alla Sicillian $13. Prepared just right and tasted great. The service was very good and attentive.

We ate here this evening after the restaurant was recommended to us and having seen the really good reviews.
The evening didn’t start great as after giving my name for the reservation the phone rang and the waiter just pointed at our table and then ignored us as he talked on the phone so we went and got ourselves seated. We commented to each other how rude he was and with hindsight I wish we had just left.
The menu looked good and things started to pick up and the waiter who took our order was really nice and a lot better than the waiter who ignored us earlier.
Myself and my friends then ordered and I had the caramelised onion ice gelato to start which was absolutely amazing.
What wasn’t good is that after two of us had finished eating (plates still on the table)they brought all the main dishes straight to the table with no pause and no consideration for the fact that my friends wife was still eating her starter.
This really did spoil the evening for us and we just felt we were being rushed and they wanted to get rid of us.
Two of the main courses were good the third which was the flattened chicken was dry and overcooked.
My friend told the waiter who said “no problem “ which really wasn’t the response we had hoped for.
After paying what was a large bill some glasses of lemocillo were brought to the table as an apology but by then the damage had been done.
We left the drinks and the restaurant and we were all really disappointed with the service we received. My friends birthday is tomorrow and I had taken him out with his wife for the occasion.
I felt aggrieved having to leave a tip and that the night had been ruined and we couldn’t wait to leave.
I would recommend the restaurant and I certainly wouldn’t visit again.

Pleasant restaurant near Manhattan, as soon as you enter you breathe calm and silence and after a hectic day walking around New York you need it. Special mention to the service, everyone was very kind and attentive. Nothing to say about the quality of the
Food, the fish is cooked very well and the variety offered on the menu is good. High prices but we are in an exclusive area therefore my average rating inevitably depends on this aspect.

Very pleasant surprise to be able to eat in a high quality Italian restaurant in a city yet so far from Italy. The setting is friendly with very welcoming, smiling, attentive and professional staff. We had a cocktail that was excellent and I ate ravioli with exquisite sauce and al dente cooking as in Italy. The only small downside was the amount of ravioli which, as is often the case with this dish, was inconsistent and left a little hungry which made the dish a little expensive compared to the amount. But overall very good taste experience, I recommend!

This is my first-time leaving feedback and had such a great time here that I felt I needed to put in some unsolicited feedback for Il Punto. We first visited Il Punto about a year ago during a weekend trip in NY and have fell in love with the restaurant ever since. Every dish is quite simply amazing and has that fresh home made from scratch authentic Italian food taste. The Tiramisu and the Onion Ice Cream Shrimp Salad are to die for, highly recommended. The restaurant has that small and inviting atmosphere and waiting staff are super friendly and attentive. We literally drove all the way from DC to eat here for my daughter’s 14th birthday celebration (she specifically requested to eat dinner at this restaurant for her birthday!). The staff at the restaurant made sure we felt right at home and went out of their way to make the celebration special with a free desert and some appetizer sampling. We ended up giving them a hug when we left at the end of the evening.

My wife and I had a 50th anniversary family celebration in New York and dined at Il Punto based on the recommendations of many TA readers. My recommendation is to believe the TA readers and try this fabulous restaurant.
We were a group of 10, including two children, who had traveled from several Mid-Atlantic states. I had contacted the restaurant in advance to confirm several dietary preferences, and Antonio (GM) assured me that they would accommodate us.
Our table was ready when we arrived, the service was excellent and the food was superb. Everyone was raving about the appetizers and their menu choices throughout the weekend. Thanks very much to Antonio and his staff for a wonderful start to our celebratory weekend.

We loved this restaurant with its cozy ambience and wonderful food. It reminded me of places we've been in Italy. We shared the pear and gorgonzola salad. I would highly recommend that!!! My husband got the Il Timballo and I had their special which was butternut squash ravioli with scrimp on top. I savored each bite. Both were excellent!!! The service was perfect. Attentive and friendly. We had a great experience.

This place is phenomenal. A funky exterior leads you to an inviting, cozy, upscale interior. We were greeted by Antonio who was charming, witty, and knowledgeable. He made recommendations that were spot on. We had the arancini appetizer, the red onion gelato salad, spaghetti a la vongele (clams), and a Bronzino special. We were given a complimentary pistachio tiramisu that was light, fluffy, crunchy, and delicious. Everything was wonderful, and every server was attentive and friendly and professional. We will definitely be back.

Hell's Kitchen
Just a few strides from the pulsing beat of Times Square, Hell’s Kitchen has a much more local pulse than its buzzing neighbor. The low-key vibe is part of the appeal, but there’s also a new energy arriving in the neighborhood in the form of modern residential buildings with new retail and food shops. Ninth Avenue is lined with restaurants of all types, from tiny Thai hangouts and Italian trattorias to French bistros and Southern cuisine. Just show up hungry and walk up and down the street, you are bound to find something that looks good. For a more classic taste of the city, grab a bite to eat along Restaurant Row (46th Street between 8th and 9th Avenues) before a Broadway show. The Hudson River provides a break from the city blocks with riverside views, piers for boat tours, and parks perfect for a stroll.
