Where I'm from there's a huge Lebanese community so I've tasted authentic Lebanese food as well as in many restaurants in Beirut. I would say the food here is quite authentic & delicious! The chili humus, batata harra, labneh, and 'pizza' made with feta, tomato, & zaatar were all so tasty and spot on! The ambience is lovely with twinkling... More

We enjoyed our dinner at this restaurant. We often eat Lebanese food at home and this was different than we are used to but still very good. We tried about 8 different hot and cold dishes and enjoyed them. Service was attentive and good.

I can't figure out why this place isn't packed every night with people, this restaurant is a little gem in SF! Why? Well, the food is simply delicious if you like Mediterranean style, service is nice, price very cheap and there's always room to sit! What are you waiting for?

When I travel far away from home, I tend to wander and find gems while walking a new city. Even though San Francisco is familiar to me, there are many neighborhoods I have never been to. So, taking a walking day in the City, I was looking for what I seek in far off lands, a neighborhood gem of a... More

Lebanese restaurant, really enjoyed the food and atmosphere. Has a license as well so the wine was flowing. Nice evening out.

We went back to Mazzat this week after a break and had a fantastic meal, per usual, but we both felt the dishes were even better-the herbs and spices they use are so good. We always order the 3 hot/3 cold platter and always the fatet batinjan, ouzi, and tabouleh for sure. Then we rotate with the labne, stuffed grape... More

We have been coming to this restaurant since it first opened and feel like it keeps getting better and better. It transformed from part deli counter/cafe to full-fledged restaurant with dark wood, mood lighting and music. And the food somehow tastes better and better each time-little nuances or additions in the spices and ingredients-we don't know what but we are... More

This was my second visit to Mazzat. We had tastings of 3 hot dishes and 3 cold dishes. Best way to get a sense of their food. We bought our own wine. Service very friendly, food delicious. One thought when you visit, they do ask for cash as it was preferable but will take credit cards.

Mazzat is a small Lebanese restaurant perfect for a dinner of small plates to share with friends and family. We enjoyed a couple of different eggplant dishes, home made hummus and a variety of vegetarian and meat based dishes. Service was friendly and the Lebanese wines paired well with the food. Pass on the baklava as I don't think that... More

We drove by this small restaurant. It was walking distance from our B&B and we thought we would give it a try. We don't eat meat and were impressed with the number of vegetarian choices. The food was delicious, fresh and well-prepared. The service was friendly and quick. If you like middle-eastern food in an informal setting you won't be... More

Staying in Hayes Valley

Neighborhood Profile
Hayes Valley
Chock full of designer boutiques, art galleries, funky shoe stores, and great restaurants, it’s hard to imagine Hayes Valley once languished in the shadow of a major freeway. Its removal allowed for the creation of an attractive boulevard on Octavia Street with a community park at its center and dozens of trendy businesses to satisfy visitors looking for a stylish respite.
