Fantastic atmosphere and delicious food. The staff were very friendly and nice. We had gyros and moussaka and they were both lovely.

Just a few blocks from the Embarcadero, in the heart of the financial center of town is this corner bar. Somewhat rustic inside, it has a long bar, multiple high tables and high chairs, it projects the image of an old-fashioned neighborhood bar. The clientele,...when we visited, was mostly young students or local office workers. Service was sparse, but there was a modest list of wines by the glass and what you would expect from a full bar. There are bar snacks, which we didn't try. There is background music and the place is moderately loud, with a happy boisterous crowd enjoying their drinks. Prices are modest.More
Great selection of wines, local beers and absinthe! The truffle oil pop corn is the must have nibbles.
Hosted a small, corporate event here in the downstairs area. Downstairs area features a private bar and plenty of casual, lounge style seating. We had our own bartender who was a cocktail master (Matt), our group loved his drinks. Ordered a bunch of different items...from the menu (antipasti, pizzas, lasagna, salads, paninis). Everything was so so good. My favorites include the steak panini, the arugula salad and the lasagna. Really reasonable prices also, only about $50 per head for food and open bar. Upstairs bar seems great also.More
We walked past early evening first day visiting and thought it looked like a nice place to try. We came back an hour later when the places was busy, were lucky to get a small table and a fantastic waitress (Thank you, Larissa!) who helped...us with the choice of tapas, which wine to get and gave us a load of suggestions what to do in SF. Food was delicious, loads of vegetarian options, nicely presented, prices reasonable.More
Visited on a business trip and ordered a coke and a pizza as was on antibiotics. Sat outside with 4 friends and sniffed my friends beer only then to be pounced on by a member of staff saying we had to leave if I took...'another sip'. Then another lady came out and kicked us out because she assumed I was underaged when I never got ID'd. The food was beautiful but will not be returning as staff were rude and jumped to conclusions. I work for a big business and my colleagues visit San Francisco everyday I will tell each and every one of them to stay away from your bar/restaurant.More
Visited for happy hour (2-7pm) on Monday 10th September after walking past it on way back to Hilton Financial District from Embarcadero. Looked good on the outside and was not disappointed on going in. Friendly staff and a great atmosphere with a good quality crowd...all enjoying drinks and a bite. We had a Prosecco and a pint of Stella Artois for $10!!! Served by Felicia, who chatted all evening with us and really made our visit. After a few drinks, we ordered the beef sliders and a fontina pizza. Fresh ingredients and freshly made, food was fantastic. Cannot praise this bar enough and am heading there again tonight (11th September) for more!! If you are in Chinatown/North Beach/Financial District you have just got to visit this place. Enjoy.More
A little pricey, but that is San Francisco: great drinks and quiet later at night but enjoyable atmosphere. The site used to be an opium den back in the 19th-century when this was still the "Barbary Coast". I found this place near the Hilton in...Chinatown a couple of years ago--it was around the corner. This visit, I went back and it is pretty much the same, aside from some adjustments to the cocktail menu (which did not bother me at all--some of the new ones looked just as interesting). Big martinis, friendly service...did not eat there, but their bar menu looks really good--pastured beef sliders, that sort of thing. It was a great place for a night cap after a long day. It closes at 11 early in the week (fine with me) and is open later on weekends; it apparently has quite a busy happy hour because it is in the financial district and is a popular after work place.More
