Lone Star recently did a facelift on their front-facing Marine Corps Drive that attracts attention. Inside service is good, food is good. This a birthday/anniversary favorite for us. My middle son likes the filet, elder son likes the soups. Overall a good time. As steak houses go, it's up there on the price chart, but we've always enjoyed a visit

Disappointing beef

The quality of the beef at as Lone Star has declined. I've been going here for at least 12-15 years. In the early years, the beef was very good quality, but in the past 4-5 years the quality has declined significantly. I usually order sirloin because I want a lean cut. The sirloin now has a significant amount of grizzle, making it tough and chewy. I have gone back to Lone star several times in the last few years hoping they have improved, but I'm disappointed every time. Other than the quality of the beef, it's still got great yeast rolls & sides.

A great steak in Guam

I missed my connecting flight, so I became stranded in Guam for a few days. On my first day, I walking around - I must be the only pedestrian in this auto-crazy town, my walking path took me to the Lone Star steak house. I went in for a rib-eye steak. The steak was cooked to perfection and the service was excellent. If I'd had more time here, I would wander back for another great meal

Had dinner on Thanksgiving since we are on vacation. The place was busy so I understand the hour wait for our food. The thing I can't understand is cold steaks and baked potatoes that weren't hot enough to melt the cheddar cheese. I think the sour cream drop just fell off the spoon when passing over the dishes. So after $110.00 meal for 2 people, we both had stomach problems the rest of the night. Either from the cold food or combo of that and disappointment from #2 restaurant. Must he a lot of staving people.

This last visit reminded me of the reason why I don't patronize this restaurant. As usual, the wait was too long and the food quality fell well below standards... especially the price you're paying. EVERYONE is better off buying their own cut of steak and grilling it themselves. You'll SAVE on the cost and the volume of meat will surely exceed what they serve you at this restaurant. The 'cuts' advertised on the menu is questionable when the final product arrives at your table. Description; Cold, fatty, thin and does not represent the photo's in the menu. In other words; terrible. The service was sporadic where at times family had to flag down wait staff. Was there for a family b-day party but will never go back on a personal level. Sorry, maybe change the name from; 'Lone Star' to 'One Star'.

Good food, atmosphere, and service

Third time there, it's been good each time, especially compared to the horrors of eating at most other places on island. Every place has room for improvement, here's some desired improvements: 1. Waitstaff could be a little more attentive, and try to anticipate needs, but they are better than most other places. 2. Since the covid-19, the menu is a challenge. Not everyone has a phone that works with their desired system and the limited printed menus don't even have the kids menu options. Improve menu, please. 3. All 3 times, the cook goofed on the cooking of meat. He only knows how to do rare or raw with slight searing. We just go ahead and eat it because we've had bad experiences sending food back. But someone should teach the cook that medium well and well done meats are not still bleeding. Little or no pink! Not red! 4. The price is WAY too high for the food served. It's good food, and the portions are generous, but they aren't that good or generous. Come on, it's not even fine dining. 5. We love country music, but not when it's played loudly while we are trying to eat and talk. It's hard to order or even think, it's like being in a club. Turn it down, a lot! And, play more oldies and some slower songs. All we've heard, so far, are hard country rock, that barely pass as country. Slow it down! Turn it down! Set the mood for dining. 6. Either go back to plastic straws or get stainless steel or other reusable straws. Paper straws are terrible. We try to remember which restaurants pull that stupid stunt and bring our own, but sometimes we forget. 7. There seems to be a challenge keeping some of the items stocked that are on the menu. We would encourage the management to think ahead. It's good for business. Constantly running out of the same foods, like fried mushrooms, is just plain silly. Some of the food is very good. The appetizers are awesome! Every one of them should be tried, repeatedly... if you can afford it. The burgers really are a good burger with good options. The steaks and other main course meats are very good cuts, even if the cook doesn't know how to cook them. Very tender, but still over priced. I would recommend this place to families with children, a very rare recommendation on island. However, you may have to request that they lower the volume, it depends on how deaf your family already is. At least they don't play the vulgar hiphop rap crap that the others play.

Steak was juicy and nice.. also fried onion was very yummy! I recommend you to reserve a table and make your that you arrive if you don’t want to wait another 30 mins, i waited like 40 mins even though i reserved table and checked my reservation. Their food was nice but they need to improve service.

We could not cut through our steaks and our baked sweet potato was actually one sweet potato cut in half, so we each only got a half of a sweet potato all for an outrageous price.

Food is not bad, fine. but service (in particular the staff at the entrance) are really terrible. I made a reservation at 19:30, but the table was actually ready through at 20:00.Of course, they never apologize for it. They brings Japanese menu for us but the number of the dishes on it is extremely smaller than the original English menu. So I needed to asked them to bring original menu and it takes long time, again. We ordered Caesar salad, Fired Calamari, Delmonico（that is, rib eye）then, The terrible staff and kitchen brought the Rib eye BEFORE THE SALAD. hahaha. (steak came First, Unbelievably）Even though I told them in advance, not to bring food at the same time, because we would share all of dishes. As I wrote at the beginning, Food is not bad. Just ordinary steak, fried, salad. you can eat at fridays / outback too. I heard later that they offer a pick-up service to the major hotel. So here is full of tourists（almost Japanese）and somehow, they make light of tourist. It is not worth going to here. There are a lots of good restaurant in guam.

Ordered the 3/4 lb prime rib and it was good...for $29.95. The fresh baked rolls are also good. I could only eat half the plate...and took the rest back to the hotel with me.

I went there twice,. my first visit was Lunch. it was good. So we went there again at the our last night. we needed to wait to take a table seat, so we took bar seat, which was empty. as soon as we seat, the bartender gave us KOREAN menu and it was different with English menu , some menu is missing. like combo menu. and bartender said, this steak for man, this steak for women. those were very expensive. so I personally had to find English menu. before order, I said " one blue moon tab beer please" but bartender served beer with very big glass. it looks like for 2 people. I asked, what is this. and bartender said "It is cheaper for 2." I feel not good because I ordered " ONE bluemoon beer, not TWO" . When I said, " I ordered only one, he doesn't drink" he said "Okay then" and he changed. the food was good that's why I wend there twice. but I'm not sure next time.

Fair Steak at a Fair Price

I like the atmosphere of the Lone Star. The replicated west always makes a steak taste a little better in my opinion. Having visited the restaurant on several occasions I can vouch for their consistency. They are consistently good. I eat steak... their steaks aren't fantastic, but they are good. The prices aren't too hard on the wallet and are fairly priced for what you get. The restaurant can get a little crowded, but that is a testament to their food. While my party has waited for about five to fifteen minutes to be seated on a couple of occasions, we've never been turned away. Would certainly eat there again.

A popular Steakhouse in Guam

My cousin and I decided that we want a burger, steaks and the fried onion (tumbleweed) from Lone Star on the evening of Jan 28th 2019. It was not a weekend and we were surprised that the restaurant was full so we had to wait for a table alongside with many Koreans who were also waiting to be served. It took about 30 minutes of waiting and we thought that this is not even the weekend, there are many other choices for having dinners but people still opted to wait at Lone Star. Being a steakhouse, they serve steak of course, burgers, and American food you can imagine smothered with sauce of your choice. The serving was big that you can actually share it. That night I tried their Pasta Milano with shrimps which was good and of course we ordered the tumble weed which is what I was craving for that night. The tumbleweed is an onion sliced to open like a flower once fried. It is dipped in a batter before frying and comes with mayo sauce. With that huge serving, we had to take it out as it was impossible to finish it off by ourselves. Lone star has good service and good price for their food. People do come there to order variety of food from their menu and they also offer good number of drinks including alchoholic breverage if you are tired of the usual iced tea. Perhaps the waiting was the not fun part of it but again, people like to eat those servings while chatting so it is understandable. I do recommend this as an alternative to other steak houses. Their food is great that it justifies the price.

FAVORITE STEAKHOUSE IN GUAM

We were visiting Guam Family in Nov-Dec 2018. We ate here 4 times in the short time we were home. All I can say is this quickly became my favorite spot, on the island. Steaks are cooked to perfection. Service is so awesome. There’s only one other steakhouse that I love this much and it’s off island, so my review doesn’t get any better than this. Taylor, Trey and Debbie were my Host/Hostess. All get 100% A+ rating from me. Guam is the place. Lonestar is a great place to eat lunch and dinner.
