Don’t mind eating in an old bowling alley that’ll bring you back to the 80’s? If so, you’ll definitely be in for a treat with delicious Hawaiian comfort food dished out by The Alley Restaurant located inside this joint. I think they serve the tastiest chicken here out of all I’ve had on the island. They call it Tasty Chicken on the menu so that’ll be easy to spot. It’s oozing with flavor and an order is hefty with about 5 pieces. You can choose to order it by itself or as a plate with your choice of two sides for a little up charge. Rice and macaroni salad for me. What they’re really known for here though is their Oxtail Soup which was the main reason for our visit. We’ve heard from our local friends about it and we don’t regret listening to them. A serving can feed two but it’s hard to share when it’s too darn good. It was one unforgettable meal in a weird kind of nostalgic setting, and the food just hit home for me. P.S. Save room for dessert. Their Lemon Crunch Cake was a big hit in our party though I heard post-dining that their Chocolate Layer Cake is not to be missed.

If I hadn't seen Diners, Drive-ins, and Dives many years ago when they reviewed The Alley, I wouldn't have known about the spectacular food at this place. So good I drive from one side of the island to the other to eat here! The Korean-style "Tasty Chicken" is no doubt the tastiest fried chicken I've ever eaten. The quality of the Kalbi short ribs is off the charts. And the furikake ahi! Just amazing. Pumpkin crunch cake for dessert! I send people here all the time, and not one has ever had a negative review. It is THE BEST! Don't miss it!

Stopped for cake to celebrate two birthdays. There was a wait to be seated do we went to the to go checkout and picked out cakes to go. We went with two slices of the chocolate cake which was highly recommended, one slice of the lemon crunch cake and a lemon bar. The chocolate cake was as good as I had been told - not overly rich but nicely chocolate flavored with the perfect layer of chocolate frosting on top. The slice is very large for $10 so I will have part of it for another sitting. The lemon crunch was also recommended and was a favorite of my husband’s with the frosting and butterfinger sprinkles on the perfectly lemon flavored cake. The slice was half the layers of the chocolate cake and cost around $7. We all enjoyed our cake and had portions left over for another time because the servings were extremely generous.

I gave a one star on yelp years ago and I have dined in about a couple times a year, but today I thought I would revisit that perfect 300 pizza that I did not care for the last time I ordered it ( at least 10 years ago.). I live by myself now so I order a lot of take out. Tonite it was about 6:20 that I called and ordered a medium pizza and was told that it would be 30-40 minutes , so they replied that 7:00 would be a good time to get there. I got the at 6:50 and why the time I got to the front of the line it was after 7:00. They told me that the pizza would be 5 more minutes. OK, I step to the side until a female employee came to me and said that she took my order and the kitchen did not get it so they did not start on it yet. I felt so disrespected so I cancelled. The last thing a neighborhood restaurant wants to do is disrespect their customers. My general opinion is that although their food is decent it is not worth the price or the wait times.

We decided to take out of town guests to Aiea Bowl on a Monday evening to avoid weekend crowds. There were parking spots available so that's always a good sign. Despite it being half empty, they said a wait time of 20 minutes. However, we waited about 30 minutes. Host was extemely rude and unprofessional when I asked how much longer. Looking around the restaurant, people were still waiting for their food. Carpet is disgusting. Trash bin behind dessert counter

We ordered the Kalbi beef, the oxtail soup, calamari and beverages. Totally recommend. Food with plenty of flavor!! The portions are large too. The dining restaurant is inside the bowling alley and they have a takeout window as well. We ate an early lunch (around 11:30 on Wednesday) prior to our Pearl Harbor visit. We were able to get seated in less than 20 minutes.

We stopped here after picking up an item at Best Buy. We ordered food from the take out window, so I can’t comment on the interior. We ordered Kalbi Beef and Chicken combo, Oxtail Soup, Garlic Fries and Carrot Cake. The portions are huge, so be prepared to share or have leftovers. I didn’t much care for the Mac salad as it just tasted like warm mayo to me. The Kalbi Beef was good, my husband loved the oxtail soup and the garlic fries had so much garlic my eyes were burning in the drive back to our condo. I would recommend eating the fries while there hot. My son said the carrot cake was really good.

We are from California and are in search of good restaurants in the area. We’ve heard good things about this place so one day we went to try it for lunch. Ordered their Ox tail soup and Beef Kalbi, which was highly recommended. We were disappointed. There was nothing much about the Ox Tail soup, the broth was overpowering with the taste of star anis and ginger. The beef kalbi was overcooked and tough. It will stop us from coming back.

Amazing food all the way around. Service is top notch as well. Over our multiple visits we ate the Oxtail Soup, Kalbi Beef, Tasty Chicken, Pork Chops, and one of their Pizzas (the 300). All were excellent and servings were huge. We recommended this restaurant to several people we met on our travels and are always amused when you tell them to go to the Aiea Bowling alley and eat! If they don't go, they really don't know what they are missing.

This place is popular. It is a bowling alley, so don’t get fancy ideas. Most people come for the desserts. They were my least favorite part of the meal (I think too much hype made it hard for the lemon crumble cake to live up to expectations). The food is good. Greasy, unhealthy, but also tasty and good. I ate here once and enjoyed the meal. But man did I crave a salad and fruit after to balance all the grease. It is worth a try

Went here because it was on Triple D. 2 of us had the ox tail soup. It was a large bowl of soup with rice on the side. The broth was tasty. Came with cilantro, which you could add or not. We also had the Alley cheeseburger which was also very good. I had the Mahi Mahi sandwich, which was probably the best I ever had. My wife had the fried chicken sandwich, which fell a bit short. It was tough to cut and all curled up.

Had to wait for table at theAlley at Aiea Bowl. That usually means it’s good and it was. The food was good and prices were reasonable. Service was friendly and good. Oxtail soup was plentiful and very good. Cake is a must.

I'm from Aiea, moved to Georgia USA in 70's. There were 6 of us. I took family to Aiea where I was born and raised, showed them the high school. Planned to take them to Aiea Chop Suey, but my son wanted to see the alley (he bowls in GA). We were hungry and looked at Alley Restaurant menu. Decided to order there and glad we did!! Son and family loved everything, especially the Tasty Chicken. We went back a 2nd time before leaving for Georgia. All different dishes ordered were delicious. The family still talks about the great food and tells everyone going to Oahu! I had to hit last visit date above. ALOHA from Atlanta, GA

We traveled from Chicago and landed around noon. Could not check in until 4pm so found this place. Had to wait about 30 minutes. Well worth it. The food was amazing. Had the spicy shrimp and husband had Ox Tail soup. Both were great. Price is reasonable and I want to go back and order other things.

Delicious and the service was excellent. Fried chicken was fantastic and the family next to us all had oxtail soup and said it was so good. Trying that next time! Get there early at lunch for a table!
