Oh so very good!

Best fish tacos and poke anywhere. Stopped in for lunch on a rainy Monday, and wound up chatting with the fellow cooking ahi on the grill under the umbrella in the rain. Learned a few things about how he cooks fish as he was cooking ours and warming up the corn tortillas. Anyway, however he cooks it is exactly the right way for fish tacos, and the spicy poke was the best. Stop early as they only stay open as long as the supply of fresh fish lasts.

This spot is a gem!

This spot is a gem! We came with a friend who lives here and she said they had the best fish tacos she’s ever had—now after two different lunch experiences I can wholeheartedly agree. The fish is caught and brought here, never frozen, grilled on an outdoor grill. Poke is absolutely delicious, try it original flavor or spicy. Will return any time we visit Maui!

Can’t go wrong with this place

Stopped here as part of my “poke every day in Maui” tour & was not disappointed. Had the traditional poke bowl & my boyfriend had the unagi fish tacos. Both were delicious (although next time I’d go with the slightly spicy poke) & the guy taking our order was super nice which is always a bonus. Would definitely stop here again.

Recommended to us by a local and man was she right. On the morning of our visit, ahi was being used for the fish plates and tacos and both ahi and blue marlin were available as filets to take home. We had the tacos and they were just perfect. Local corn tortillas warm with grill marks, topped with fresh pineapple coconut milk slaw and generous portions of ahi that were served as a large piece; I opted to fork shred mine for easier consumption. So, so good. You should go here for sure.

Great Tacos and a Surprise

We had just landed and were waiting to get into our condo. Our first choice, threes bar and grill was not open so we got lucky and found Maui Fish Co. we ordered the fish tacos and the gentleman taking our order said we had to try the smoked marlin Mac and cheese. We took him up and the suggestion and were given a flavorful treat. The tacos were very very good, but the marlin Mac was amazing. We can’t wait to go back with a few bring your own beers ( they don’t sell beer) and enjoy the great food with some cold suds.

Not worth the hype

Over rated. Fish was OK but served with cold sushi rice, mass produced Costco style Cole slaw and store bought tartare sauce. Very Bland presentation and unsatisfactory dinner

Wow, it’s very unfortunate you were so disappointed and didn’t let us know. We’re always more than happy to make things right. Our chefs come in before 8am to prep everything fresh daily - this includes cutting fish fresh from the boat off the shores of Maui, to dicing pickles for our tartar and chopping cabbage for house made pineapple coconut slaw.

My husband posted a request for info on Reddit on getting a particular kind of fish while visiting Kihei. The owner of SMFC responded to let us know that the fish we were looking for wasn't really available at this time but come visit. We did. I was prepared to get some tasty fish tacos, but ended up choosing the ahi belly poke bowl, a mix of regular and spicy and the husband got the fish plate. It sounded to good to pass up, so we also got a small serving of the smoked marlin mac salad. That ahi belly poke absolutely melted in my mouth, it was so tender and delicious! The smoked marlin mac salad was pretty outstanding and my husband loved his fish plate. We mentioned to the guy at the window how we ended up there and the owner poked his head to the window to confirm we were the ones who had posted on Reddit and give us a big smile and thank you for coming by. It's a little food truck located in the center of a tiny strip mall of sorts. There is no alcohol sold there and there are about 3 tables, so you may want to plan to eat elsewhere and maybe bring your own beer/adult beverages if you do.

Don’t be deceived…

Don’t be deceived… this place/food truck is fantastic! It sits in the middle of a bunch of little shops and restaurants. There was a line for a reason. We were about 5 deep in line and only took about 20 minutes before we were eating. The fish tacos are so good! We also got a small order of tropical ceviche (which comes with tortilla chips). I have a feeling we will be back this trip. If you are disappointed after eating here, you have bad taste. Check them out!

Fresh Poke’!

Discovered this by accident, but happy we did. Serving fish caught that morning, Jesse and John do a great job in preparing their dishes. We had the sweet onion ahi poke' and grilled marlin in the bento size, which was plenty for us, each dish was prepared to allow the fish to stand out. In the Aloha Open Market opposite the fire station- go!

Must eat!

This. Place. Is. OFF THE HOOK. Now I’m not a fish person, had it once my entire life and hated it. I tried their marlin taco and it was the best thing I’ve tasted in a while! So good I went back the next day and had the Ahi tacos. The fish is so fresh, it changes based on what he catches that morning, the people are so nice and the candied coconut was great….. I may have bought 3 bags. Get there quick because when they’re out THEYRE OUT. Overall a bangin tucked away little gem

Best fish we had on trip

We stopped in here day one to Maui and were super impressed by the fish tacos and spicy poke. The poke was incredibly soft and spicy. The fish tacos were the best we had all trip with pineapple slaw and a sweet sauce. It was so good we came back for lunch on our last day. The owner is from Tyler so the Texas connection was an added win!

The best grilled Tuna I have ever eaten!

OMG! This place is hands down the best place you will find the freshest catch of the day at a great price. We had grilled tuna on the back of a food truck that was caught less than 12 hrs earlier. It was so good with the secret recipe tartar sauce as well, this place will not open there doors if they don't catch the fish the day before as they never freeze the fish and it tells. The price was about 20$ for a hefty amount of food and others are charging $30 plus for less food and quality.

Dreaming of poke

Easily the best meal of our entire trip to Maui! I got the poke bowl plate, traditional style, which was absolutely massive (easily enough for two meals, if you don’t inhale it all immediately!). The ahi tuna was so fresh and perfectly seasoned, served with rice and pineapple slaw. Although I am not usually a fan of slaw, this slaw is coconut based instead of mayo and perfectly complemented the fish. My family had the fish tacos and fish plate, which I did not get to try but they said were incredible as well. Price range of $15-20 for an entree beats many of the pricey restaurants in the area that are not half as good. This stop is essential on your next trip to Maui!

Friendly service & awesome food!

I went here at the recommendation of a local. First off, the service was excellent! Super friendly and helpful as I ordered lunch items to-go and also some fresh fish to cook for dinner. The food was delicious. We had fish tacos (YUM!), spicy poke (delicious but spicier than most I've eaten), and a poke/rice bowl. Everything was fantastic. GO HERE! You won't find nicer people or fresher seafood.

Delicious. We had the Poke Bento with half spicy and half regular, and the fish tacos. The Poke was melt in your mouth, and the tacos had large pieces of perfectly cooked fish. Flavors all incredible. You will not regret it!!
