We would definitely give 5 stars for the food, however I absolutely agree with other reviewers about the use of the styrofoam and plastic containers. There are better options for food packaging these days. The Korean poke was fresh and delicious, with just enough heat so as not to overpower the delicate ahi. My sister had the Lau Lau and smoked shredded pork combination platter, which she said was fantastic.

This is the best place for Hawaiian Poke, Lau Lau, fish and fried calamari (the best calamari I have eaten ever). The rice, sauces, endamane, other sides and dessert are all fresh and delicious. We bought to-go lunches here 4 days in a row (they were closed for dine-in) during our week stay in Kuhio Shores that is next to Koloa. Prices are very reasonable for excellent food quality and quantity, and credit cards are accepted. There's always a long line but the service was quick and staff were very friendly. The restaurant, building and surroundings are clean, very well-maintained with spacious waiting area. Parking is available on site but require a short wait during peak lunch hour. We tried numerous Hawaiian food places and this was the best experience in Kaua'i.

Fantastic fresh fish in a variety of poke styles. We ended up going back several times to try a variety of their poke preparations. We especially enjoyed the spicy poke and the Korean poke. The portions of fish are huge and the freshest we have had anywhere. I recommend going earlier in the day as selections can dwindle the last hour. There is seating out on their porch if you want to eat there. Check out the board before to figure out which poke, rice, salads and topping you want as they are busy and you don't want to hold up the line.

Very disappointed in the service here. It used to be better in the old location. All We wanted was some fresh fish & had to wait in line behind people ordering food. Then had to wait for our fish behind people getting food orders ahead of us. Either they need more help in the kitchen or a different window for people Who just want fish.

Really? A place pushing local and fresh seafood serves everything on styrofoam and plastic containers. What is all that plastic clogging the Pacific Ocean and littering beaches worldwide? How can you be so insensitive to ocean wildlife. Shame.

I was a little underwhelmed by the poke here. Good flavor but everything was a bit dry. I had ordered the ahi poke and smoked marlin with seaweed salad and edamame. Even the rice was dry. For the topping I should have opted for a sauce but I got furikake to not cover it up with sauce. I noticed someone else had asked for soy sauce on the side which was wise. They do have other sauces that sounded good. We got coconut waters to wash it down. The crispy chicken lunch plate was pretty good if you're not feeling poke, but I felt this place was overrated overall. You order your food from a window and pick it up from another window. The employees were indifferent and not really friendly. I've had better poke elsewhere.

Had the best poke on my trip, at this small family run place. The building is new and not trying to trick you with frills, just the best Poke bowls on the islands. The variety and quality was incredible. Had to come back a second time on my way to the Airport, but couldn't figure out a way to get the restaurant to fit in my suitcase. If you want to get a great lunch, and value, stop by here, Would highly recommend it.

If you want fresh fish go here about noon. The lady will tell you want her fisherman is bringing in and what time. Lady told my wife how to cook it in a pan and gave her a butter and capers mix to cook it in. As we were eating it my wife said...this guy as swimming less than 8 hours ago...FRESH! The only reason I didn't give them a 5 was that there ere some bones left in. We had Mongchong about $25/pound This is also a restaurant but no dining inside no...all to go.

We had a kitchen in the place we stayed and on multiple nights were ready in line at the Koloa Fish Market to get fresh fish for dinner. Beyond the fresh fish is great Ahi Poke and some lunch options that were outstanding. This is a must if you are staying near the Koloa town.

The Poke here is excellent. They are fantastic and fresh. If you used to Poke that's heavily seasoned, this may not be what you are looking for. The Poke here is very well seasoned, in my opinion as a Sushi and Poke lover. It is NOT overly salty or drowned in sauces. You can still taste the freshness of the fish and the ingredient. My favorite is the Maui Onion and seaweed Poke. You can customize your order to your liking, such as light on sauce/toppings etc... With that said, you'd better be ready to shout the order quickly and know what you want. Unfortunately, the picture you see on some of the websites are pre-pandemic. We were there August 2022 and you still have to order through the window and are not able to see the prepared food. Our experience was tainted by a rude person who was taking orders. She yelled at me that she couldn't hear my order and her tone of voice was very rude and impatient. It was our first time there for crying out loud. Well, I guess that's the price we paid for wanting fresh Poke. Price is not cheap but nothing else on the Island is. Paying with a credit card add 3.7%. Poke orders are pretty quick but if you ordered other items such as a lunch plate, you'll be waiting a while. It can get pretty busy but their process is well organized as long as you know what you want, so I suggest familiarizing yourself with the menu before approaching. We went there twice and had a better experience the second time. (Not the same rude girl was taking the order, phew!!!)

We stopped at 4:15 pm on the way back from Waimea Canyon trip. Staff was friendly and helpful. We ordered grilled Ahi and Korean Chicken and another Katsu Chicken and grilled Mahi. The only drawback was the sytrofoam containers need to replaced with compostable paper. The food and portions are good. You can't eat Hawaiian plates better on the South Side of Kauai.

Excellent poke bowls, very fresh and delicious. Kids enjoyed the fried chicken- basically chicken tenders with rice and a small salad. When it is busy, can take 20 minutes for your food. We went back a second time and phone our order in advance and it was ready when we got there. No tables or place to eat. Small parking lot, we were able to park both days but I could see busy times may be more challenging to find parking. Very quality food!

WOW. I read reviews about this place but was absolutely blown away by the fresh quality of the fish. I got a small poke bowl with ahi, and it was incredible. The store was closed due to COVID-19, but we ordered takeout meals from the outside window. The service was friendly despite how busy it was and there was parking available right next to the shop. We will absolutely come back for the best poke on the island!!!

Let me start by saying, the fish(opah)I cooked up great and the caper butter sauce worked great with it. Why not five stars, you can’t go inside the rather big store and look at the fish nor were the price per pound posted outside. After asking to actually see the fish, pieces were shown to me at the screened window. I don’t buy fish like that and they seemed rather annoyed with me. It made be very uncomfortable and I have no idea if I was overcharged. Funny before COVID and the very small old location, everyone was crowed inside. I hope this policy changes.

If you've never been there, visit their website, look at the menu, and make choices first. Even better, order your meal by telephone to shorten the wait. The place is popular with the locals. The fish is fresh, the sides, tasty, and the quantity more than we could eat at one sitting (the two of us ordered a single large bowl).
