Palate is located in the quaint north shore town of Kilauea, Kauai. Our mission is to provide a unique wine tasting experience for our guests. We believe nothing beats the simplicity and brilliance of a good wine paired with the perfect cheese and cured meat. We take pride in selecting wines from small, esoteric wineries from around the world and strive to create the ultimate food and wine pairing. Enjoy a variety of flavors in an unpretentious, casual environment with a professional and knowledge serving staff. Featuring a rotating wine list, we offer wines by the glass and tasting options. Our cheeses and cured meats are carefully selected to pair well with our wines and are served on marble, slate and wood cutting boards. We also serve house-made baguettes, olives, jams, and dijon mustard to ensure a memorable experience.

What a lovely restaurant! We enjoyed it so much that we ate most of our meals there during our 10 day stay. The menu is fabulous and the owners and staff are very pleasant and helpful. The food is fantastic. We tried many different items and all were perfect. A lot of thought and effort are put into their menu items. We can't wait to return!

We rented a home on Kaua’i, not knowing what COVID would look like, preserving the option to cook our own meals. Once we got here and the threat had diminished, we were happy to be able to snag a reservation at this delightful “hole in the wall” establishment.
The wine list was creative and had a number of reasonably-priced blends, one of which fit our palates well. We shared their special flatbread and a quinoa salad, which was plenty enough food that I’m about to reheat some of the flatbread now two days later, knowing it will still be very tasty. The salad was ample for sharing, and excellently seasoned without an excess of dressing. The service was friendly and made us into cheerleaders for this place.
Try it - you won’t be disappointed.

Delicious flatbread pizzas and salads! Had dinner here for my birthday while on vacation in Princeville. Nice selection of wine - we had a bottle of Sparkling Rose and a bottle of Chianti. The salads were large, the 4 of us split 2 salads, the Greek Salad my husband & I shared was delicious. We really enjoyed the BBQ Chicken Flatbread and the Macadamia Nut Pesto Flatbread. The staff was very friendly, the place was cute and very clean.

This is my favorite restaurant in Kilauea! It’s intimate, charming and delicious. This is the place we bring our good friends and also celebrate special occasions. The food is excellent. And we are vegan and gluten-free so it’s nice to have healthyoptions for us while our friends can indulge in what they enjoy as well. You can’t beat the atmosphere and the service is excellent. And wow, the wine selection! So happy they opened for lunch too. Must add to your regular rotation!

We went here because rated well on trip advisor. Service was excellent. Food was ok. Had flatbread which was a large thin crust pizza. Salad with shrimp added did not have generous amount of shrimp. Lacks a lot in atmosphere.

If you are in Kapa'a or Princevile, we highly recommend you visit this little town and fantastic restaurant. The menu is quite limited, with 1 or 2 soups, several salads, a long list of flatbreads (we call them pizzas) and a few specials. We thought the soups were wonderful, the salads great, and the Pepperoni Pizza was the best we've ever had. Oh, and they have lots of wine by the glass or bottle.

We've been here a few times now on our visits to Kauai, and this is one of my favorite north shore restaurants. The flatbreads are great, the wine is excellent, the restaurant is clean and comfortable, and the service is always excellent. It's also a big plus to be able to make a reservation.

In an area with limited options, this small package is a find. Unfortunately they are still limited to 50% capacity but are making it work. The soup was sooo good and I am now obsessed with trying to figure out the ingredients so I can attempt to recreate the flavor. Salad was super fresh. And, we really enjoyed the macadamia pesto flatbread. While the wine selection is limited, it has enough variety to be interesting. Django, our server/host was helpful and friendly. We need to make sure we keep these little independent gems that have weathered the covid storm alive.

This wine bar is so cute and intimate. Kauai in general isn’t really known for its food but this was one place that we found to be an exception! We stumbled upon this restaurant as we were walking around and didn’t really expect much since the food we had at other top rated restaurants was mediocre at best. I had the kale salad and my boyfriend had a flatbread to go along with our wines, and what a surprise! So tasty!
The ambiance is adorable/romantic and the service was incredible as well.
Definitely come here for some tasty food and great vibes.

So, this was a fantastic find!! My wife and I were looking for a unique spot to dine for dinner, and we spotted this tiny gem in Kauai. The staff is amazing, and the food is next level, we highly recommend this restaurant.

Very interesting and appealing combinations of foods created a delectable meal. Seats 20+/-. Service was exceptionally great. Wished we had time to return there again. Highly recommend experiencing an evening out in a smaller venue off the main highway and sits off the end of a small, quaint shopping mall. Even the shopping mall was enjoyable to browse through and buy. Some unusual items there.

After reading glowing reviews and a friend's recommendation, we made dinner reservations at Palate. We absolutely loved their Moroccan Carrot Ginger Soup and their salad of the day. Excellent items! We were not as enthused about their flatbread or the lobster entree. Service was good, but they only had one guy preparing meals for the entire restaurant. We would definitely come back for soup and salad but would try different entrees.

I chose this restaurant because it's rare to find a place with only 5-star reviews, and it didn't disappoint. Dinner tonight was excellent. It's a small place. Set up for one or two couple groups. I don't think I'd bring a family here. I had the pasta of the day, which was mac nut pesto and sundried tomato with linguini. My husband had the BBQ chicken pizza. We shared the dishes and liked them both very much. They had happy hour from 5-6, but we are not wine drinkers, so we can't speak to that aspect of the restaurant.

What an incredible local place to find in Kauai North Shore. Get a wine flight, a flatbread, any salad, and a daily special and have fun. They only have a few tables, so make a reservation, but do not leave the island without a stop here.

While the food and wine were fine and the service pleasant, temper your expectations. The spot (in a strip mall) is for some reason trying to be something it's not -- or at least, not yet.
Examples: Short wine list (for a wine bar); posted 'dress code' (which most of the patrons ignored, with no issues); threatened $50 no show fee.
That said - the flatbread, salad and wine were fine. Service friendly. No issues. Just not five stars.
