Le Coulee Cheese Castle is a very small store with big atmosphere. Nick has to be one of the most soft-spoken, gentle business owners that one will ever have the pleasure of meeting. He stocks his store with plenty of cheese and sausage varieties plus oh, so many fun and meaningful gifts of all kinds. Of course, the ice cream cones are always the draw for the price that Nick charges! It's not unusual to see lines of kids (and adults, too) waiting to get their sweet treat. This is a place that everyone needs to visit at least once - but, like the potato chip ad .... bet you can't just go once!

Large Wisconsin cheese and local meat selections. Many local items such as jelly's, honey, etc. Friendly service and don't forget the ice cream! Be sure to stop here.

I have been here a handful of times, the ice cream is fantastic, and Nick is always very pleasant to talk to. It truly is a hidden gem!

Nice little shop that the wife and kids visit frequently, especially on a hot summer day. Nice selection of ice cream, cheeses and other goodies. Reasonable prices and Nick is awesome and if you need someone to talk to or just to talk he will listen and give advice

This is a great place to stop for an ice cream cone...or dish. Great small town vibe! Nick is the owner and he is always there. The cheese must be good too, but I have never bought any there.

Many varieties of cheese and sausage. The store has many gift ideas with new items added frequently. Fun to brouse the many gift ideas. The best value on ice cream with many flavors to pick from. Also has many candy items for kids. Did I mention the best part of the store? That would be Nick, the owner. He is always there, friendly, and professional. We live in Texas and visit every time we are there. In the winter we order cheese over the phone and have it shipped to us.

Nick offers a great selection of ice cream, cheese, and many other novelties and snacks. He always has a smile on his face and is happy to see you. We've tried a few of the specialty cheeses and they are sooo yummy!! The ice cream is perfect on a hot day! Thanks Nick!

Small shop, but offers a decent selection of cheese. They had ice cream (although I didn't get any) and some pretty good options as far as Wisconsin theme souvenirs with friendly counter staff. It was a nice break in our long drive.

We were looking for a local lunch spot, so we had cheese and ice cream. I had chocolate peanut butter that was loaded with peanut butter, my son had cookie dough and hubs had rum black cherry, which was the best of the 3. They have tons of cheeses and accesories, no tastes though. The cheese is good. We had lime sublime and Wisconsin cheddar- both were good. The merchant was personable and cut our meatand cheeses as we were travelling and didn't have a cheese knife. We took our cheese and had a l9vely picnic in the park. Definately a must see.

Getting ice cream at Nick's is a true highlight for our family camping trip. The ice cream is great! We love Nick and he's unofficially a member of our family now. :-)

Yes, I realize this place mostly sells cheese, but it has ice cream! My husband and I were looking for a snack while riding the La Crosse River State Trails and came upon this place. For $3, we each had a large, single scoop cone, and a single Gatorade. Plus, we had a nice chat with guy tending to the shop. Thanks for being open!
