One of the few places in Milwaukee for Tapas, we had Ceviche Hondureno; Goat Cheese curds, Lamb Bolognese, and Moroccan Braised Goat; topped off with Monastery drinks (Slivovitz, basil honey syrup, and lime juice) brought back fond memories of our travels. Tapas are small plate...entries, recommend 2-3 each; everything was perfectly prepared, staff very friendly and accomodating!More

Three of us came here for lunch on a Friday and sat outside. I was surprised that there weren't many customers that day, perhaps because of its location a bit far from downtown. The server seemed very knowledgeable about the menu and helped us choose....The plates we ordered were Gnocchi d'estate, Pork and Shrimp Tostadas, Argentinian Style Beef, Empanadas Vegetarianas, Moroccan Braised Goat, and Churrasco Pork. The Argentinian Style Beef was tender and flavorful -- one of my favorite dishes that day. Another favorite of mine was Gnocchi d'estate, which is even tastier than some of the meat dishes. I also liked the Moroccan Braised Goat, although it was saltier than I would have liked. The other dishes are also quite good, except that Churrasco Pork was a bit dry and plain. This is the second time I dined at La Merenda. The first time was in the summer of 2021, and I also enjoyed my experience then.More

We were very excited to try this restaurant but overall it was just ok. Nothing stellar in regards to food or drink and our group tried 7 different plates. The patio is lovely though. We won't be back but nice to try new places none...the less.More

We needed a get away and love unique food experiences. My husband had never had tapas and he is already begging for more. This experience was like a trip around the world in a dinner experience. The Jamaican pork was out of this world so...juicy and tender and perfectly spiced.More

Worth the visit. The waitress was nice and the food was good. The Argentinian Style Beef was the best steak I ever had. The duck confit was also tasty but a little salty. the price is reasonable. Will come again.

Although I can't stand the dividing partitions at the bar, the food at La Merenda is fantastic. Sarah took care of us, and her recommendations were right on. The menu covers the world, with dishes representing countries proud of their culinary traditions. We loved the...Pistachio salad, Butter Chicken, the Sambal Goreng Udang, whose coconut milk mashed potatoes were orgasmic. Pricing was more than reasonable. Get rid of those partitions, and I'll be there every week. After living in Seattle, I don't need to be frozen out from humanity any more. Three years were enough. We all need to get closer. Tribalism isn't healthy.More

Tapas style restaurant in the Walkers Point neighborhood of Milwaukee. Restaurant is small, few tables, dress code is casual. They have very nice selection on menu of various options including vegetarian, gluten free, seafood or meat, and nightly specials. Reservation suggested. I would consider it...a foodie restaurant.More

La Merenda offers imaginative, creative, exquisite, and delectable tapas from around the world. It is quite understated and unassuming from the outside, but the food and ambiance are excellent. It’s an ideal place for sharing small-plate tapas with couples and friends. This is a restaurant...that should not be missed when visiting Milwaukee!More

As the name "La Merenda" translates into English into "The Snack", all of the featured dishes are Tapas sized (most adults will enjoy 2 each. The beauty of dining on Tapas is that you'll savor the evening and companionship of dining partner(s)...start with a couple,...and then keep ordering until you're ready for dessert. Unlike most Tapas restaurants (which are usually Spanish...), La Merenda offers noshes from Italy, Japan, Argentina, Mexico, India, Morocco, Thailand, etc...even Wisconsin as well. In addition, they use primarily organic ingredients. We shared the pork and shrimp tostadas, the butter chicken, and the Argentinean style beef...all of which were superb! We will definitely dine here again when we're in Milwaukee next. Enjoy.More

Really terrific food, good attentive service. Quirky menu with choices you won’t find elsewhere. Portion sizes are small by design and flavors are fantastic. My only complaint is minor: beverage choices don’t include any sodas you’re likely familiar with. Tostada with shrimp and pork confit...is simply fantastic.More

Unpretentious and Industrial Exterior hid an amazing restaurant! Drinks were wonderful and reasonably priced (good wine selection too). Then the food........!!!! This is an amazing restaurant with remarkable tastes and creations. Three of us had 5 tapas to share which was fine. Also shared a...dessert. Could have had one more of each but we left pleasantly filled and didn't overspend. Really a hidden gem in Milwaukee, easily the best one we were at for a 4 day visit. HIGHLY recommended!!More

It is not cheap and it is better to go with a group to share tapas. We live in Chicago and coming back soon to try more tapas from all over the world.

Nice bar, the inside dining is a bit dark and plexiglass barriers are still in place for both. Come with a lot of people so you can try as many dishes as possible. Everything is shareable, everything we tried was good. Portions are larger than...I expected and reasonably priced (including the wine selections).More

Wow! Just really good food. We were visiting Milwaukee for the first and probably last time ever for the NCAA basketball tourney and went out of our way to find a good local place that wasn’t a tourist trap. We found it. It was so...good, we tried to get in the next two nights but could not get in because the locals come here on weekends. The arugula pistachio salad was perfect… maybe the best ever. The lamb bolognese was spectacular and original… like little ravioli pastas in a great sauce, My wife raved about the veggie empanadas. Service was great. Atmosphere was just a neighborhood restaurant vibe. Wine list good and priced right. Overall costs were amazingly reasonable… we have dined at some of the finest places in Northern California while spending 5X+ and haven’t had better food.More
