Classic spot and great vibe. Got a Regal Beagle feel in the lounge. Meet the gang and enjoy a few well poured drinks. Full bar. Some people only see the price in the menu, it’s a steakhouse. The nice touches include homemade bread, relish tray, and shareable sides. We had a group of 12 and everyone enjoyed themselves. If your lucky enough, maybe you can meet Zattie.

Top notch traditional Wisconsin supper club: Free valet. Mid-Century decor. Order prior to being seated. Relish tray. Great Brandy Old fashioned drinks. Dined here to celebrate a friend’s birthday and had a wonderful experience. It was very busy when we arrived which is a good sign of a great restaurant. Enjoyed drinks at the bar before being seated. Crystal, our server, did a fantastic job. We noticed there was a great team work / family atmosphere with the staff that made the experience even better. Our food was delicious. I had the prime rib and it was prepared perfectly. The sides were all delicious too: fully loaded mashed potatoes, asparagus, green beans, and crab Mac n cheese. The manager, John, was also very attentive and checked on us often. I would definitely go back. Hint: ask for Crystal as your server if she is available.

First time trying this place. Had an early reservation which gave us choice seats at the bar when we arrived. Promptly served drinks and our very pleasant waiter Josh arrived shortly thereafter. I ordered the prime rib with side of squash; my partner had the special braised beef over mushroom risotto (Josh gave it a well-deserved glowing endorsement) with side of asparagus. Wish I had ordered the braised beef! It was so tender and flavorful along with the mushroom risotto. So much better than the prime rib. I have had way better prime rib at a smaller price from small town bars in the northwoods. This prime was cooked to the right temp but was sitting in a lake of au jus (I nearly splashed myself each time I tried to cut a small piece). Moreover, it was not so flavorful, not as tender or easy to cut and way too chewy. I expected better from this restaurant and at this price point. The squash was much better than the asparagus IMO. We liked the bread but the relish tray of veggies and salad bowl was just basic. The drinks were great and Josh recommended the tiramisu for dessert, which was also great. Overall, solid restaurant and food. Service outstanding.

It was probably my own fault... There were six of us. We gathered at the bar and were told that we should each get our drink and the waitress would stop by to explain the menu. We were seated shortly after that. The table was set with a non-descript green salad and a relish tray with enough items for a couple. The waitress came by to check on drinks and ask which dressings she should bring. She came back and took our orders. Here's where I made my mistake: I didn't order steak. I'm not much of a steak eater but baby back ribs were on the menu, so I ordered those. Two people ordered steak, one ordered pork chops, and two ordered lamb chops. Three of the group were OK with their choices--steak and pork chops. The lamb chops were tough and over sauced. Very little was eaten. The ribs were very spicy; I took them home to rinse the sauce. The service was OK and the bread was very good.

Visited this place for a family member's birthday. Service was less than marginal. The waitress was pushy and not warm. The family members in our group that ordered steak complained about the temperature(cold). The appetizers that I ordered were shrimp scampi and stuffed mushrooms no wow factor whatsoever. My fiance ordered rack of ribs and they were cold as ice. The so called BBQ sauce tasted like it came out of a ketchup bottle. On top of all of their miscues I was overcharged $98.00. I will not be back to this place. If you want a great steak pass this place by and go to Gibsons in Chicago. Of course I will tell my friends, family and associates not to disappoint themselves here.

This was our second visit here (loved it the first time). We returned with another couple, their pick. We purposely arrived about an hour early to enjoy some supper club old fashioned and visit with our friends. After the first round they wanted to seat us early, but we wanted to order a bottle of wine, have a glass and then get seated closer to our reservation time. It's clear that is not how they operate and were pretty much told that our bartender couldn't get us a bottle of wine, we had to have our table waitress do it and off we got seated. I realize they are a very busy place, but we showed up early specifically to have time to visit first. It's not as though we were late for our reservation. I remember our steaks being good the first visit, but this time they were simply OK. To finish off the meal, hubby and I ordered a piece of cheesecake and it was raw inside. Not super impressed after this last visit and no longer on our list. We'd go back again if someone invited us, but not by choice. Too bad, we really loved the old school feel.

I read about supper clubs in WI and this place was one of the top rated. Here is how it broke down. Five stars for character of the place. If the walls could talk, the stories of the people who have dined here would be a best selling novel. Free valet parking was a bonus on a cold winters night. The host and waitress five stars. Perfect at their jobs. The bartender two stars. Grumpy. You sit at the bar and order your dinner. Once your order is in, your waiter guides you to your table. The beloved relish tray and warm fresh bread is waiting for you. We ordered steaks. The $50 ribeye and $25 sirloin. Both medium rare plus. The steaks were one star. Gross. Outside burnt. Inside very rare and by the time they arrived to our table they were luke warm. The mushrooms tasted earthy in a negative way. The only winner was our dog who loved the ribeye bone. The homemade salad dressings were a five. Bathrooms very clean. Would we return? No. Are we glad we experienced five o’clock? Yes.

Have been looking forward to this restaurant for years after hearing great reviews. Went for my birthday on a Tuesday and will not have to ever go here again. It was ok, but: not worth the hassle of waiting for the one parking valet, below average salad we had to serve ourselves, average loaf of bread, unimpressive waitress, very good steaks served on small (why) plates with au jus that splashed onto paper placemats (really?) and onto us, added "oscar style" to steak which meant 4 small asparagus spears and a dollop of canned crab and a TB of bearnaise on top of my steak. yikes.. for $10? I have had better at many MKE area steakhouses. The waitress only stopped to ask if we wanted more drinks, or, to drop things off. She was always in a hurry which was surprising for a Tuesday at 5 pm. She didn't bring our food; other servers did, and also the bottle of wine, although it wasn't busy upstairs where we were seated. The tiramisu had chocolate syrup poured on top :( So now I have finally been to 5 o'clock, unfortunately I won't be back. Eddie Martini's was classier, quieter, and worth the same price. Jake's had delicious Oscar style tenderloin, Carnevor and Chophouse were better all around.

Had a reservation for 4 at 6:30 and were celebrating a bday. When we got there the hostess tried to stick us in a corner in a waiting area, not even in the dining room. We had to wait for almost an hour for a decent table. I’ve felt the food has suffered here for sometime. I had fried shrimp and it was greasy and the batter too heavy. One steak had to be sent back as it wasn’t cooked properly. The waitress was artificially friendly and rushed us through the meal. Wine list is mediocre at best. I’ve been going here for many years but I don’t need to go again. For the prices they charge I can get a much better meal elsewhere.

Excellent service from Dona (dough nah). Best filet mignon I've had in my entire life. My partner loved his rib eye. Great creamed spinach and homemade desserts. (next time we'll order the green beans and mashed potatoes which looked wonderful at the table next to us). Salad was the only disappointment - one cherry tomato, 2 thin slices of cucumber, and few red onion shavings in a bowl of lettuce for 2 people to share. (salads could have been much more creative than that!) Homemade dressings were really good, however, and I wish I had ordered a big bowl of their mushrooms (which accompany all steaks - 5-7 tiny mushrooms on each plate) to take home. Unbelievably yummy. We spent $200 (2 steaks, 2 sides, 2 desserts, 3 drinks) before tip for our dinner. And we didn't order any appetizers, of which there were many tempting choices. Highly recommend. Warning: takes a while for your eyes to adjust to the darkness inside the restaurant!

My wife and I went here on a recent trip to Milwaukee. There were lots of reviews indicating this is a top steakhouse in Milwaukee. The main entrees were solid. Steaks are clearly the specialty but we also tried the ribs which were very good. The salads they bring to the table are served family style but they are clearly pre-made as the bowl comes wrapped in plastic. Lots of great history in the building but the dining area is very loud. While I am not sure we would return I am glad we experienced it.

One of Milwaukee's best. A step back to Milwaukee's supper club era. Steaks are prepared like nowhere else with an infared broiler creating a carmelized outer deliciousness.

Had a reservation and was seated in perhaps the worst part of the restaurant, near a stairwell and the kitchen entrance. The decor was 1950’s and the place has not seen a steam cleaning in over 20 years! Now for the food: we both had steaks which were extremely tough, the salad was prepared probably in the morning and had very little taste, and lastly the relish trays were also prepared. I rarely can’t say anything positive about the meals. Perhaps people in Milwaukee are satisfied with a 2 star steakhouse? I would never recommend this establishment!

My wife and I were in town to see Alabama play Wisconsin. I had heard so many good things about this place we had to try it. It was busy Friday evening but I had made a reservation so we were seated immediately. The place smelled of the steaks on the grill. The decor reminded me of a place set in the fifties or sixties which added to the allure I liked that they serve fresh bread with the meal something that doesn’t seem as popular as it should be. There was butter and honey on the table to accompany the bread. The salad which came with the meal was served family style. They offered several in house made dressings. We opted for the bleu cheese which was delicious. The salad also included a side plate that included pickles, olives, peppers and green onions My bone in ribeye was a generous size and was covered with their tasty au jous. It was tender and cooked as ordered. I ordered a side of fries that would have been enough for 4 people. I saved some of my steak for the next day and ordered a piece of their homemade cheesecake. It was very creamy and was the perfect end to a wonderful meal. I’m not sure when I will make it back to Milwaukee but this place will earn a return visit when I do.

The food (both had prime rib on Friday night) was EXCELLENT!!! The best we've ever had. Only thing was it was so air conditioned in there, the food didn't hold in the heat, got luke-warm real quick. And for whatever reason, they didn't let me take the extra salad home, said it was "raw" and the chef wouldn't allow it??????? What????? Sounds rather "fishy" to me - do they reuse it?
