Had the pork shank and the salmon the first night. It was amazing. Then we came in and had the bbq platter for two. It topped the first night. Beyond amazing. The corn bread is great. Absolutely visit this place.
The wait was long and the hostess was rude. Several tables empty but not cleaned off, when we asked about them she sat us right by the busy front door, we asked the waiter if we could move and he waiter said you get what...you get. The barbecue salmon was gross. Like they poured the whole bottle on top. Waiter told us the macaroni and cheese was Kraft, it was not. Kids hated it. Husband liked his pork chop.More
We stopped in for a mid day snack and drink on a Monday afternoon. Due to 1/2 capacity we did have to wait for a bit, but the hostess was very nice and assisted us with ordering our drink and making sure the table was...cleaned quickly for us as soon as it became available. The bus boy was even nice once he told us it was ready. We ordered a drink while we waited for our table. Once we could sit at a table (in front of the fire, yay!) we were able to order food. The bartender on duty was very nice, friendly and very accommodating and served our drinks very quickly. Over on the bar side, you go up to the bar to order your food and drinks, but we were able to run a tab. We ordered the chili, which was very good and the spiral fries covered in BBQ, cheese, salsa and sour cream. It was missing the sour cream, but the bartender (I wish I knew his name) went to find it on his own. While it read well, it was not very good unfortunately, so I can't recommend this dish, especially at a $14 price tag.
This was not my first time at Foxfire Grille, but our first during the Pandemic. Seemed that the menu was smaller and definitely a different vibe with only 50% capacity.
We stopped in for a quick bite and drink while exploring the village. It definitely checked the box for a drink and hospitality.
The restaurant is very cozy and very pretty and in a great location in the Village. I look forward to trying it again when we got back to Snowshoe (but definitely ordering something else next time)More
We had dinner here on our first night at Snowshow - no reservations - just walked in a were seated fairly quickly. Service was a little slow but not too bad - very polite and attentive, just a little understaffed. The menu descriptions aren't the...best but the food was pretty good. My husband had the steak sandwich and said it was really good. I had the southwestern chicken salad - absolutely no detail on how this actually comes on the menu - but tasted very good, chicken was very well cooked. The most questionable dish was our child's mac and cheese - it looked like it had been sitting out for a while but it tasted good enough. They had a good beer and drink selection. All staff were masked.More
Best service and dining in Snowshoe.
Ron was the best server!! BBQ was on point. Kids meals with good choices. I remember there being a s’mores dessert back in the day. Bring it back!! However the Apple Dumpling was delish. I highly recommend this place.
We love Foxfire as our family dining destination every time we are at Snowshoe. The wings are the best, and the bbq sandwich is a must every time we are there. Great friendly people and a perfect casual lunch spot.
Great dining terrible COVID restrictions. I was trying to get to-go food from the Foxhole restaurant and was directed to the bar by the hostess. After sitting in and open bar seat I was yelled at by the bartender for sitting in a seat that...should be occupied due to COVID restrictions. However if the seat had been removed or had sines stating this I would not have sat there. When I called to complain after receiving nothing but rude service in the restaurant I spoke with Donna (the manager). She stated they are doing the best they can due to COVID. No one was able to accommodate us without a 2+ hour wait. Highly dissatisfied with the level of service on a Snowshoe property. I'm awaiting a call from the director of food and beverage services on Snowshoe properties for an explanation for poorly trained staff and horrible service. Skiing and snowboarding is great. Don't count on the food thoughMore
