So excited they were opening back up! Went for lunch - they're a little over the top for COVID rules so get ready to don your mask each time a server approaches your table, then remove just to eat or drink. Annoying but better safe than sorry. I had the reuben sandwich - it was mediocre at best - the meat was soooo very dry, and the bread a little too burned. Fries were good, though. They added a $5+ service charge to the meal which may or may not have been the tip, weren't sure, so gave them a tip on top of that. Server was professional but not particularly friendly. We've been there a LOT in the past, not sure we'll be back.

We enjoyed 3 meals at Alderbrook. Drinks and appetizers in the lounge on Christmas afternoon, Dinner Christmas evening, and Breakfast the following morning. I will review all of them. Drinks. Absolutely the very best Hot Buttered Rum I have ever had. I wish they were not so decadent, I would have had several. I would drive the 2.5 hours just to have one of those delicious mugs of pure happiness. The Wagu sliders were also very good, and the French fries were over the top. Gourmet Fries. Try the truffle fries. You won't be sorry. Dinner On Christmas Night. I had the grilled Cod in Hollandaise and it was just melt in your mouth lovely. My husband raved over the seasoned butter for the bread. Our dessert was a Chocolate Mint Bombe full of creamy dark and white chocolate decadent mousse. I cannot even print what my husband Tim said about it, but he loved it. Breakfast the next morning. The Crab benedict was just so very good. Homemade English Muffin, light and lemony Hollandaise, eggs poached perfectly and crab. I personally could have had more crab, but who doesn't want more crab on anything right? The servers were all just wonderful, and made our Christmas Holiday that much more special. We are going to try and make this an annual tradition.

Made a long drive to have a special lunch to celebrate New Year's Eve. Got seated at a window table and then saw ketchup sprayed all over the wall/window/floor (looked like the work of a child). Finally got that cleaned up, and looked through the menu. Asked about clams in wine sauce, but they had, "just run out." Next option was Dungeness crab cakes, pricey. too, but we wanted something special. What showed up was 3 tiny, thimble shaped blobs --- no cakes here. If there was crab, it was from a can. It looked and tasted like dry, shredded paper. I should have stayed home, bought a whole Dungeness crab (less than the dish I ordered), and made a proper, tasty meal. Our sandwiches were okay. We've been here over the years and the "fine dining" label certainly wasn't evident with this meal, and we won't return. In talking with the server, she didn't seem to care, and said she would pass along our concerns. VERY disappointing, and not like service, or meals we had experienced in the past.

Wine in the restaurant was a fiasco. We ordered the Malbec. Our waiter wanted to know which one; he said there were 4. I told him there was only one on our menu. He brought another menu that had 2 different Malbecs. He suggested one of those, and then came back about 10 minutes later and said there was some confusion. They didn’t have that one. So we ordered the one on the original menu and he brought that. It was very good. The bread and butter that eventually arrived were very good. Jim ordered the Fish and Chips. The fish was not cooked all the way through, so he told the waiter. It was so bad that he let the waiter take that plate hoping that another order would be better. When the second order arrived, it was also not cooked properly. The batter was raw on half of it because it was not completely covered in the frying oil. At that point Jim asked for the manager. He showed him the under cooked fish. The manager said he would take it off the tab, which he did. He asked how my chicken was, and Told him it was tough, but I did eat most of it. My green beans were also tough as though they were not fresh. It was a miserable anniversary meal, but the wine was good. And that was dinner. We hope we can get a pizza tomorrow night

This was our first dinner out after the gradual lifting of Covid restrictions. They have done a great job of communicating expectations about masks, distancing, and traffic flow entering and exiting the restaurant. Tables were definitely separated. We ate in the bar area and felt like we almost had it to ourselves. We each had crab cakes, a small caesar salad, and glass of wine. All were very good! Our server was very friendly and spent time talking with us...one of the advantages of not as many guests. However, what is nice for us is challenging for the business trying to get by. Their prices are a bit on the high side, but the setting, service, and food make it feel like it's worth it for a nice dinner out.

Our waitress Kristy was excellent! She was delightful and very helpful. Our appetizers of deviled oysters, oysters Rockefeller and clams were superb. My Bees Knees cocktail was beautifully crafted. However, my entree of duck confit was very disappointing. While the duck was cooked to proper doneness, everything on the plate was served lukewarm, as if it had been sitting out for quite some time. Further, the charred pea vines on which the duck breast was served were quite tough and tasted a bit like what I imagine hay tastes like. They did not complement the duck at all and in fact, detracted from the meal.

It was a Weekend, in the Winter, but we took a chance that we could find a seat in the lounge at 5:30. We did. It was lively there, and we had a super waitress. We have wine and a martini to drink. For food, we had great clam chowder and a cesar salad that included kale, which was really interesting. We would order both again. We split the fish sandwich, it was good, but the fries were kind of limp. All and all a good experience and we definitely be back.

Restaurant staff were on the whole very friendly and kind. We especially appreciated that given the time we visited. 20% gratuity is added to bill, so tipping is optional, though we did every meal because these folks were working over the holidays.

We met a friend there yesterday for lunch. I was impressed with the Covid precautions. Masks are required for all unless you show a vaccination card. With the card showing vaccinations, the resort provides plastic wrist bands and allows no masks. The bands allow staff to determine Covid status at a glance. All staff were masked. We each ordered a different entree and each of us was satisfied with our food. The size of the helpings were generous; we all took home left overs. By the way, I appreciate that the take home containers are recyclable! Service was quite good. It was a lovely day and a lovely view in the dining room. The dining room did become quite noisy. Our meal, for two with a 20% tip figured in, it was $52.63. Parking is free and plentiful. The restaurant is a professional operation. We appreciated it!

My husband and I went here for our anniversary after playing golf at Alderwood. The tables were spaced appropriately and employees were all wearing masks. Our waitress was very friendly, helpful, and efficient. We split a rib-eye steak dinner and added salads. My husband had an order of clams to start and he said they were about the best he's ever had. Just a little heat added to the butter and lemon. The steak was superb and we were treated to a chocolate torte in celebration of our anniversary. We live in the Portland area and were up here for another function, but we would definitely drive up again for another of their fabulous meals.

We are local and try to support local. Before covid the patio was a great place to have a bite, listen to music, grab a drink and relax. It's changed and not for the better. It's now self-serve, walk up and order and they call out your name for pick up, you know, just like McDonalds, only there is an automatic tip added. The thing is, there is staff everywhere with nothing to do. If they checked on you, asked if you wanted another beverage etc. it would be much better. It rained a little during our visit and instead of wiping down the tables and benches, the staff just sat there, while customers went to the pool desk and grabbed towels. The prices are high, which you expect at a place like this, but you also expect service. Disappointing.

My husband and I were excited to have dinner here but we’re most disappointed. The tuna dish was floating in a broth and did not look or taste appealing. The Caesar salad was unrecognizable as one - limp lettuce with a few anchovies on top and a flavorless dressing and breadcrumbs for croutons? Where was the Parmesan? The Italian beef dish lacked depth and flavor. For a restaurant with this location and all the hoopla, it was so bad. I’m sorry but this had to be exposed. The cocktails and bar and bartender were fabulous as were the hostess however!

The resort is beautiful! We ate at the patio. View is spectacular and our waiter was wonderful. The food however was terrible and way too expensive. One had the 2 piece fish and chips. Fish overcooked and ends were chewy. Tarter sauce nothing to write home about. Another had the steak salad. Steak was chewy and not very favorable. Salad dressing was just ok. Third had tacos and said they were good. The topper? Automatically add 20% tip, no matter what the size of the party, so my iced tea and fish and chips cost $31.00. Not worth it.

6 of us had drinks and food outside on the deck. The food and drinks were good except serving wine in a plastic cup is tacky. It’s not like it is a pool area where people sometimes don’t have on footwear. This is supposed to be an upscale place. How upscale is it to charge 20% for a tip automatically on your bill. Pay your people right and treat your customers how you want to be treated as an upscale place. I won’t be going there again for this reason.

Inspire06650993207 - I am sorry you did not enjoy a few aspects of your visit to the patio. Many folks do walk around the resort barefoot as well as animals, so we do unfortunately use the plastic ware for dining outside. People also buy a drink and walk into the pool area. When glass breaks in the pool, it creates a situation where we need to close the pool down. If you would like to discuss the service charge please email gm@alderbrookresort.com. Thank you for your feedback. We do read each one carefully and discuss as a team when there are opportunities for improvement. We hope you will give us another chance. Thank you!

The Alderbrook was the perfect place to have a nice dinner during my getaway on the canal. Absolutely gorgeous location on the water; my view while dining was magnificent. The service was outstanding in every way. I was immediately seated by attentive staff, and my server was knowledgeable and friendly. I had the Tiger Prawns starter and they were delicious! My main was the halibut, and it was the best I’ve tasted, and cooked to perfection. I took a piece of Lemon Huckleberry cake home and thoroughly enjoyed it. All in all, The Alderbrook was a wonderful experience.
