Best Hot Cross Buns

As a longtime customer I was pleased that they found a way to stay open during the virus shutdown and I got my Hot Cross buns. The team is working to get their delicious baked goods to customers and are all doing it with a smile. I picked up some Easter cookies too. I will go out of my way to come here for my baked goods- they are that fantastic and I love supporting small businesses. Congratulations and thank you to Hillcrest for making adjustments and staying open!

A six star experience - cherry tart

I came in today for a Valentine’s Day cookie as they have the best sugar cookies with frosting. I found what I wanted but then spied this delectable cherry tart in the donut case. It was criminally delicious! I also lucked out and Friday is dark rye bread day. This would be 6 stars if I could rate it. And the person helping me was absolutely wonderful

Worth a try

Hill crest is renouned place in Bothell as it shares a fair bit of history with Bothell. I went with my daughter and we bought cupcakes and assorted biscuits. They were all good. I didn’t find anything exceptional as rated by others and therefore 4 starts.

Ordered Birthday cake

The bakers at Hillcrest Bakery did an excellent job - the cake was just what I wanted, was decorated divinely (they went the extra mile (as my grandson wanted a troll cake) to get the appropriate decorations for the cake) and was absolutely delicious. It made his birthday that much more special. Thank you.

Never go near Bothell without getting a sweet treat

Soil yourself and others at any time of the year. Worth the trip and price. Admit this, you can't bake as wonderful as they do.

Best Donuts & Cookies

We have finally discovered a great donut shop. Best things here: Apple fritters, Maple Bars, Toffee cookies. Try something new each time. Easy free parking, too!

Authentic Dutch Bakery

Owned and managed by the same family for over 3 generations, Bothell's Hillcrest Bakery is a wonderful, small-town gem. From melt in your mouth pastries to the freshest bread, pies and cookies, Hillcrest is consistently one of the top vote-getters in the Best of the Northwest surveys. Wedding cakes are another specialty at Hillcrest. For those who complain about seating...well, Hillcrest Bakery is one of those treasured, small-town establishments which has stayed true to form and probably decided not to become the next Starbucks where people can hang out all day and play on their laptops or smartphones. Goodness, they probably don't have public wifi either!!! What is the world coming to? Do they sell out of favorites from time to time? Yes. It's because they are popular.

Great little Bakery

The Hillcrest is a step back in time. Great little bakery. Pastries and recipes from the Netherlands. They have been around since 1934. One of the oldest businesses in Bothell, WA.

Not impressed

We bought cookies for a coffee meeting. We decided we wanted a variety of them so figured Hill rest was the place. We got exactly what we wanted. Unfortunately they were so hard they were inedible. There were several older ladies there and one of them said she loosened a tooth trying to bite the cookie. Obviously won’t be going back there.

Coffee Break

I stopped in for a coffee & snack after a nearby haircut. The coffee was great, as was my glazed doughnut. I love this old style family owned bakery. They have been providing doughnuts for our church coffee & doughnuts for many years. They are a hit each week.

Minimal seating, come for the apple fritters

Pros The apple fritters are the best ive had. Cons Very litte seating and bad coffee there is a good selection but sometimes you need to call ahead to put what you want aside. I ordered 2 dozen donuts all while raving about the fritter and none were included in my order, they were sold out when I went to pick up so I looked stupid to all my family and friends

This place has been here a long, long, time for a reason! Although the are "proud" of their reputation and product, it is worth the few bucks more to taste the quality!

Wrong date for my cake!

Hillcrest got the date wrong for my custom cake for a friends retirement party! I never heard anything from them from the time I put my order in to the day of the party. I was so disappointed! The manager that day was gracious and covered the mistake by offering free of charge some cakes for the party. It was a good response. She even tried to add to the cakes some decoration, however, she's not a cake decorator. Then on Sunday (2 days after this happened) I get a call asking for some input to the cake they are making! Really! The manager didn't pass on the information to the others that the cake date was wrong and it was no longer needed. Jeez! Really disappointed in them. They've been there so long I expected better.
