We enjoyed a great dinner. Easy parking in garage across the street and free parking after 5 pm. The service and food was perfect. We were not rushed and enjoyed our experience from start to finish. Great selection of beers and wines.

Came on time and was seated at 715. That was the last interaction from anyone at the restaurant. After over twenty minutes we decided to leave, so before we left we just let the hostess know the situation. She said ok, then I received a...email about an hour later about "being a no show" from open table. I emailed them back explaining that we were there and on time. Not sure what happened to this place .More

I haven’t been to Passion Fish in several years, so when we knew we were going to be in Reston for a Saturday evening, we made reservations to enjoy an early Valentine’s dinner here. This dining room is gorgeous! I love the extremely tall ceilings...with floor to ceiling drapes and the huge chandelier in the design of bubbles floating up from the ocean floor, it just makes the place look go very grand! This venue makes for an excellent location for a special dinner!! Our food was very fresh and prepared perfectly! Starting with their shrimp cocktail, which was excellent (cocktail sauce was tangy and tasty!), then moving on to ceviche, which was some of the best I’ve ever had (the habanero was definitely present in this dish, but not too spicy), then their basic greens salad loaded with fresh greens and dressed nicely and then on to entrées… I love good seafood, but have never been a fan of salmon, so they made Grilled Tandoori Mahi for me, which was perfect! The seasoning on the fish was spot-on and the daal had excellent texture and flavor as well. I especially liked the mint chutney and the tamarind chutney that was dotted around the plate, they offered a nice contrast to the robust curry flavors. Their Bahian Style Seafood Moqueca was nicely done and beautifully served. Dessert was special, as we enjoyed donuts! Yes, these were some of the best donuts ever!! We not only enjoyed several courses of food, we also indulged in a few courses of adult beverages too! Starting with bubbles (as they have a nice selection of them) and then moving on to cocktails, which I highly suggest, as they have a nice cocktail list. We knew we wanted a bottle of wine with dinner and one of the servers gave us a nice suggestion, which we went with and really enjoyed. Definitely will be back and highly recommend Passion Fish for fresh seafood done right!More

We went to PassionFish over the holidays because we were impressed that their menu offered a wide variety of fish. They are not limited to the tired salmon, scallops, shrimp and bass found at other seafood restaurants. We ordered oysters on the halfshell for appetizers....They were very difficult to eat because the kitchen didn't sever the muscle from the bottom shell. Trying to loosen the oyster from the shell with our oyster forks just tore through the flesh, making a mess of things. The oysters were shucked poorly, and you wonder how a fine dining establishment couldn't hire and train competent kitchen staff?! For our main courses we ordered artic char and redfish. Both of which you don't see at other seafood restaurants. They were delicious and the side dishes were flavorful too. The service was very attentive. We were practically the only people seated upstairs. The waiter came up to check on us often, so we were not forgotten despite being alone upstairs. It is such a shame about the oysters. I'd return again but won't order oysters next time.More

We had a small group from the neighborhood go for dinner. We had reservations and were seated almost immediately upon entering the restaurant. The service was excellent, the menu extensive. We enjoyed the bread and spread. We had appetizers, ceviche and broiled oysters. I took...the waiter's advise on dinner choice of Artic Char. It was just as she described it, moist yet flaky like white fish. They were able to accommodate my food sensitivity without difficulty. My spouse had the grilled salmon with roasted cauliflower. The food was delicious and flavorful. Everyone at the table compliment the food. We also enjoyed the lemon snickerdoodle creme brulee. It was perfectly crusted and flavorful.More

My friend and I stopped by for happy hour and our experience was amazing. I made reservations prior and we were seated as soon as we got there. We ordered oysters, Argentinian beef empanadas, crudo spoons of the day, Bloody Mary oyster shooters and the...spicy salmon maki roll. Everything was delicious especially the fish. We loved the crudo spoons as you get the tasty salmon and tuna per bite. The oysters were delicious and can't be passed up during happy hour. Highly recommend this place if you want quality happy hour food and drinks. Parking here is very easy to find as they have a garage 2 mins away. FYI its free after 5 PM on the weekdays. I'll definitely be back to try their fried flounder and other HH menu items.More

We decided to re-visit Passion Fish after a gap of 2 years (pandemic plus it is expensive) ONLY because we heard Gerard Roncal was the new GM. We knew him from Ten Phen where we first met him at this excellent Asian Fusion which sadly...closed . We were thrilled he now runs this restaurant and during our visit we could see signs of his service excellence. When we arrived a little early, we were about to be seated upstairs (stairs) and we elected to sit downstairs. The bar was full and although not super busy when we arrived, it filled up pretty fast. We had seen the pot stickers for an appetizer (super), the lobster pot (great just a little more rice) and of course the Branzini which was excellent. GM Gerard came over to see us and we had a great time catching up. One of his Managers also came by. Two others are going to a new location in Florida. Food was great and in celebration of our Anniversary there was a nice note on the menu (Ten Phen special messaging) and we received a nice Anniversary dessert. Geoffrey was our main serve. A bit absent minded in service. However, knowing how difficult it is for restaurants to get, train and keep good staff and with GM Roncal there training, I know service will be great. So did not discount my rating. A great visit and we plan to return. GM Gerard Roncal you RockMore

For well over 10 years that I have been supporting PassionFish, it shines. Quality seafood & outstanding service. Just like grocery & gas prices, wholesale Restaurant costs have gone up too & it upsets me to hear people complain about restaurant prices. Anyhoo.. -Rene -...best service. Keeping the cocktails coming! Casa Noble Paloma & Pisco Sours. -Love getting sushi here because it’s impossible for me to ever make this at home! It would be like a Pinterest fail-Volcano roll is one of my favorites. -lobster Thai curry & swordfish with beurre Blanc & salsa verde sauces. I had never like swordfish till I started coming here. -Yukon gold mashed potatoes Because I love carbs and can never get enough. -Oh we are too Full for dessert! Let’s order donut holes and Keylime pie- demolished it. Bonus: loyalty members get 1 free Dessert on Friday & Saturday! Had to take advantage of that one! Patio packed. Every table full. Ok for another area, but two stars compared with other restaurants in Northern VA and DC. We dined here in Feb 2021 and I immediately wrote this review, saved it, but didn’t post until now. This place was awesome when we frequented it 19 years...ago. After moving back, we were a bit disappointed at the food: everything was just kind of overly salty and “blah” (bland) for the price. We are kind of spoiled living in this region, but there are definitely much better restaurants with better tasting food and service for the price. What we did like was the large open space that is safe for COVID social distancing. We thought service was professional, but not as friendly and personable as what we have come to expect from Northern Virginia area restaurants. Wine list was extensive and reasonably priced. The style (of food and presentation) was just overly ostentatious on first impression, but unimpressive on execution: e.g., the “Thai Red Curry” lobster dish had lots of lobster meat, but was overly sweet and missing the fresh lime leaves that’s supposed to be in Thai red curry dishes and specifically mentioned in their menu. The dish came out sugary but otherwise lacking in flavor. What a shame to the lobster that gave its life for us! The scallop was ok... nothing spectacular and definitely not as good as the pan fried scallop I’ve had at multiple other restaurants in this region. There were also various dishes that had fish sauce but described as “nam pla” on the menu: “nam pla” is just the English phonetic spelling of the Thai word for fish sauce. My wife and I just laughed at the fact that they tried to impress by using a Thai word on their menu but ended up screwing up the dishes themselves to the point of being tasty neither as Thai nor as western dishes. Not really fusion: just poor execution. Service was good enough for us, but lackluster food and the vibe of the place just left us wanting.More

Maintaining social distancing for the restaurant & following all safety protocols while other places get more lax. Very very confident dining here & supporting local owner & chef. Seafood is truly fresh & there is a saying: Cheap seafood isn’t fresh & fresh seafood isn’t...cheap. Quality shows here. Saw a couple Big Daddy seafood towers go by. Yum! Love that my entree came with a side. Don’t see that very often anymore. The asparagus was grilled to perfection. Of course saved room for dessert!! The Key lime choice was excellent. Four of us had such a memorable evening & remember to tip well. Team was working really hard (try wearing a mask your entire shift...) and we had outstanding service, as we do every time.More

You would have thought there were four of us at brunch we ordered so much food! -sushi sushi. Seriously the best. Freshest fish, innovative and we ate both orders. -did someone say Bellini? Fresh peach purée. Delicious. Keep them coming! -seafood crepes & Crab Benedict....I remember how incredible the homemade hollandaise was so I asked for a little on the side. Dipped the perfectly cooked potatoes in it too. -oh no I’m too full for dessert…but we ordered it anyway. Favorite is the warm donut holes dusted with sugar & served with this addictive Bavarian chocolate crepe. Safety measures are in place and we felt very confident eating here. Until the end of our visit tonight, this has been my family’s favorite restaurant for years. Tonight, while there were some blips, everything was good. The sauce for my Tandoori salmon, however, was cold. I was encouraged, after being asked how it was, by the...server and mngr on duty, “Gerard,” to send it back. A full salmon dish was returned (I had given some to my mom), and it was delicious. When we got the bill, however, for my meal, we were charged for 2 salmon entrees for $56. My 87-yr-old mother was a little tipsy, so perhaps they thought we all were and wouldn’t notice. I brought it to the server’s attention who removed it without apology, but agreeing that it shouldn’t have happened. We paid the bill without incident. On the way out, I found the mngr who frequently came by the table. He likewise did not apologize. I said, not only should we not have been double chArged, if anything, the entree should have been removed. He was rude, represented to my family that I had said we should not have had to pay for our bill in its entirety. When I heard about this, I confronted him. He responded in a very screw you attitude. My family and I have been big supporters of all restaurants during COVID, recognizing their suffering. I have never been treated so poorly at any restaurant of any caliber as I was tonight. To boot, the restaurant was teeming with people, likely in anticipation of foul weather sat and sun. I will not return again, despite loving the food here. There are many other restaurants more deserving of my family’s support.More
