Great Food Slow Service

The food was very very good, the service was lacking, we were there Sunday afternoon and they were not busy but our drinks were not refilled and we had to wait at the register to get our ticket for about 5 minutes. No one was around and people with cash were leaving the ticket and money and just walking out. But the food was soooo good!!

We're new to the area and have been making the rounds, trying all the local restaurants. We go to Christiansburg and Blacksburg a lot due to lack of quality food in the immediate area. But I am so glad that we decided to try Compadres. The food is outstanding, margaritas are great, and the restaurant itself is adorable. My husband called it a hidden gem. Don't let the strip mall throw you. We'll be back soon.

The food (fish tacos) and the drink (lime margaritas) were very good. The value was very good. The service was a little slow.

So this is the 2nd time we ordered from them and it was bad this time we ordered 2 chicken and cheese quesadillas, carne asada, guacamole and chips, and an order of rice and beans. Which they didn't even tell us how long it would take so we can pick up or how much it was they just hung up! First the chicken and cheese quesadillas were the worst quesadillas I've ever seen and tasted in my life and I loveee quesadillas! Taco bells are wayyy better! The tortillas they were in were soooo soggy on the one side I had to scrape the chicken off and just eat the chicken which didn't taste too bad but there was no cheese threw out the chicken just slapped on one side of the wet tortilla. Very disappointed. The carne asada was cold nowhere near good. The guacamole was so bland I can literally can make wayyy better guac myself. Rice and beans weren't bad just cold. First time we ordered from them the order was completely wrong. The first time if a place is bad ok I get it maybe they were having a bad day a bad cook or something so I'll try again but twice being bad we'll never be ordering from them again. And too bad because I love Mexican.

It just about took me out. Lol called 30 min before they said it would be ready. Nope waited about 30 to 45 to get food. When we got home it was wrong. We ate it anyway but they are struggling on reopen. Good food though!

Always loved dining here with friends & family. Went this evening @ 6:15pm... Had a really RUDE waiter, slammed dishes, never came back to ask if we wanted anything else, or how the food was. Then I observe him cleaning tables throwing them into a tub angrily, loud, obnoxious. Really sad for a dinimg experience trying to enjoy dinner. Also told him I needed to place an order before leaving. BUT, he never came back. Really DISAPPOINTED** & won't be back. Ruined our anniversary & my Birthday. Sadly....bad experience bc he had a bad attutude & hated his job. Other customers were also not pleased. This waiter will RUIN this business for sure. Sad this USE to be a favorite. We all will go elsewhere NOW. HOPE THE WAITER IS PLEASED, BUSINESS WILL BE LOST. Food was SALTED down, couldn't eat my plate. Sadly, what was once a good restaurant is NO MORE.

The staff is friendly, the food is great and delivered to table in a timely manner. We frequent mainly after church service and no matter how busy, we never have a long wait.

Good restaurant. But not a good experience the last time we were there.

We have eaten at this restaurant several times. Food is good and portions are large. Only complaint: We walked in on a Sunday in early November about 2 in the afternoon. They were busy and a host/hostess was not on duty. We waited 15 minutes before someone acknowledged that we were waiting on a table. They motion for us to wait, which we did for another 5-10 minutes. Then we decided to leave because we had no idea how long we would wait to speak with someone to find out what the wait time would be. I would guess this is an isolated instance. We will be back.

Place is awful. Avoid at all costs

Owner does not care about the people who have been with him for years. Allows people to over drink and even get nude in his restaurant. Food has gone down hill for years and he can't keep help. Makes one wonder where his money is actually coming from.

best mexican food in town,

excellent Mexican food,,,, best taco's ever made,,, chips and salsa is out of the world,,, I go by and just pick up 4 big cups of their salsas ,, it better than store bought. I sit and eat a pint of it with chips, love it.

PINA LOCO BEST EVER!!!

We were out the other night and decided to stop in for a quick dinner. I gmhad had pina Loco before but it had been awhile. The chips were yummy, the salsa was delicious, we devoured them while chatting. Then the meals were delivered. My cousin ordered a chicken dish that looked and smelled fabulous. Renée and I both ordered the Pina Loco (Crazy Pineapple). I received half of a huge pineapple shell filled with grilled veggies, steak, chicken and of course fresh pineapple chunks. Every bite was like a party in your mouth. I didn't think I possibly finish it and I was right. I had a nice lunch the next day from the leftovers. Service was friendly and prices reasonable. This restaurant has always been dependable for good food but this was top shelf.
