Booked a table for the Thursday Jazz Dinner , run seasonally over a couple of summer months.
The cafe is quaint and cosy set in the beautiful John Str location , lined with huge pine trees which is an easy walk down to the foreshore to watch a beautiful sunset on Cottesloe
beach .
The live music Jazz Dinner is a 3 course set menu ($50 pp) with a choice of 3 options for starter and main , and two dessert options with various sides , such as veggies , salad and chips to add at an extra cost
The food was delicious all round , with the tiramisu a definite 10/10 highlight
BYO wine and beer is a plus .
The staff and service was excellent .
Will definitely return to try their
breakfast , and sit at an outside table under the umbrella .

I Love coming here most of the staff are so nice and friendly. although I hate going up to get a coffee the lady who works there is rude and is very difficult. She roles her eyes if you request something slightly different to what is on the menu and always appears like she doesn't want to be there and is sick of people.

I am afraid to say that after coming to this cafe for well over a decade I was treated appallingly by the staff just for politely requesting (and having already ordered) some extra milk to have with my tea. Both the member of staff and the staff behind the counter were incredibly rude, bordering on abusive. Very sad to say I won’t be going back.

Went to my fav café again this morning. Have been going for 20+ years and seen some changes. Always until now they have been good changes. Lately though the owners/managers are incredibly rude. The food standard has gone down. The other day I paid $12.50 for a soy long Mac and 2 pieces of toast which were dry and looked like bread bought at Coles. Next day I went back, ordered toast again, same result. But instead ordered a chai tea. It used to come in a pot with loose tea. I always order hot soy milk on side. This was always refilled without any problem. I asked for the tea to be strong thinking I would still be having loose tea but it came with 2 tea bags ( still weak) and he charged me extra for the tea bag, double actually, and charged extra for a little tiny bit of soy milk. I think I must have been charged for the olive oil too which I asked for instead of butter. The bill this day was $15.50 for 2 pieces of dry toast and tea. Went again today and asked about the disappearance of loose tea, he said “It is still loose tea, it’s just portioned (rationed) out. I was baffled. Wait, what?? I mentioned that I was surprised that the other day I was charged so much for tea and I received a curt answer that nothing in life comes free or words to that effect. Wow. My tea pot arrived with 1 tea bag, fine. There were about 6 drops of soy milk in the other pot. Enough for barely 1 cup of tea but the pot held at least 2-3. When I asked the lovely waitperson for more she came back and told me I had to go up to the counter and ask for it so I could pay for it. Did that and asked what was happening with all the extra charges for everything. Explained it was may fav café, I bring a lot of people there and have been coming for over 20 years. The manager or owner man asked me what I did for a living and because I was so aghast I went blank so he must have realised I wasn’t going to answer that. He said he has been there for 5 years and I said I knew that and then he asked me where I had been in lockdown, he said “ I didn’t see you coming here”. Wait, what??? I was really disappointed to be treated so rudely. Next thing they will charge for is the tap water in the bottles. It’s such a shame to see such a beautiful spot ripping people off. The girls today who were waiting tables were really nice and probably thrilled to have a job, and that’s nice. Too about about the owner or manager. I get it that they have to pay staff, sure but when it becomes so petty that their attitude towards you is telling you you should be grateful to be there (implied) it's time to maybe let go of an era of friendly, good service and nice food because this café is no longer any of that and I am sad about it.

Lovely ambience but the female manager is so rude when under pressure. Don't buy a takeaway coffee there. They won't tell you when you order there is a 20 minute wait and when you eventually enquire when it might be ready they will not answer that either and just tell you ASAP and explode if you ask where you are in the queue.

Checked our bill upon payment to find out that they've charged us $2.50 for a babycinno as opposed to $2 as stated in the menu, and added a caramel syrup surcharge to our coffee even though it was not requested.
when we told the staff, he was not only unapologetic, and even told us off to " state your requests clearly next time".
well, with an attitude like that, there won't be a next time.

Met a couple of friends here for a cosy lunch on a cold winters day. Lovely cafe filled with beautiful art work that is for sale. Service was a little slow considering there place was pretty well empty ( due to the weather I am sure ) but the food was delicious. Excellent coffee too. We’re a little disappointed that it was not licensed.

We just stopped in quickly for a coffee before heading home. Very busy little place with lots of friendly dogs around
I ordered a chai latte and found that almost 1/2 of my drink was froth. I should have said something but they were busy. The rest of our table all enjoyed their drinks
Staff were welcoming and friendly

Lovely setting, good hot coffee. Ordered pancakes for breakfast, they used to be great. Not today, 3 naked and very ordinary small pancakes surrounded by lemon curd and 2 strawberries. Very disappointing. Eggs Benedict came on 2 slices of sourdough bread that had been toasted for too long, crust was really hard and dry. Also, the 2 slices were on top of each other, so one had all the toppings, the other one underneath was plain.

The walk up the street to the cafe was lovely and it wasn’t too busy
Ordering took a long time but the coffee wasn’t far behind.
We shared the omelette and the mushroom on toast, both were great and disappeared quickly.
Lovely sitting outside too.
Nice to see plenty of locals enjoying themselves

First visit for a few years and I was very disappointed. They used to have a great range of gluten free food on the menu and really yummy interesting cakes. Now there is hardly anything gluten free and the cake selection was so boring and mundane I didn't order any. After discovering I could no longer have the eggs benedict (an old favourite from here) as they couldn't be made GF (very odd, as I've never had an issue with a cafe not being able to poach eggs for me before, they apparently couldn't substitute the malt vinegar) I ordered the burger. A very lack-lustre offering arrived - tiny bit of limp lettuce, rock hard bits of GF bread, very unattractive little pile on the plate - no love at all. So, sadly, I won't be going back again, which is a shame because I used to love this cafe.

Located in a street close to Cottesloe Beach and lined with the iconic Norfolk Island Pines, this cafe is a lovely small attractive place to visit. Seating is inside and outside and it is table service. Even when busy due to its popularity, the staff are friendly and the food delicious. What was unique, was drinking apple juice actually made fresh from squeezed green apples. Delicious.

Been coming here for a few years as a regular tourist - my favourite place to sit and have relaxing breakfast with family. Service can be a little slow but have always found staff pleasant and helpful to the vegan members of my family. Food always been great and coffee. My advice is go to relax but if you are starving you might get a a little frustrated so have a delicious juice to take edge off!

Turned up for lunch at 12.15pm. Only two other tables taken which did not look promising. Proved correct. Food choices poor, and food very tasteless and uninteresting. Coffee to follow was awful. Left untouched.
