So we had a voucher to use at ail Lido, we thought what a perfect opportunity to use for breakfast whilst we were in the area.
Personal opinion the breakfast menu is average. There are ‘baked goodies’ and lots of bread based panini options. We both sat looking at the menu and not having anything jump out at us. The staff were interesting. We sat our selves down and no one came to us so I assumed we had to get menus and order at the bar.
The short haired “I’m different” chicky babe literally did the eyes down, eyes up scan and informed me it was table service, so I went back outside and waited one again.
Not too long after a lovely younger server came out to take our order. As most of the menu is bread based we orders two drinks and two panini’s.
We waited 30 odd minutes for our food and our drinks were brought out by a nice younger guy who engaged with us and loved our dogs.
We ate - the food was fine
We used our voucher and both said well that experience was average, would we come back after the sass and the menu which didn’t hit the mark- no.
Maybe lunch and or dinner would have been more our thing ….

I have been over from Melbourne visiting my daughter and grandson for Christmas 2023. Last night before I fly home my daughter took me out for dinner at Il Lido in Cottesloe. Stunning evening in Cottesloe and a walk was mandatory. Just stunning.
Came to the restaurant which looked like a real; Italian restaurant, very busy (good sign) and an impressive collection of wines up and down the walls.
We waited for the Maitre De to seat us, and this took about 15 minutes as he was attending to the bills of previous Diners. I was a little annoyed about this as I was hungry and looking forward to my meal. This frustration abated once we were seated and ordered a glass of wine.
I had a Celentani with white duck ragu, cinnamon, chilli, spinach, parmigiano and Reggiano. The meal was lovely. The staff were efficient and friendly and the Maitre De a lovely man.
My daughter had Tagliatelle with WA gourmet mushrooms and local ricotta. This looked beautiful. My grandson (7) had a child's serving of Gnocci with cherry tomato sugo, local stacciatella, and basil.
All meals were lovely and the ambience of this restaurant just perfect. Thanks for a great night.

We ordered a starter to share and a meal (for 2) plus a side everything came out at once not how we ordered it….it was too much food to come at once. It’s a lovely location. The staff were a little rude/abrupt and inattentive. The food was very underwhelming and over priced for what it was. The most tasty thing was the salad.
Went for a birthday to celebrate my partner and left disappointed.

My family and I had high hopes for this restaurant based on previous experiences, but we left utterly disappointed this time around. The food was forgettable at best—bland, lacking creativity, and definitely not worth the price. Our main courses arrived late, and the flavors were so unimpressive that I almost forgot what I’d ordered.
As if the mediocre food wasn’t enough, the service was a complete letdown. The waitstaff seemed disinterested and inattentive. I had to flag someone down multiple times just to get a refill on our water or order more drinks. The sommelier acted like it had inconvenienced him when we asked for recommendations on the wine. The staff even had the audacity to tell us we didn’t have time for dessert after it had taken them 80 mins to bring us our main course.
All in all, this dining experience was a major letdown. There are far better places to dine in Perth, and I won’t be returning or recommending this place to anyone. Save your money and your evening—this restaurant isn’t worth the trip.

Made the effort to go for dinner here due to a previous great experience several years ago (we are from interstate). Ordered the octopus, polpette (meatballs) and the market fish. We somehow got talked into ordering the bread, marinated olives and deep fried olives and cheese.
The whole meal was a disappointment.
Bread was uninspiring and the oil and balsamic had a very bitter taste. Surely its not hard to get these two items perfect in an 'italian' restaurant. The octopus, meatballs and fish were all fresh but their accompanying sauces were extremely bland. I asked for some salt, hoping it would improve the sauce and was provided with salt in a commercial cardboard container (i kid you not) .
Waiters flew around like scolded cats.
The best thing about the meal was the wine.
The worst was the blandness of the food and the bill for this really forgettable meal.

One of the worst "Italian" meals I've ever eaten. The food was appalling - factory loaf bread, massive lumps of doughy, undercooked gnocchi and everything tasted of charcoal because of the overtoasted macadamias. And not cheap either. Apart from one friendly waiter, the staff were extremely cold and unwelcoming and repeatedly tried to upsell on wine. When I didn't spend a small fortune, they were too busy to attend. The only saving grace was the grand room, the beautiful bar and the displays of wine but I would recommend enjoying that from through the window when you walk on by!

Span out on the train from CBD and walked across from the station... stunning little stroll with views of the beach, great way to start!
Saturday lunchtime on a scorchio day was always going to be rammed but the venue knows what it is doing and was well-organised in a friendly way.
Food served was superb... beautifully cooked duck and I think the best lamb rump I've ever seen/eaten. Prices absolutely fair and service attentive but not obtrusive.
Only potential issue is that it is bench seating... not a major issue apart from the selfish tossers next to me who booked for six but then sat 4+2. I moved down as far as I could but this seemed to be taken solely as an invitation for them to spread themselves even further.
Overall though, deserves 5/5 and will go again when next in the area.

Called into this restaurant today as part of the visit to sculptures by the sea at 11:40pm. Waited to see if we could find a seat, we were finally taken to a table and told we had to be out by 1:30pm. Order could not be placed until 12pm. First course arrived and we were absolutely amazed and the minute portions for entree. Char grilled octopus consisted of 2 small tentacles on a bed of something. Duck was served cold with some sort of white jelly like cold sauce on top. Beef cheek was not edible at $45 per serve. I ordered a Moscato sweet wine and was served exactly 60ml, this cost $20. Service was poor, they could have made more money on the drinks but once your meal was served you never saw a waiter again. This is one of the worst food experience we have ever had. Would not recommend and certainly would not go back. Extremely over priced for the minuscule amount of food served.

My friend and I were there for lunch, we ordered a lasagna for two. The dough was completely raw and dry so we showed the waitress as it was visible and asked to cook more. They brought back a new one exactly the same, I'm not sure if the chef reckon thats normal, no one gave any explanation and honestly If they could not do it properly for the second time I just stop complaign and prefer never come back again. The only good thing about this place is the location in front of the ocean. Staff is ok but not experienced.

Went there with my guests to celebrate my birthday on a Monday night.
I can't help but express my big disappointment at the end of the night. It so happens that, of the 20 guests I was expecting for dinner, only 11 showed up and, after we sang happy birthday, the waiter informed me that the cake would be taken to the kitchen to be cut. Each of us (12 people) then received our normal-sized pieces of cake, but the rest of the cake made to serve 22 people did not return to the table in case someone wanted a second piece...
When I asked for my box with the rest of the cake I was told that we had eaten all the cake and so I replied that it was impossible since no one got a huge piece of cake or repeated it and that there must have been between 8 and 10 pieces left and then one of the staff replied that he saw the cake in the kitchen but did not know what had happened to the rest of the cake. Just because of that, I already felt extremely disrespected and cheated... I felt bad on my birthday night. To make matters worse, when it came time to pay the bill that was more than $700, I was charged $42 just for taking a cake inside the restaurant. I found this absurd since I was not warned at any time about the charge of this fee before.
I felt extremely wronged and sucked, paying $42 for someone at the restaurant to eat almost 50% of my birthday cake that I expected to take home.
I found it impolite and extreme rudeness coming from such a fancy restaurant that, despite the good service and good food, I do not intend to return nor recommend it. I sent the manager an email 1 months ago talking about this and never heard back.

Our last experience at Il Lido was a 5 so we were looking forward to going back for an anniversary night out, but unfortunately this time round was not so great.
A long wait to be seated in an only half-full restaurant, but this isn’t usually an issue if everything else runs smoothly.
Half way through our entrees (which included an unseasoned Wagyu beef) our mains arrived and although the waitress saw we were still eating, plonked the pasta plates down around us. After we said we were nowhere near ready, another waitress told her to remove them which she did in silence.
This was fine, however when the pasta mains did make it back to the table, they were no longer freshly cooked and had obviously been sitting under the heat lamps all that time in the kitchen…not happy and not good enough for an expensive restaurant.
The unattractive music was not helping the situation.
The wait staff were definitely not the calibre of the other times we have been here with no banter or personalised service, just silently rushed.
Conclusion: Not sure that hiring inexperienced waiting staff is worth the risk of ruining a good reputation, so sorry we won’t be back in a hurry.

Family are cott locals and every time I come home I love nothing more than coming to the beach with family and friends. I have been to il lido twice this visit and both times have been disappointing. As a celiac you know to expect limited options which is fine and usually the food options are still great, but what isn’t ok is being lied too. The restaurant has options for gf bread/ toast for same of the hot breakfasts. So can pair with the omelette and mushroom bruschetta.. etc. This morning I asked if it would be possible to just swap the fruit toast with condiments or the crumpets for gf bread as all I felt like was a bit of a sweet breakfast. This is usually a simple request and not too cumbersome for restaurants to accomodate. They refused to swap leaving me with only a counter banana loaf option. This was small and unfulfilling and come out a full 20 minutes before my families food did leaving me to eat on my own. Just disappointing for what would otherwise just be a very easy swap.

Our family of five visited for dinner at 6.30pm and enjoyed a really good meal. Loved the ambient dining room - lots of wood, wine racks and low lighting! Seating was on long tables but we were spaced out from other guests.
Good menu choices for both wine and food. Excellent cocktails and local wine options. Foodwise, we enjoyed scallops in lime butter, tempura monkfish (delicious), tagliatelle with mushrooms, gnocchi, pasta with sausage sauce and fish of the day. No complaints. Everything was very tasty.
The sommalier was excellent!

Special occasion, family bash, my shout. Waitress didn’t take down the order correctly which was, perhaps, our fault. Pasta dish - al dente with a few tiny clams and some soupy stuff at the bottom Misto Mare even less impressive, dominated by white bait. Obviously white bait was cheap because there was no shortage of it. At least I was able to order a decent bottle of Forest Hill Chardonnay, even if it did cost $105.00 (more than 3 times retail. Overall, not much chop and I wouldn’t return. Oh, and did I mention the sommelier? Poorly trained upstart who didn’t have a clue. Very disappointing all round.

The restaurant was recommended by a local in Adelaide, where we had a wonderful Italian meal. It is located right by the main strip across from the beach. They did accommodate us to change the reservation to before sunset (vs after) and we sat near the coffee bar.
We found the food a bit bland and the service harried. It was a very busy Saturday, particularly as the Sculpture Trail exhibit was there. The eggplant appetizer needed more zest. The steak entree was good; the homemade taglietelle with mushrooms was tasteless.
